Nidhhi Agerwal Denies Asking For Andhra Pradesh Government Vehicle After Viral Video
Actress Nidhhi Agerwal recently found herself at the center of an unexpected controversy after a video showing her travelling in an Andhra Pradesh government car went viral. Visiting Bhimavaram for a store launch, she faced criticism and speculation about how the government vehicle came to be used during her trip. Nidhhi has now personally addressed the situation, explaining that she had no role in arranging the car and that the decision was entirely handled by the event organisers.
The actress explained that the local event organisers arranged transportation for her during the store launch event in Bhimavaram. 'I would like to address and clarify certain speculations circulating on social media regarding my recent visit to Bhimavaram for a store launch event," she said. 'During the event, the local organisers arranged transportation for me, which happened to be a vehicle belonging to the Andhra Pradesh government. I wish to clearly state that I had no role in requesting this vehicle, it was provided solely by the event organisers for logistical purposes."
Responding to online reports suggesting that government officials had directly provided the car, Agerwal firmly rejected such claims. She described these as 'completely baseless" and reiterated that she had no connection with government authorities in this matter.
'I deeply value my audience, and it is important to clarify my truth so that no misinformation is carried forward. I am grateful to my fans and well-wishers for their constant love and support," her statement added.

Her 2022 film Hero, with debutant Ashok Galla, garnered mixed reactions. Conversely, Kalaga Thalaivan, an action thriller directed by Magizh Thirumeni and starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Agerwal, received positive critical acclaim.
Nidhhi Agerwal is slated to appear as Panchami in Krish Jagarlamudi's Hari Hara Veera Mallu, expected to release in December 2024.

Coolie and War 2 spark backlash over steep ticket hikes in Telugu states
Rajinikanth's Coolie and Hrithik Roshan - Jr NTR starrer War 2 set for an epic clash on August 14. However the ticket pricing in Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana (TS) has ignited a storm online from Monday. Distributors are awaiting government approval for special hikes that could push multiplex tickets to Rs 300 - Rs 550, significantly higher than in the films' home markets, Rs150 - Rs 200 for Coolie in Tamil Nadu and Rs180 - Rs 250 for War 2 in North India. The gap has triggered sharp reactions across X (formerly Twitter), with many calling the hikes 'exploitative.' @Just_Spidye questioned the policy: 'Why Tamil [films] imposed in Andhra & Telangana? Why giving hikes for Tamil films? This is shame of TFI.' Others, like @ranjithNBK, pointed to audience behaviour, 'For a Tier 1 hero, people will go even with hikes… but for Coolie, it's a risk. If talk is bad, huge drops from day two.' The disparity has also drawn political jabs. @LoveIndia163 asked, '#Coolie in TN – Rs 150- Rs 200, #War2 in North – Rs 180-Rs 250, Telugu States – Rs 300-Rs 550? WTH?' Similar sentiments were echoed by many users and the topic has been trending on X.

Rajinikanth's Coolie has a Christopher Nolan movie inspiration: Guess the unexpected Hollywood twist
Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj , known for blending Indian cinema with global influences, has reportedly drawn inspiration from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight for his upcoming film Coolie. According to Tollywood star Nagarjuna Akkineni, who plays the villain in the film, Lokesh referenced Heath Ledger's iconic Joker for the character's costumes and overall vibe. Pinkvilla reported that Nagarjuna explained in a conversation with Shruti Haasan that the director wanted to capture the 'madness' he saw in Joker, particularly through the costume design. 'I think Loki had Heath Ledger's Joker in his mind, and he wanted that madness. He probably saw the madness in the colour as well,' Nagarjuna said, highlighting the unique purple-and-cream costume he dons in the movie. I never wore those colours.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas In Dubai | Search Ads Get Rates Undo Describing the outfit as unconventional, Nagarjuna added, 'It is a very strange dress. I mean, even for me, it's baggy pants.' Shruti Haasan agreed, observing that the costume combines elements of both Heath Ledger's Joker and the traditional Joker imagery. Nagarjuna humorously remarked that he was 'glad he didn't put on that smile.' Preparing for a Negative Role Nagarjuna, who has predominantly played heroic characters, revealed that he approached this negative role differently. He recorded the narration for the first time and took detailed notes before agreeing to play Simon, the character inspired by Joker. The actor reflected, 'The story starts with Simon's character. For the first time, I've recorded the narration and made notes to decide on the character. I never did this earlier.' Even Superstar Rajinikanth, playing the titular role, was reportedly impressed with Nagarjuna's portrayal. 'After the shot was over, Rajini sir nodded and said 'hmmm' (with a sweet smile),' Nagarjuna recalled. Coolie, featuring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Aamir Khan, is releasing in theatres on August 14.

