Lace-trim satin shorts are the latest lingerie trend dominating summer wardrobes, shop X of the best
Finally, I think I've found the pinnacle summer outfit, and it centres around a pair of shorts. From knee-grazing denim styles to tailored Bermudas and ruffled bloomers, there's been no shortage of shorts trends this szn, but the latest to capture the street style set in a collective chokehold is lace-trim satin shorts. Part lingerie, part nightwear, they're entirely cute!
The secret to their immediate style staple status lies in their versatility that translates to any and every occasion – dress them down for casual park hangouts or up with a coordinating silk cami and heeled flip flops for holiday dinners. Meanwhile, the combination of the elegant yet breathable fabric and loose silhouette has secured them as a summer hero item.
It's Dôen's now sold-out (*sob*) Iona Short that sparked the obsession. The cream silk-satin style trimmed with intricate white floral lace at the hems proved an easy-wearing delight, pairing equally well with a simple tank top and stacks of jewellery as a grey sweatshirt and jelly sandals.
Luckily, there are plenty of similar styles on the high street and beyond, so you can effortlessly replicate the look. Don't be afraid to embrace the pyjama-inspired vibe and check out the nightwear and lingerie sections of your fave stores – but remember, these shorts are far too cute to save for your bed! Styled with an oversized striped linen shirt and woven ballet flats, no one would know.
Don't just take our word for it, though. We've rounded up the best lace-trimmed satin shorts to shop now so you can get in on the trend and breeze through the heatwave in sweat-free style.
Trust Reformation to come through with a great lookalike for the sell-out Dôen pair in a gorgeous off-white hue and a black shade, too. Ya know, just for good measure.
Technically, these are pyjama shorts, but as long as your t-shirt falls over the elasticated waistband, we doubt anyone would know. Coming in 10 different colourways, there's a style for everyone.
These 100% cotton shorts have a satin finish and, rather than a lace trim, are decorated with pretty embroidery and laser cut-outs along the scalloped hem. Style with a black boxy blazer, white t-shirt and ballet flats for an office-appropriate 'fit.
Another pyjama short, this Tezenis style features delicate eyelash lace adorning the raised hem sides. With that price tag, we're tempted to add the black and cream pair to basket.
Kate Moss's collab with Zara is full of boho beauties we're longing to wear to a festival this summer, but top of our wishlist is easily these silk lingerie shorts. They come in black, but this butter yellow hue is not only so on trend for SS25 but is giving us major throwbacks to that one-shoulder lemon dress from Kate's Topshop collection back in the day.
Once the heatwave passes, we'll be styling these black satin lace shorts with knee-high biker boots for a punk rock twist.
For a slightly different take on the trend, these A&F shorts position the lace falling vertically down the front. We're torn between the luxe navy and this soft rose shade.
What's better than the lace-trim satin shorts trend? When it's combined with another of our fave SS25 shorts trends: boxer shorts. This Topshop style nails both looks in one. Race ya to the checkout!
If you've ever wanted to wear your pyjamas out without fear of judgement (guilty!) now you can, thanks to Boux Avenue's satin shorts. Leave the PJ top at home in favour of a grey cotton t-shirt, though.

Pair These Autumn Winter Boots To Your Summer Mini Dress For A Cool Girl Outfit Recipe
Summer may not be over yet, but I've already got one eye keenly set on Autumn's sartorial horizon. As the heatwave abates, knee high boots and chore jackets are singing their siren song, though, I'm not quite ready to give up my summer dresses yet. Thankfully, according to Alexa Chung, I don't need to. The broadcaster and style icon has worn multiple iterations of a knee high boot (namely Celine's patent version) plus nightie mini dress (Dôen's Cecilia dress in particular) outfit recipe over summer and I find it very charming. Hero-ing a key trend of the summer - the nightie dress - and adding a 1960s, Françoise Hardy-esque vibe with the boots, Chung ensured her flimsy minis could withstand the every-changing Great British summer. I tried the combination myself, wearing a vintage nightdress I've had shortened with my Dear Frances boots, adding a vintage Mulberry bag and an &Daughter vest for the temperate weather. Chloé's recent Resort collection also features a similar look - with a pair of brown, over-the-knee, heeled boots styled with a silk, lace-trimmed slip-style nightie dress. The pairing is an easy way to make your nightie mini work harder: extending its life from summer into autumn and offering a more polished feel. 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' S3: How to Shop Belly's Outfits
