Chun Kok Keong claimed trial to three of the charges, while no plea was recorded over the drug-trafficking charge in front of magistrate Tan Chiew King.
For the first charge, he was accused of trafficking 50.85g of methamphetamine in front of the Temerloh police headquarters lobby at 12.30am on June 12.
Chun only nodded his head after the charge was read out to him under Section 39B(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries the mandatory death penalty or life imprisonment, and whipping not less than 15 strokes if not sentenced to death, upon conviction.
However, no plea was recorded as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
On the second charge, Chun is alleged to be in possession of 0.85g of heroin at the same time and location.
He claimed trial to the charge read under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act which carries a maximum fine of RM100,000 or a jail term of up to five years, or both.
According to the third and fourth charge, Chun was accused of driving dangerously in a manner that caused the death of Nur Erdina Shaffiya Muhammad Nazri and Aneez Irdiena Sofya Khairul Azman, both 18.
The act was allegedly committed at the Jalan Tengku Ismail traffic light junction about 10.50pm on June 11.
He pleaded not guilty to both the charges which were read separately.
Chun faces charges under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving, which carries up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to RM50,000 upon conviction.
Chun was represented by the National Legal Aid Foundation's counsel Siti Fatimah Mohd Shahril while deputy public prosecutors Adriana Azri and Siti Sarah Aqilah Lokman handled the prosecution.

She also ordered Chun's driving licence be suspended until the trial concludes.
The accused was allegedly involved in an accident that killed two teenagers on a motorcycle.
