
Father, two children hurt in crash at Pulau Indah junction
KUALA LUMPUR: A man and his two children sustained minor injuries following a three-vehicle crash at the Jalan Dato Hormat-Jalan Rahmat intersection in Pulau Indah at 7.16am today.
The incident, recorded in a 35-second video that went viral online, involved a motorcycle and two cars.
South Klang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ramli Kasa said the motorcyclist had been travelling from Jalan Dato Ahmad Razali to Jalan Dato Harun when a Perodua Myvi failed to stop at the intersection and struck the motorcycle.
"As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist was flung onto the bonnet of another vehicle, while both children were thrown onto the road," he said in a statement.
The victims were treated for minor injuries at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police have located an 80-year-old man, believed to be suffering from Alzheimer's disease, who was seen riding a motorcycle against traffic without wearing a helmet. Customer service officer charged over fatal crash and drug trafficking
TEMERLOH: A 38-year-old customer service officer has been charged with four offences, including drug trafficking, possession and dangerous driving that led to a crash killing two teenagers, at the magistrates' court here today. For the first charge, he was accused of trafficking 50.85g of methamphetamine in front of the Temerloh police headquarters lobby at 12.30am on June 12. Chun only nodded his head after the charge was read out to him under Section 39B(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the mandatory death penalty or life imprisonment, and whipping not less than 15 strokes if not sentenced to death, upon conviction. However, no plea was recorded as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court. On the second charge, Chun is alleged to be in possession of 0.85g of heroin at the same time and location. He claimed trial to the charge read under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act which carries a maximum fine of RM100,000 or a jail term of up to five years, or both. According to the third and fourth charge, Chun was accused of driving dangerously in a manner that caused the death of Nur Erdina Shaffiya Muhammad Nazri and Aneez Irdiena Sofya Khairul Azman, both 18. The act was allegedly committed at the Jalan Tengku Ismail traffic light junction about 10.50pm on June 11. He pleaded not guilty to both the charges which were read separately. Chun faces charges under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving, which carries up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to RM50,000 upon conviction. Chun was represented by the National Legal Aid Foundation's counsel Siti Fatimah Mohd Shahril while deputy public prosecutors Adriana Azri and Siti Sarah Aqilah Lokman handled the prosecution. Tan fixed Sept 18 for the mention of the first and second charges, while the third and fourth charges will be heard on July 17. She also ordered Chun's driving licence be suspended until the trial concludes. The accused was allegedly involved in an accident that killed two teenagers on a motorcycle.
