Bright future of students shaped in govt schools: DEO
Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised that government schools are the foundation for a bright future for students. He stated that the government is committed to providing quality education along with improved infrastructure in government schools. He further added that government teachers hold the responsibility of shaping students into capable individuals with high aspirations. He instructed all teachers to identify out-of-school children and take necessary steps to enroll them in government schools. The DEO also directed that the Badi Baata programme should be conducted as per schedule until June 19.
He informed that on June 12, the day of school reopening, textbooks, notebooks, and uniforms will be distributed to students.
He also recommended promoting the excellent results achieved by 10th-grade students in government schools at the local level to attract more enrollments.
A pledge was administered as part of the Badi Baata initiative to reaffirm the commitment to education for all.
The event was attended by Samagra Shiksha Coordinator Barapati Venkataiah, Textbook Manager Manapadu Narasimhulu, MEOs Srinivas Reddy, Shankar Naik, Chandrudu Naik, and several teachers and
officials.

Gujarat education department directs coordinators to avoid non-academic work
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat education department, under the Samagra Shiksha programme, issued a circular directing that block resource centre (BRC), cluster resource centre (CRC), and urban resource centre (URC) coordinators should not be assigned non-academic work unrelated to Samagra Shiksha. The order states that such tasks can only be given in unavoidable circumstances with approval from the state project director. The circular emphasises that coordinators are appointed to ensure the effective implementation of various education-related initiatives, including School of Excellence, PM Shri, Swami Vivekananda residential schools, model schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBVs), vocational education, inclusive education for children with special needs, and programmes for out-of-school children and girls. These require timely achievement of set targets, which gets affected when coordinators are diverted to other work. It was noted that district and taluka-level offices often assign non-Samagra Shiksha work to these coordinators, leaving them with insufficient time for core duties. To address this, the department reiterated earlier instructions that no unrelated tasks should be given. District level handwriting competitions to start on Aug 20
Karimnagar: Under the auspices of the Collector and DEO, Karimnagar district level handwriting competitions will be organised for government students, government officials and teachers in collaboration with the Paramitha Educational Institutions of the local city, said the Head of Paramita Educational Institutions, Dr E Prasad Rao. In this era of computers and artificial intelligence, we are almost getting away from our handwriting, which we considered very valuable for centuries. These days, we have almost stopped writing. Students are also finding it difficult to write, the hands that used to hold the pencil and pen since childhood are being forced to use cell phones. The hands that used to hold the pencil and pen are almost forgetting to write due to the use of mobile and computer. We all know that regular and good handwriting has many benefits, including preventing diseases like dementia that come with age, Dr E Prasad Rao said. To bring back handwriting to its former glory, the Collector and District Magistrate, Pamela Satpathi will be organising handwriting competitions for students of government schools (Classes 6 to 10) and government employees and government teachers separately on the following dates. School level competition for students are held on August 20 from 10 am to 10.45 am. Mandal level competition for students is held on August 25 from 10 am to 10.45 am. District level competition for students, government employees and government teachers are held on September 7 from 10 am to 10.45 am. District level venue is Paramita Heritage School at Padmanagar in Karimnagar At school level, three winners will get certificates. At Mandal level, three winners will receive certificates and prizes. At District level, students and employees, two each in two categories will receive Rs 5000 each as first prize. Two each in two categories will receive Rs 4000 each as 2nd prize Third prize winners for two each in two categories will get Rs 3000 each. Two each in two categories, will get Rs 2000 each as fourth prize. Two each in two categories will receive Rs 1000 each as Fifth prize. Consolation prizes of 5 will also be given in each category. The District Level Awards Ceremony will be held on September 15th at the Collectorate Auditorium, Karimnagar informed Dr E Prasad Rao. Students and government employees are requested to participate in these competitions and make them successful.

EWS quota in Andhra Pradesh: Notification for class 1 admissions out
VIJAYAWADA: The State government has issued an additional notification for Class 1 admissions in private unaided schools under the 25% quota for children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups for 2025-26. According to Samagra Shiksha, the notification is aimed at filling the remaining seats after earlier admission rounds. Online applications will be accepted from August 12 to 20, with eligibility verification on August 21. The lottery will be held on August 25, and final admissions will be completed by August 31. Parents can apply through the official website, where detailed guidelines will be available from August 12. Only schools within a 5 km radius of the applicant's residence will be shown, provided they have quota seats available. Sibling preference will be given if an elder child is already enrolled in the same school. Aadhaar details of the child, parents or guardian are mandatory. Income proof under EWS requires an AAY card or rice card. Children admitted in previous rounds or those declared ineligible under the BPL category cannot apply in this phase. Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B Srinivasa Rao urged parents to apply within the given dates.
