
Class X supplementary exams in Andhra Pradesh from May 19
Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam district education officer (DEO) N Prem Kumar announced that the class 10 advanced supplementary examinations will be held from May 19. In an official statement issued on Wednesday, he also mentioned that open school class 10 and intermediate examinations will be conducted during the same period.For regular students, the exams will be conducted across 27 centres in the district, from May 19 to May 28, daily from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm.

He added that all necessary arrangements have been made and advised students to reach their exam centres at least one hour in advance. Regarding open school students, the open school society director Narasimha Rao said that class 10 and intermediate exams will be held from May 19 to May 24, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The intermediate practical exams will be conducted from May 26 to May 30, also from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.He further explained that 640 students will appear for the open class 10 exams to be held across 9 centres, and 814 students will take the open intermediate exams at 5 centres.According to officials, all arrangements have been made for the class X and intermediate advanced supplementary exams, which are scheduled to be conducted between May 19 and 28, and May 12 and 17, respectively. A total of 4,563 students will appear for the class X exams. For this, 27 examination centres have been set up, along with 27 chief superintendents, 27 department officials, four route officers, and four additional assistant route officers to manage the examinations. Mobile phones, watches, and electronic devices will not be allowed into the examination centres. The district police will impose Section 144 around the examination centres. APSRTC officials will arrange buses on the respective routes to ensure that students arrive at the exam centres on time.

DSC online exams begin smoothly in Tirupati
Tirupati: The District Selection Committee (DSC) online examinations commenced on Friday and will continue until June 30 across the district. On the first day, Tirupati District Collector Dr S Venkateswar inspected one of the examination centres – Annamacharya Institute of Technology, Venkatapuram, to ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the exams. During his visit, the Collector thoroughly reviewed the examination management and assessed the infrastructure provided for the candidates. He expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of exams at all centres across the district. In view of the ongoing summer conditions, the Collector examined key facilities such as drinking water, medical camps, and basic amenities. He instructed officials to keep Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) packets and emergency medicines readily available to provide immediate medical care if needed. To maintain transparency and uphold examination integrity, the Collector issued strict directions to the staff to prevent any malpractice. He was accompanied by District Education Officer (DEO) KVN Kumar during the inspection. According to the DEO, the DSC exams are being conducted at eight centres across the district. On the first day, exams were held at four centres in two shifts. In the morning session, 509 out of 573 registered candidates appeared, while in the afternoon shift, 508 out of 570 candidates attended. Meanwhile, the Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) extended support to the candidates by distributing buttermilk at the examination centres. TNSF Tirupati Parliament President Kotte Hemanth Royal, along with members Nanda Kishore, Gnanesh, Seenu, Aravind, Vishnu, and others, took part in the initiative. Speaking on the occasion, Hemanth applauded the NDA government's decision to fill 16,347 teacher posts through the DSC recruitment drive. He noted that this move would enable qualified candidates to begin working as government school teachers from the upcoming academic year, marking a significant step in strengthening the public education system.

Bright future of students shaped in govt schools: DEO
Nagarkurnool: Prof. Jayashankar Badi Baata (Back to School) program was formally launched on Friday across Nagarkurnool district. District Educational Officer (DEO) A Ramesh Kumar launched the programme at the mandal headquarters of Tadoor, Veldanda, and Kalwakurthy, unveiling brochures to mark the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised that government schools are the foundation for a bright future for students. He stated that the government is committed to providing quality education along with improved infrastructure in government schools. He further added that government teachers hold the responsibility of shaping students into capable individuals with high aspirations. He instructed all teachers to identify out-of-school children and take necessary steps to enroll them in government schools. The DEO also directed that the Badi Baata programme should be conducted as per schedule until June 19. He informed that on June 12, the day of school reopening, textbooks, notebooks, and uniforms will be distributed to students. He also recommended promoting the excellent results achieved by 10th-grade students in government schools at the local level to attract more enrollments. A pledge was administered as part of the Badi Baata initiative to reaffirm the commitment to education for all. The event was attended by Samagra Shiksha Coordinator Barapati Venkataiah, Textbook Manager Manapadu Narasimhulu, MEOs Srinivas Reddy, Shankar Naik, Chandrudu Naik, and several teachers and officials.

Collector Santosh Directs Officials to Intensify ‘Badi Bata' Campaign to Boost School Enrollment and Prevent Dropout
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has directed officials to implement the Badi Bata (School Enrollment Drive) program in a well-planned manner, not only to increase student enrollment in government schools but also to prevent dropouts. On Friday, a meeting was held at the IDOC Conference Hall with education department officials to review the Badi Bata program and the distribution of school uniforms. Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector emphasized the need to increase student enrollment in schools. He instructed that all students from classes 1 to 9 enrolled last academic year must be enrolled in classes 2 to 10 this year without fail. A clear list should be prepared showing which schools the children in Anganwadi centers will join, and welfare officers should ensure each child is enrolled accordingly. He stressed the identification of out-of-school children and the need to guide and enroll them in schools without exception. Daily action plans under the Badi Bata program should be submitted as reports. He also directed officials to visit every household, identify students studying in Anganwadi, government, and private schools, and update the village education register. The Collector instructed all officials to prevent child marriages and ensure that every child continues their education. He asked for awareness meetings to be conducted at the mandal level about school admissions. He also called for maintaining cleanliness and proper sanitation in schools. Parents should be made fully aware of the various benefits offered by the government to students studying in government schools, including free textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, digital education, scholarships, and other incentives. He further suggested promoting the academic success of Class 10 students in government schools to encourage enrollments. He instructed that high-quality school uniforms must be distributed to students by June 12, prior to the reopening of schools. APMs must ensure that the uniforms are submitted to Mandal Education Officers by June 11 without fail. Any school facing issues should submit detailed reports so immediate solutions can be provided. He also insisted that data on the number of students and the distribution of uniforms in each school must be available to avoid any complaints of students being left out. Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, Narsinga Rao, DEO Abdul Ghani, DPO Nagendram, Welfare Officer Sunanda, ED SC Corporation Ramesh Babu, Mandal Education Officers, APMs, and others attended the meeting.