Prajakta Koli and Surveen Chawla's 'Andhera' web-series review: It's more than just a horror show
Credit must be given to the makers to put together all their ideas and mix it into one show. Even when it overstays its welcome and is marred by inconsistent vein, Andhera ultimately feels like a tolerable attempt Cast: Priya Bapat, Karanvir Malhotra, Prajakta Koli, Surveen Chawla, Vatsal Sheth, Parvin Dabas, Pranay Pachauri Director: Raaghav Dar Language: Hindi Prime Video's Andhera begins with a couple's homily conversation on a CGI-coded beach that soon morphs into the show's first jump scare. We get another one before the opening credits begin to roll, and by the time we reach the third episode, the total goes up to 786 with little exaggeration. It's hard to describe what the show is aiming for since the makers bite more than they can chew. It has multiple pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that creator Gaurav Desai and director Raaghav Dar try to intertwine with hit and miss results. But they do try to legitimize the moniker by keeping things in the dark, both for the characters and the viewers. And there are endless conversations about how they feel darkness around them. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD A bruised Priya Bapat who's investigating the case of a missing girl has visions about her traumatic past that leads her to the omnipresent Surveen Chawla. An encounter supposedly for healing exposes her sexual identity. The social subtext is handled with care and restrain. The other piece of this puzzle is Karanvir Malhotra, who's battling depression and PTSD. He's terrorized by an evil spirit whose screeches bring back memories of Vikram Bhatt's endless 1920 franchises. There's Prajakta Koli, (almost) playing herself, called Rumi. Given the noir splashed on us, this name suggests she could be the only character to lighten up the scene. The idea to keep the frames gloomy is unquestionably intentional. They are mostly bathed in blue, and all the spots are soulless set-pieces, be it a children's healthcare or a police station or a content creator's workplace. People in Andhera don't use electricity purely to make sure they are able to justify the name of the series. Unlike Prime Video's Khauff, which was more brutal and visceral in its telling, this one aims for a Bollywoodized treatment that adds jump scares more for effect than impact. And given the changing and evolving landscape of horror, especially with Together and Weapons recently, Andhera, despite the heightened ambitions, gets dwarfed in the crowd only because of its inability to decide what tone to adapt to. That's not to say it's a sore thumb. The idea to create a concoction and cocktail of mental health, sexual identities, supernatural, and horror is as ambitious on paper as it's on screen. The creepy yet crackling visuals accompanied by a daunting background music, especially towards the end of episode three, give the show the mood it needed and deserved. What takes away the essence of the narrative is the ill-timed humour. A scene where Rumi and Jay invite the evil spirit is so Jaani Dushman-esque that you yearn for Raj Babbar's hysterical expressions while calling Manisha Koirala's Divya with all his eroticism. The long-lost Kavin Dave makes an appearance that feels straight out of I Hate Luv Storys. There are some glaring cliches too. Two male police officers deride a female cop for what else but her gender. She has a cringe cohort that cracks lunatic jokes. But the real issue here is the big reveal! Why he did what he did! It could be acquired taste. It's not your usual revenge saga. It has to do something with human consciousness and immortality. After ticking the boxes of horror, comedy, whodunnit, Andhera makes an endeavour to veer into the space of sci-fi. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Credit must be given to the makers to put together all their ideas and mix it into one show. Even when it overstays its welcome and is marred by inconsistent vein, Andhera ultimately feels like a tolerable attempt. But do you know how it feels when you feel a film or a show that could have been so much more ends up being middling? DARK! Rating: 3 (out of 5 stars) Andhera is now streaming on Prime Video
