China, Pak behind atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh: Human rights activist Rabinder Ghosh
, a human rights activist from Bangladesh, on Sunday alleged that Pakistan and China are behind the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Ghosh made these claims in an interview with ANI, stating that despite the violence, Hindus in Bangladesh wish to stay in peace.
"We've received information suggesting that China is behind this, and Pakistan is also providing assistance. Pakistan has consistently supported the Bangladeshi Muslims, with their people and army arriving to help Muslims against Hindus," he stated.
"This raises questions about the future of our country. The purpose of Bangladesh's existence is being undermined. It's as if Pakistan has re-emerged after 54 years, which is an irony of faith. It's becoming impossible for Hindus to stay there, yet they wish to remain and survive in the country," he told ANI.
Ghosh alleged that forceful conversions of Hindus to Islam are taking place in Bangladesh, with many incidents of torture, intimidation, rape, and gang rape reported.

"The Hindu population is declining daily. Some are being forced to convert to Islam. There have been numerous incidents of torture, intimidation, rape, and gang rape. Forced conversions are ongoing, with three recent incidents being particularly unfortunate," he said.
He claimed that successive governments in Bangladesh have failed to take initiatives to protect the rights of Bangladeshi Hindus, with the current interim government under Muhammad Yunus also not taking any action.
"Despite three governments coming to power, none have taken initiatives to protect the rights of Bangladeshi Hindus. This led to the formation of Bangladesh Minority, which I'm president of. We know that our independence was achieved with the goal of establishing democracy, secularism, and four principles of law. However, since August 5, 2024, a reign of terror has begun under Muhammad Yunus' leadership," he alleged.
He stated that 2,336 incidents of violence against Hindus have been reported since Muhammad Yunus took charge as Chief Adviser of Bangladesh.
"Many Hindu homes have been burned to ashes, forcing them to flee. As a human rights defender, we've investigated the matter and found 2,336 incidents occurred during Yunus' tenure," he said.
Ghosh further alleged that no one has come to Bangladesh's assistance. "We achieved independence in 1971 to protect the rights of all citizens. It's unfortunate that this is happening, and no one has come forward to protect them," he said.
Ghosh expressed disappointment that the international community, including the United Nations, has remained silent despite their repeated pleas for help.
"The UN has not taken any action, despite our detailed descriptions of the situation. Women and children are being tortured, molested, and raped everywhere. We've provided shelter and food for their survival, but it's unfortunate that the government is not taking any action," he said
The current interim government in Bangladesh was formed under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus after the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a student-led uprising in August last year.

Ladakh [India], July 14 (ANI): Dalai Lama's recent visit to Ladakh underscored India's unique and vital role as the global center for authentic Buddhist learning and practice, a status that far surpasses China's constrained and politicised approach, according to The Dalai Lama Office. After a warm, jubilant welcome from Ladakhis, Tibetans, and other local communities, Dalai Lama emphasised the profound importance of India in preserving and nurturing Buddhist traditions, especially in light of the destruction inflicted on Tibetan Buddhist institutions by Chinese authorities. 'The precious traditions that we can learn and implement in daily life have declined in Tibet. Those who fled to India have had the responsibility of preserving these traditions,' said Dalai Lama. He recalled the chaos of 1959 that forced him to flee Tibet, and how the Government of India has extended 'immense support' and 'tremendous assistance' to Tibetan refugees, allowing the revival of monastic universities and rigorous scholarly debate on Buddhist philosophy. 'Unlike China, where religious freedom is severely restricted and political control undermines genuine spiritual teaching, India offers a free and flourishing environment for the study of Buddhism's deepest philosophical texts, including the Middle Way (Madhyamaka) and logic (Pramana) from the ancient Nalanda tradition. 'In China, the political situation is not stable, I feel it would be difficult to teach about Buddhism in a country where there is no freedom,' said Dalai Lama. He highlighted how Tibetan Buddhism's rich heritage of dialectical debate and scholarly rigour thrives in India's monastic centers, where students actively engage in philosophical discussions that cultivate insight and compassion. This open intellectual environment contrasts sharply with China's politicised, superficial promotion of Buddhism, often stripped of its transformative spiritual depth. Furthermore, Dalai Lama praised the Himalayan region's shared language, culture, and Buddhist lineage with Tibetans, stressing the critical role of Indian institutions in upholding and spreading the authentic Dharma for the benefit of all sentient beings. "ECI has been exposed," says AAP's Saurabh Bhardwaj ahead of Bihar polls
New Delhi [India], July 14 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj on Monday alleged that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is using the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar as a tool to manipulate voter lists ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in the state. Speaking to ANI, Bhardwaj said that the Commission has been 'exposed' in past elections in Delhi, Haryana, and Maharashtra, and accused it of engineering large-scale irregularities in the voters' lists to favour certain outcomes. 'The Election Commission has been exposed in the Haryana, Maharashtra, and Delhi elections. Before the Delhi election, we proved how to rig the elections; the names of genuine voters were deducted, and thousands of new voters were added. The way the election commission was exposed in Delhi, they knew that this exercise wouldn't work,' he told ANI. Bhardwaj further added, 'They are devising methods to manipulate the voter list. This is not a way to conduct elections. This means you are going to decide who will cast the vote and who will win.' Reacting to the same, Independent MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav, criticised the Election Commission of India, calling it 'Dhritrashtra' over their decision to revise electoral rolls in Bihar, and accused them of 'not respecting' the Constitution or following Supreme Court advice. Speaking with ANI, Pappu Yadav said, 'The Election Commission has already become 'Dhritarashtra'. They are neither following the Supreme Court's advice nor respecting the Constitution. The Supreme Court advised them and clearly stated that under no circumstances can you decide who is Indian and who is not. Work under the Constitution and include Aadhaar card along with other documents.' Meanwhile, the BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy supports the Election Commission of India on special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, saying it is the responsibility of the poll body to remove any 'Bangladeshi or Pakistani' from the voter list. Supreme Court has allowed EC to continue Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls while advising them to consider allowing Aadhaar, ration cards, and electoral photo identity cards as admissible documents to prove voter identity. A bench of Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Joymalya Bagchi stated in its order, 'We are of the prima facie opinion that in the interest of justice, the Election Commission will also include documents like Aadhaar, Ration Card, Voter ID card, etc. It is for the ECI to decide whether it wants to accept the documents or not, and if it does not, then provide reasons for its decision, which shall be sufficient to satisfy the petitioners. Meanwhile, petitioners are not pressing for an interim stay.' The Election Commission of India (ECI) said that till Saturday evening, 80.11 per cent of electors in Bihar submitted their forms, adding that the commission is moving ahead to complete the collection of Enumeration Forms (EFs) before the stipulated time of July 25. Bihar elections are expected to be held later this year in October or November; however, ECI has not announced an official date. While the NDA, consisting of the BJP, JD(U), and LJP, will once again be looking to continue their stint in Bihar, the INDIA bloc, consisting of the RJD, Congress, and left parties, will be looking to unseat Nitish Kumar. In the current Bihar Assembly of 243 members, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) consists of 131 with the BJP having 80 MLAs, JD(U)-45, HAM(S)-4, with the support of two independent candidates. The Opposition's INDIA Bloc has a strength of 111 members with RJD leading with 77 MLAs, Congress-19, CPI(ML)-11, CPI(M)-2 and CPI-2. (ANI)
