Cardi B is back. The Bronx bombshell returned on Friday (June 20) with her thumping 'Outside' single, as she's ready to take over the summer.
Cardi announced plans for the song on Tuesday (June 17). 'We OUTSIDE this Friday,' she wrote on Instagram, which sent the Bardi Gang into a frenzy. She also unveiled the block party-themed cover art filled with a flowing fire hydrant and party remnants such as red Solo cups and dominoes.

Snippets of 'Outside' have surfaced in recent months courtesy of Cardi, and the positive reception has pushed her to an official release.
'I've been cuffed up too long, let me remind n—as,' she raps about ending her relationship with estranged husband Offset. 'Your favorite player on your favorite team, he in my DM.'
Cardi has laid low on the music front for much of 2025, with appearances on the Smurfs Movie soundtrack and Pardison Fontaine's 'Toot It Up.'
'Outside' is Cardi's first solo single of the year and hopefully leads into her long-awaited sophomore album. The 'WAP' rapper's Invasion of Privacy debut turned seven years old in April.
2025 has served as a new chapter for Cardi B, who is now in a relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs. The pair debuted as a couple while sitting courtside at a New York Knicks playoff game in May.
Cardi B's also been in mom mode, taking care of her three children with Offset, from whom she filed for divorce for a second time in July 2024. She posted photos of baby Blossom to Instagram for the first time earlier this week.

Cardi B Is Done Being Humble: The Sophomore Album Is Called Am I the Drama? and Baby, She Absolutely Is

Oh, you thought she was done? You thought she peaked with Invasion of Privacy. Baby, Belcalis Almanzar aka Cardi B aka Ms. Grammy Winner If You're Nasty just reminded the world that she's not your friend, she's your tyrant. And after seven long, drama-drenched years, she's finally back with the follow-up album we've all been begging for. Mark your calendars, girls and gays: Am I the Drama? drops September 19. And yes, mama, she absolutely is. Cardi B's 'Am I The Drama?' has already joined her own 'Invasion of Privacy' as the only female rap albums in history to spawn multiple #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Invasion of Privacy dropped in 2018 and promptly snatched a Grammy for Best Rap Album. It was the first solo female rap album to ever do that. Iconic. Historic. Unmatched. Since then, Cardi has been feeding us crumbs, granted, delicious ones. 'WAP,' 'Up,' 'Money,' and 'Bongos' stayed in rotation, not to mention collabs with everyone from Lizzo to Ye (before he lost his mind) to your problematic fave, Ed Sheeran. But a second full-length album? A mirage. A myth. A whisper in the wind. Until now. On Sunday, Cardi said bitch, it's time. She dropped the album title, the drop date, and the cover art like a mic at the end of a diss track. The cover? Oh, just Cardi casually posing with a flock of crows like she's the final boss in a gothic fashion RPG. Black veil. Feathers. Face beat to heaven. And that title? Am I the Drama? Please. She knew exactly what she was doing. 'Seven years of love, life and loss. Seven years I gave them grace, but now, I give them hell,' she says in the voiceover of her dramatic announcement clip, which is giving Shakespeare meets strip-club realness. She continues, 'I learned power is not given, it's taken. I'm shedding feathers and no more tears. I'm not back, I'm beyond. I'm not your villain, I'm your tyrant.' Let the church say AMEN. Cardi ain't just talking. She's already giving us a taste of the chaos to come. Her new single 'Outside,' which premiered at the ultra bougie Cannes Lions festival, dropped Friday and sis did not come to play polite. First of all, she took a lyrical machete to ex-husband Offset (again). No subliminals, no coy metaphors, she named names and aired the mess. And just in case you were wondering if she's lonely, think again. Cardi also name-drops Stefon Diggs, New England Patriots wide receiver and her new certified boo. A stunt. A flex. A lifestyle. At Cannes, Cardi reminded everybody why she is the culture. She opened with 'Bongos' (the twerk anthem with Megan Thee Stallion that we're still recovering from), and then proceeded to unleash an avalanche of hits: 'Bodak Yellow,' 'I Like It,' 'Money,' 'Up,' and of course, 'WAP' the wettest, wildest, most politically triggering piece of music this decade. Say what you want about Cardi, but her stage presence is unmatched. She doesn't just perform, she dominates. Now, let's not pretend there hasn't been chatter, and I do mean beef. Cardi's been under pressure from critics, stans, and that one particular fanbase who shall not be named (rhymes with Barbz). People have questioned her pen, her artistry, her relevance. And for seven years, she smiled. She giggled. She let y'all think she was slipping. But Cardi B is from the Bronx, baby. She never forgets. This album isn't just about music, it's revenge, rebirth, and a royal serve on a platinum platter. And if the title Am I the Drama? is any clue, this era is going to be messier, louder, and even more unbothered than the last. Cardi isn't dropping this album to fit in. She's dropping it to remind everyone who invented the modern female rap blueprint. She's got the industry shook, the timeline buzzing, and the rap girls scrambling to update their notes. If you thought Cardi was going to play nice, stay quiet, or fade away, then baby, you must've mistaken her for someone who doesn't have millions, a diamond plaque, and a Chanel-coded death grip on pop culture. Cardi B Announces Her Sophomore Album "Am I The Drama?"

