Dashcam footage released to the public shows a stolen Dodge Charger smoking Ohio troopers twice as they desperately try to keep up. The Hemi-powered Mopar smacks around the cops in their far less powerful cruisers. It's not even close to a fair fight.We don't see too many interesting chases from Ohio State Patrol, but of those we've covered they're a mix between utterly embarrassing and at least pretty good. Obviously, troopers there can't do the types of things they can in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, etc.
But we're not sure if troopers in those other states would've fared any better versus this stolen Charger. It looks like a Scat Pack, so it's a legitimately fast muscle car few police cruisers could catch.
For the first chase, as soon as it became obvious the trooper was going to give chase, thanks to the broken back window and lack of a license plate, the suspect just dropped the hammer and pulled away effortlessly. It wasn't even a contest.
Thanks to the might of the radio, another trooper sees the same distinct Charger a few hours later and tries to give chase. We emphasize the word 'tries' here because it's the same story: the police cruiser can't even begin to keep up with the Mopar muscle car.
The suspect wasn't smart enough to put a license plate on the stolen vehicle or fix the broken rear window. But he was smart enough to ditch the car after he was made twice. Police found the stolen Dodge ditched in a parking lot.
It also looks like the suspect driver hit something in his flight, damaging one of the tires. A witness tried helping the guy and his accomplice who arrived in another car, but couldn't figure out why they weren't more interested in getting the Charger's tire fixed. We guess fixing a stolen car doesn't seem like a good idea.
Thankfully, the owner should be getting the Dodge back with minimal damage, although the insurance company might total it out just for it being stolen.

Las Vegas man accused of shooting at officers after police find stolen vehicle
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas man faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, after he allegedly shot at police while running away, police documents show. Brodie Jarrett, 30, faces 16 charges after police said he shot at officers while running away after police found what they believed to be a stolen vehicle. On Wednesday, May 28, at around 9:45 p.m., officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were conducting an area check for suspicious vehicles in the 1900 block of North Decatur Boulevard. The officers found a 2019 Ram with a license plate that a records check showed was registered to a 2006 Dodge, according to an arrest report. One officer also saw a 'meth pipe' on the center console. Police spoke to an employee at a nearby Dotty's Casino, asking if she knew who drove the truck. The employee 'quietly' responded and 'subtly' pointed to a man, later identified as Jarrett, in the business who was holding a dog, the report stated. Jarrett stood up and began to leave the building. One of the officers attempted to speak to Jarrett, but he ignored the officer, dropped the dog, and ran from the officers, according to the report. As officers ran after Jarrett, they heard 'several' gunshots coming from where Jarrett was located. Ten gunshots were heard on body-worn camera footage, the report said. While officers attempted to contain a perimeter to search for Jarrett, a phone number registered to Jarrett called 911, claiming to be the victim of a carjacking. On Thursday, May 29, at around 3:30 a.m., officers found Jarrett on the patio of a residence in the 1700 block of Cordoba Lane. While police took him into custody, Jarrett recieved a 'minor dog bite' from an LVMPD K9, according to the report. During a search, police found an unloaded handgun magazine in Jarrett's pocket. Jarrett told police that he ran because he had a warrant for his arrest out of Oregon. He said that while he was running from police, he heard gunshots and thought the officers were shooting at him, the report stated. Jarrett told police he walked to Dotty's until confronted about the truck, when Jarrett claimed he got the truck from a 'friend of a friend' a week prior. When asked about a handgun, Jarrett claimed not to know anything about a gun. When police brought up video cameras from the area, Jarrett said he was done answering questions and asked for an attorney, according to the report. Jarrett was held at the Clark County Detention Center on a $350,000 bail. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 18. He faces the following charges: Two counts of attempted murder with the use of a deadly weapon Ten counts of assault on a protected person with the use of a deadly weapon Possessing, receiving, or transferring a stolen vehicle Resisting a public officer with a firearm Owning or possessing a gun by a prohibited person Carrying a concealed gun without a permit Court records show Jarrett was also charged with battery by a prisoner on June 4. West Lincoln homeowner assaulted during robbery
A West Lincoln homeowner was taken to hospital after being assaulted during an attempted robbery early Tuesday morning. At 4:50 a.m., Niagara Regional Police were called to an address on Canborough Road near the border of Haldimand County. Police said homeowners were alerted to two people trying to break into their vehicles. They went outside and attempted to scare the suspects off, police said. Police said one of the suspects assaulted one of the homeowners, resulting in minor injuries that required treatment at hospital. The suspects fled in a vehicle that was later found abandoned a short distance away. It turned out to be stolen from Hamilton, police said. The suspects then fled in a black Dodge Charger that had just been stolen from an address in Haldimand County. The Ontario licence plate on that vehicle is CSFM 216. Police said anyone who sees the vehicle should call 911 and not approach the occupants. The suspects wore face coverings. Because it was dark, a detailed description is not available, police said. Detectives are canvassing for witnesses and video footage in the area of Canborough Road and Caistor Gainsborough Townline Road. Police make another firearm-related arrest at Naperville Topgolf lot, total up to 12 for the year
Police apprehended another person on a firearm-related charge at Naperville Topgolf this weekend, putting the tally for the year at 12. Yezreel Salter, 26, of Lynwood, was taken into custody Friday night on one count each of felony aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, transportation or possession of open alcohol by a driver and possession of 10 grams or less of cannabis. Officers were performing a proactive foot patrol of the Topgolf parking lot at 3211 Odyssey Court when they observed suspected drugs, open alcohol and a handgun in plain view inside a parked, unoccupied Dodge Charger, according to Naperville police spokeswoman Kelley Munch. An inquiry into the registered owner of the car, determined to be Salter, indicated he did not possess a valid Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) card, Munch said. Officers watched for the vehicle's occupants to return, made contact with Salter as the driver and recovered an open bottle of tequila, cannabis and a loaded handgun, Munch said. Salter's next court appearance is scheduled for June 23, according to DuPage County court records. With his arrest, there have now been a dozen gun-related arrests in or near the facility's parking lot this year, Munch confirmed. Most recently, police arrested Delfino Andrade Jr., 32, of Chicago, on May 24 outside the business on felony charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance. In April alone, police made five such arrests in the facility's lot. Topgolf arrests this year started up again in early February after a nearly four-month break. Gun-related arrests outside the business have been making headlines for nearly two years. Ahead of this year, Naperville police made 25 arrests on gun-related offenses outside Topgolf between August 2023 and October 2024. tkenny@
