China, Pak behind atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh: Human rights activist Rabinder Ghosh

Rabinder Ghosh , a human rights activist from Bangladesh, on Sunday alleged that Pakistan and China are behind the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. Ghosh made these claims in an interview with ANI, stating that despite the violence, Hindus in Bangladesh wish to stay in peace. "We've received information suggesting that China is behind this, and Pakistan is also providing assistance. Pakistan has consistently supported the Bangladeshi Muslims, with their people and army arriving to help Muslims against Hindus," he stated. "This raises questions about the future of our country. The purpose of Bangladesh's existence is being undermined. It's as if Pakistan has re-emerged after 54 years, which is an irony of faith. It's becoming impossible for Hindus to stay there, yet they wish to remain and survive in the country," he told ANI. Ghosh alleged that forceful conversions of Hindus to Islam are taking place in Bangladesh, with many incidents of torture, intimidation, rape, and gang rape reported. Live Events "The Hindu population is declining daily. Some are being forced to convert to Islam. There have been numerous incidents of torture, intimidation, rape, and gang rape. Forced conversions are ongoing, with three recent incidents being particularly unfortunate," he said. He claimed that successive governments in Bangladesh have failed to take initiatives to protect the rights of Bangladeshi Hindus, with the current interim government under Muhammad Yunus also not taking any action. "Despite three governments coming to power, none have taken initiatives to protect the rights of Bangladeshi Hindus. This led to the formation of Bangladesh Minority, which I'm president of. We know that our independence was achieved with the goal of establishing democracy, secularism, and four principles of law. However, since August 5, 2024, a reign of terror has begun under Muhammad Yunus' leadership," he alleged. He stated that 2,336 incidents of violence against Hindus have been reported since Muhammad Yunus took charge as Chief Adviser of Bangladesh. "Many Hindu homes have been burned to ashes, forcing them to flee. As a human rights defender, we've investigated the matter and found 2,336 incidents occurred during Yunus' tenure," he said. Ghosh further alleged that no one has come to Bangladesh's assistance. "We achieved independence in 1971 to protect the rights of all citizens. It's unfortunate that this is happening, and no one has come forward to protect them," he said. Ghosh expressed disappointment that the international community, including the United Nations, has remained silent despite their repeated pleas for help. "The UN has not taken any action, despite our detailed descriptions of the situation. Women and children are being tortured, molested, and raped everywhere. We've provided shelter and food for their survival, but it's unfortunate that the government is not taking any action," he said The current interim government in Bangladesh was formed under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus after the ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a student-led uprising in August last year. "BJP laid red carpet for Bengali Hindus from Bangladesh": AIUDF MLA Rafiqul Islam slams Assam govt

Guwahati (Assam) [India], July 1 (ANI): AIUDF MLA Rafiqul Islam on Tuesday launched an attack on the Assam government over their decision of issuing Aadhaar cards only from the District Commissioner's office and alleged that BJP has let Bangladeshi Hindus in Assam. Rafiqul Islam told ANI, 'There is not a single Muslim who is a foreigner in Assam. Muslims have documents in their hands. They have complete records. Their voter list, land records, and father-grandfather's papers of NRC.' Attacking the BJP, he added, 'For those, the BJP has laid a red carpet, are Bengali Hindus coming from Bangladesh. Those who are still coming, and after 1971, they have come in millions. The same people who obtain their Aadhaar cards illegally will now be caught. Those whom the BJP targets and wants to take to the DC office, they have papers and genuine records.' The AIUDF MLA further stated that the arrangements at the DC office should be made to prevent people from having to stand in long queues. 'The arrangements should be correct. People should not have to line up after going there, people should not have to travel there for two days, three days, four days.' On the eviction drive by the Assam government, he stated that the government is not evicting certain individuals, but rather those who are landless. 'The suspected people are not getting evicted. This is the government's false claim. Evictions are taking place against landless people. They also have 200-year-old records, 400-year-old records. They are moving bulldozers into the house of the Gwalparia people. They are Gwalaparia; their origin is Rajbanshi. The Rajbanshis are older than Hemant Biswa Sarma.' To ensure that no illegal immigrant obtains an Aadhaar card, the Assam government has decided to implement a rule where Aadhaar cards for adults will only be issued by the District Commissioners (DCs), Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday. He further said that the decision to tighten Aadhaar issuance rules would aid the state government's efforts to safeguard its demographic profile. 'Last night, we pushed back 20 more Bangladeshis as part of our ongoing efforts to detect and push back illegal infiltrators. Very soon, we will implement a decision where Aadhaar cards for adult citizens will be issued only by DCs. This will ensure that no illegal immigrant can get an Aadhaar made and we can track and push them back easily,' Himanta Biswa Sarma said. 'We will make a decision on it in the next Cabinet meeting,' the Assam Chief Minister added. The tea plantation workers are an exception under the new Aadhaar card issuance policy. (ANI)