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Am I The Drama?, Cardi B's newest album, will finally be released on September 19. It's her first full length project since her breakout debut album Invasion of Privacy in 2018. It has not been revealed yet what collaborators or special guest features will appear on the project. Bardi is back, everyone! Cardi B's fans have been waiting quite literally years for the anticipated follow up to her breakout debut album Invasion of Privacy. Now it seems, the wait is finally over. On Monday, the Bronx-born rapper announced (to much internet fanfare) that her sophomore album titled Am I The Drama? will be released everywhere on September 19, 2025. In true Cardi B fashion, the accompanying album cover is already iconic. For the image, the rapper is dressed in a red bodysuit complete with a swooping attached hood, matching fishnet tights, and some majorly high platform pumps. To add to the drama, Cardi B is surrounded by flying crows and a cloudy sky while she strikes a pose. Cardi B teased the release one day prior for fans, releasing a teaser video clip that helped set the tone for what lies ahead for the upcoming album. Crows also appeared in the quick vignette, following Cardi as she struts through a romantic garden and even appearing on the bust of her black gown. She also released the first single from her sophomore effort last week, an upbeat single girls anthem titled 'Outside'. The rapper opened up to Rolling Stone last year about the long delay between her first album and Am I The Drama? stating that she wanted to ensure that the project she released would ultimately be up to not just her standards, but also fully reflect how she's evolved as an artist. She also welcomed three children with her now estranged husband, rapper Offset, in the time between Invasion of Privacy and now. 'I'm a different person every single day,' she told the outlet of the creative input that went into the record. 'When I'm in a good mood and I'm with my friends, [I'm] like, 'Damn, I want my shit to be played in this club.' But then I might be mad with my man, so it's like now I want to do this song. But then I want to do a pop record. I want to do my sing-y shit.' Here's to hoping it will be worth the wait. Watch this space for updates on Cardi B's second album. What Will the Song of Summer Be? Vogue Editors Weigh In

Need a little help curating your go-to playlist for the next few months? Fear not: We at Vogue have put our heads together to compile our songs of the summer (so far). So, what made the cut? Pop records from Miley Cyrus, Addison, PinkPantheress, and Marina have us working up a sweat, along with new releases from the likes of Role Model, Alex G, and Haim. And the season has only just begun—meaning that we have a ton more bangers to look forward to. Watch this space! Here, Vogue's early contenders for the song of the summer. 'Fame Is a Gun' by Addison Rae Addison Rae wants it: the glitz, the chintz, the glamorous life. 'Fame Is a Gun' is an ode to the unapologetic pursuit of pop superstardom set to blissed-out smoky synths, with a Gregg Araki-esque music video to match. And that choreography? Equal parts uncanny and cunt. It's the perfect sunglasses-in-the-club, chain-smoke-and-yap-on-a-fire-escape-til-sunrise anthem. 'God gave me the permission, and when you shame me, it makes me want it more,' she sings in a muffled, twinkly soprano—a mantra to propel your silliest summery decisions. —Anna Caffola 'Outside' by Cardi B
