Police probing 'suspicious' vehicle fire at Glasgow cash and carry
Police are treating a fire which destroyed three vehicles outside a cash and carry in Glasgow as suspicious.Officers were called to the Strawberry Garden store on Forth Street in Pollokshields shortly after midnight on Saturday.The store's owners said it had not been damaged in the attack and was open as normal on Saturday.No-one was injured and a Police Scotland spokesman said inquiries into the incident were ongoing.
Fire crews arrived to extinguish the flames but three vans were destroyed by the blaze.A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 12:05 on Saturday 21 June, police received a report of three vehicles on fire in the Forth Street area of Glasgow. "The fires were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no injuries were reported. "The incident is being treated as suspicious and inquiries are ongoing."
A statement from Strawberry Garden said their vehicles were not targeted in the attack.They said "false rumours" had been spread online that the store had also been damaged, but added that was not true.Posting on Facebook, the store's owners said: "Strawberry Garden Cash and Carry and all our vehicles are safe and untouched. We are open as normal and ready to welcome you."Our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbours, whose vans were sadly set on fire."Thank you for your ongoing support. Please help us share the correct information and ignore any false rumours."

Horror as woman, 19, sexually assaulted in alleyway as man, 43, arrested & cops launch probe
COPS have launched a probe after a 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in an alleyway in a busy city centre. Police confirmed that a 43-year-old man had been arrested after the "serious" attack on the teenager in Nottingham City Centre last night. 2 2 A cordon was in place overnight after the horror unfolded in an alley on Canal Street just before 8pm on Friday. Investigations into the daylight assault remain ongoing and the victim is being supported by specially trained officers. Detective Inspector Amy Revill said: "We take reports of sexual offences and violence against women and girls extremely seriously. "We are now investigating this incident and we need to urgently hear from anyone with information. "This incident happened in a busy area of the city and in daylight, so we are hopeful that witnesses come forward." Nottinghamshire Police has appealed for anyone with more information on the attack to come forward. A statement released by the force this morning said: "Police are investigating a serious sexual assault that took place in an alleyway in Canal Street just before 8pm on Friday, June 20. "A 43-year-old man has been arrested and taken into custody. "The victim, a 19-year-old woman, is being supported by staff specifically trained to support victims of sexual offences. "A cordon remains in place at the scene. "Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident 807 of June 20 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Man dies after early hours incident at Stoke-on-Trent property
A man has died following an early hours incident at a house in Stoke-on-Trent. Staffordshire Police said it was called to reports of a person with a large bladed weapon on Cope's Avenue in Tunstall at about 02:30 BST on Saturday. Officers later gained access to the property and found a man in his 20s who was unresponsive, a force statement added. It is not known how he died, but detectives do not believe anybody else was involved. Paramedics attended and attempted CPR but the man inside the home was declared dead at the scene. An investigation will now review the circumstances leading up to his death, the force added. Anybody with information has been asked to contact police.