After two long years, The Summer I Turned Pretty is finally back on our screens, transporting us to Cousins Beach one last time. There's plenty to unpack following this week's season premiere (new episodes will drop weekly until the series finale on September 17), but right now, we're avoiding spoilers and focused on the clothes. Whether you're #TeamJeremiah or #TeamConrad, we can all agree that when it comes to Belly's effortless and casual style, it's impossible not to be obsessed. With the show delivering memorable fashion moments (like Season 1's debutante ball looks or Belly's retro rollerskating 'fit from Season 2), we can't wait to see both the drama and the outfit inspo Season 3 has in store. Luckily, Belly's style is easy to shop for and recreate IRL. (There are exact matches on the show's Amazon storefront, and brands like American Eagle are dropping merch). To celebrate the return of the summer's most dramatic love triangle, we curated some of our favorite looks from Season 3 so far, like coastal-inspired outfits fit for a New England summer to pieces that are perfect for campus strolls, just in time for back to school season. For a quintessential collegiate look, you can't go wrong with Belly's effortlessly styled oversized Beta Sigma Nu Crest hoodie, which she probably swiped from Jeremiah—but you can find on Amazon. The piece that absolutely caught our eye, though? Her amazing cherry red cat eye sunnies. Finish off the look with your fave biker shorts and your go-to sneaks. While The Summer I Turned Pretty has always been packed with summer fashion inspo, this season's flashbacks and campus setting give us a glimpse into Belly's school year style. Case in point: This classic look, complete with a simple black mini, oversized denim, loafers, and the pièce de résistance, a darling pair of ruffled socks. Honestly, you probably have most of the pieces to re-create this look hiding in your closet, but if not, we've found 'em for you below. Leave it to Belly to make heartbreak look so good. After receiving devastating news (no spoilers here, I promise!), she styles sweatpants made for bed-rotting with a sleek and satin-y varsity jacket—and somehow, it kind If you're not into wearing your sweats out in the wild, a bomber looks just as good when paired with denim or a mini. And if you're curious about Belly's classic leather backpack, it's part of Coach's collab with The Summer I Turned Pretty, but currently out of stock. The first two episodes of the season were light on the expected coastal fashion, but Belly made up for it with a blue and white dress fit for a New England summer. Granted, she wore it to a frat party, but we'll take it. Belly sports a ton of Reformation dresses throughout the show, and the closest match I've found is this nearly-sold out option, but trust: There are still plenty of grandmillennial-inspired dresses out there you can snag and wear while summer lasts. Don't forget a pair of strappy espadrilles to pair it with! As both a #TeamConrad girlie and a seasonal pajama connoisseur, I obviously needed all of the details about the red set Belly was wearing when she and Conrad unexpectedly spend a cozy Christmas together in Cousins. Sadly, my fashion detective findings revealed that Belly's Dôen set is no longer available—but don't fret! I scoped out a ton of options that embody Belly's cottagecore vibe, including a tank-and-shorts set in case you can't wait until summer ends to steal her look. Dakota Johnson and Camila Morrone Are Obsessed With This Cult-Favorite Brand
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. If you've been paying close attention to what the best-dressed celebrities are wearing this summer, the winning outfit formulas often include a special item from the Dôen brand. From Dakota Johnson to Camila Morrone, the L.A.-based label has become a go-to for finding unapologetically feminine dresses. But the brand has so much more to offer: Think luxurious button-down shirts perfect for the office or for elevating weekend outfits and nostalgic shoes that lean into the sweet vintage-inspired aesthetic that the brand does so well. If you're thinking about adding some pieces to your wardrobe, let this edit of meticulously crafted essentials be your guide to the Dôen items that are worth investing in. Camila Morrone has an enviable collection of summer whites by the brand. While in Mallorca with bestie Hailey Bieber, she wore two different styles: a hand-knit dress featuring a 1920s-inspired cape and a now-sold-out crochet caftan. Don't worry—you can also shop Morrone's white Dôen Sebastiane Skirt and Simona Dress, which are perfect for vacation and summer-in-the-city escapades. Dakota Johnson leans into Dôen's romantic florals in real life and on the big screen. Most recently, she paired the Elowena Skirt with a bikini while vacationing in Ibiza. And in Materialists, she wore the sold-out Alona Top and Nevara Dress in a yellow hue. While that exact shade isn't available, there's a soft blush version that's just as chic. Meghan Markle's timeless style is anchored with tried-and-true tops by Dôen, from wear-on-repeat sweaters to sharp striped shirts that are worthy of owning in every color. Follow Markle's lead and invest in the print that will never go out of style. Kaia Gerber relies on her velvet Dôen Mary Jane slippers to anchor her best casually chic outfits. In the past, the rich material might have been reserved for colder months, but Gerber proves they're just as stylish in the summer. Plus, the brand has a host of flat shoes available to shop now.
