In the world of beauty pageants, it is always the glamour and beauty that take the center stage. But nearly six decades ago, there was a woman who represented India on a global stage at a beauty pageant, but unlike other contestants, she wasn't an actor or a model; rather, she was a doctor who won the title of Miss world and her victory stood out as a moment of pride, not just for her but the entire nation.
The person we are talking about is none other than Dr. Reita Faria. Being the first Indian and Asian woman to win the title of Miss India in 1966. She wasn't somebody who was intrigued by the world of glamour; rather, she was more academically inclined and was a professional doctor. She completed her medical studies from Grant College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals in Mumbai. After completing her studies, she even pursued modelling for a year, but eventually she stayed on her goal of becoming a doctor.
Being away from the world of the limelight, she didn't plan the enter this industry; rather, it was her friends who encouraged her to participate as a joke. Rita didn't have any designer sources; therefore, she borrowed clothes from her friends to enter the pageant. Without any training, she went on to participate and owned the global stage by winning the title of Miss World. Rita proved that the brain always outshines beauty.
What stood out in her journey was her reply in the final round. Rita was asked why she wanted to become a doctor, to which she confidently replied, 'There is a huge need for gynecologists in India. After winning the crown, she stayed on her purpose and got back to pursuing medicine. Later, in 1991 she tied the knot with endocrinologist Dr. David Powellnd and moved to Dublin, Ireland, where she continued her medical career and raised two daughters.
Dr. Reita Faria has defied stereotypes and redefined what it means to be a beauty queen. Her story proves that intellect and compassion are the true crowns one can wear with pride.

War 2 worldwide box office collection day 4: Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR film beats L2 Empuraan, Raid 2's lifetime haul

War 2 worldwide box office collection day 4: War 2, one of the most ambitious films of the YRF Spy Universe, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, released in theatres on August 14. Despite clashing with Rajinikanth's Coolie, the film has managed to maintain its hold at the box office and has now secured a place among the top five highest-grossing Indian films of 2025. Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani's still from War 2. War 2's box office collection in 4 days According to Sacnilk, War 2 earned ₹174.75 crore net in India in four days ( ₹208.25 crore gross). On Sunday, the film earned ₹32.15 crore, down 3.31% from its Saturday haul of ₹33.25 crore. Internationally, the film has earned ₹60 crore gross overseas. This takes the total worldwide collection to ₹268.25 crore in four days. The film, however, is clearly lagging behind Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. With this milestone, Ayan Mukerji's directorial has surpassed the lifetime collections of Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan ( ₹265.5 crore worldwide), Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh's Raid 2 ( ₹237 crore worldwide), Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par ( ₹267.5 crore worldwide), and the animated film Mahavatar Narsimha ( ₹267 crore worldwide). The film is now inching closer to overtaking Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 ( ₹288.58 crore worldwide). The film has now emerged as the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film of 2025. Leading the list is Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna, with a massive ₹800 crore worldwide. Saiyaara holds the second spot with ₹547 crore, followed by Coolie at third with ₹385 crore, and Housefull 5 at fourth. About War 2 Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is the sixth instalment in the YRF Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3. Apart from Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, the film also stars Ashutosh Rana and Kiara Advani in key roles. The film opened to mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, with many criticising its dull writing and poor VFX. OG War and Pathaan's assistant director Rajvir Shahir also criticised the film and wrote on Instagram, 'This one was just a heartbreaking experience for me. I was rooting for this film, and all it did was upset me to no degree! A mid-first half is followed by a deplorable and overlong second. Neither did it have enough highs nor was it successful in resonating with me emotionally! The most 'anticipated' day turned out to be a 'colossal' disappointment. Weakest film of the universe (YRF Spy Universe)!'

Coolie And War 2 Combined Extended Weekend Worldwide Box Office: Rajinikanth, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR smash Rs 632 crore together in 4 days

Coolie and War 2 were unquestionably the year's two most anticipated movies. Coolie managed to, more or less, meet the desired weekend expectations while War 2 failed to do so. Coolie had a record Kollywood opening weekend of Rs 375 crore worldwide, but War 2 fumbled, collecting around Rs 257 crore. War 2, being a pricier and more wider appealing movie than Coolie, should have been doing more than Coolie, but that has not happened. Coolie And War 2 Pack A Global Opening Weekend Of Rs 632 Crore; Coolie Contributes 60 Percent Coolie took a lead of Rs 70 odd crore on the opening day itself, and it extended its lead to around Rs 118 crore the weekend. Coolie is trending slightly better than War 2, and that would mean that Coolie will end up with lifetime collections of around Rs 150 crore more than War 2, in the full run. Coolie targets a final number in the vicinity of Rs 500 crore while War 2 may find it difficult to reach Rs 350 crore. The combined collections of the two movies will fail to hit even Rs 900 crore worldwide and that's not good. There's nothing that affects reputation more than under-delivering, and that's what has happened here. Coolie And War 2 Pack The 3rd Biggest Global Weekend Of All Time For New Indian Movies Only 2 times, other than the last weekend where Coolie and War 2 smashed Rs 632 crore between them, did new Indian movies pack a global weekend of over Rs 600 crore. The first time it happened was in 2022 when KGF 2 and Beast, together, managed to smash over Rs 700 crore through their extended opening weekend. KGF 2 propelled the numbers, with contributions of over 70 percent. The second time it happened was when Pushpa 2, singlehandedly raked in around Rs 790 crore over its extended four day weekend. Coolie Targets To Become One Of Kollywood's Highest Grossing Movies Worldwide Both Coolie and War 2 may not be matching their potential. But that doesn't mean that Coolie is a flop or something. Coolie sets its eyes on the top 5 highest grossing Kollywood movies of all time. The top 5 list, currently includes 2 Rajinikanth movies, 2 Vijay movie and 1 film by Mani Ratnam. By the end of the run, Rajinikanth's film will have pushed out The GOAT from the top 5. He will have 3 films in the top 5 list, with 2.0 continuing to stay right on top. Yes, War 2 will likely end up as a flop, and become a rare film to not recover its budget at a time when non-theatrical revenues ensure that most films turn a profit. But, Bollywood actresses swear by it and never cheats the routine. Speaking specifically about their training preferences, Yasmin shared that Deepika, Alia, and Katrina all follow a combination of Pilates and functional training . Pilates, she explained, is a form of exercise that strengthens the body from the inside out. 'It's the perfect combination of strength and stretch. You feel strong from the core, and it doesn't leave you feeling exhausted,' she said. According to her, Pilates is not only effective physically but also enjoyable, something people actually look forward to. Functional training, on the other hand, focuses on everyday movement. Exercises like squats, lunges, planks, and push-ups improve joint strength, balance, coordination, and help prevent injury. It complements Pilates well, creating a well-rounded fitness routine that supports both performance and appearance. Yasmin also mentioned that Deepika, in particular, turned to Pilates after giving birth, using it to gently and effectively rebuild strength. She stressed that none of her clients chase unrealistic goals or try to copy another person's body. Instead, they stay connected to their own fitness journey, listening to what their bodies need and responding with care and dedication.