Dist admns told to set up ‘detention centres' for illegal B'desh nationals

Bhubaneswar: The state govt has initiated measures to deport illegal Bangladeshi immigrants , with district collectors receiving instructions to establish ' detention centres ' for holding foreigners until their repatriation. "We are in the process of finalising the SOP on identification and deportation of illegal Bangladeshis. Adequate detention or holding centres will be established to house Bangladeshis following their identification," a senior govt official told TOI. According to sources, all police stations have been asked to utilise human intelligence for identifying undocumented Bangladeshis under their jurisdictions. These individuals typically work as street vendors, construction labourers, masons and marine fishermen in Odisha. "We will register cases and initiate legal action against those illegal immigrants involved in organised crimes in Odisha. Those illegal foreigners, whose backgrounds are clean, will be deported without them facing any legal action," the official added. Officials note that Bangladeshi Hindus who entered India before Dec 31, 2014 may get exemption from deportation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch Bitcoin và Ethereum - Không cần ví! The drive gained momentum after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Official statistics reveal that Odisha identified 3,740 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants until 2021. Kendrapada reported the highest number at 1,649, followed by Jagatsinghpur with 1,112. Bangladesh shaking with fear after India's strong action against Pakistan, Yunus govt orders on Hindus for... India successfully thwarted Pakistani drone and missile attacks that attempted to target several military bases, including Jammu and Pathankot, on Thursday night. The Indian Armed Forces also foiled a similar bid at 15 places in the northern and western regions last night as tensions further escalated between the two countries following Operation Sindoor. The effect of India's tough stand and action against Pakistan is now visible in Bangladesh as well. The situation has become such that the local police have had to issue a separate alert for the safety of the Hindu community. There is a fear that the anger of India-Pakistan tension may fall on Bangladeshi Hindus. To avoid any riot, Bangladesh Police Headquarters (PHQ) has issued a letter on Wednesday directing police units to ensure the safety of minorities. Strict Instructions Issued From Police HQ As per the letter issued by the Bangladesh Police Headquarters, all the police units have been directed to give priority to the security of minority community specially Hindus. The instruction has been issued by the Operations Branch, signed by Additional DIG Shahzada Mohammad Asaduzzaman on behalf of the Inspector General of Police. Keeping An Eye On Border Areas And Social Media Authorities have instructed law enforcement to heighten security in border regions to prevent any potential incitement of violence or unrest targeting Hindus. This increased vigilance includes strict monitoring of mobile communications, internet activity, and social media to counter the spread of misinformation and hate speech that could destabilise the nation. Vigilance To Prevent Riots All police units have been directed to strictly prevent any kind of sabotage, provocative statements or attempts to incite communal tension in the country. Stringent action will be taken against any sort of conspiracy. The Bangladesh government has clarified that it doesn't want the law and order and the Hindu community to suffer the consequences of the tension between India and Pakistan. To preserve national peace and harmony, Bangladesh is taking preventive measures. Given the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the government is acting proactively to mitigate the risk of communal violence, a recurring problem in the country's history.
