Worth a lot more than Diddly Squat! Clarkson's Farm fan, 25, wins £5m 17th century Cotswolds house - and is delighted the TV star will be his new neighbour

Daily Mail06-06-2025

A Clarkson's Farm fan has won a £5million 17th century house in the Costwolds - where he will become Jeremy's new neighbour.
Anthony Martin has celebrated winning a five-bedroom country house in the latest Omaze Million Pound House Draw.
The 25-year-old's new home comes with a heated pool and stunning views of the Cotswolds countryside.
He has also won £250,000 in cash and can choose to live in the house, rent it out for a supplementary income or sell it to become a cash multi-millionaire.
Anthony has become the second youngest Omaze Grand Prize winner and his mansion only cost him £25, having only started his subscription last month.
The deckhand was born in Asia and currently lives with his family in Cambridgeshire.
Anthony revealed he'd never been to the Cotswolds before, but is a fan of Clarkson's Farm saying he 'can't believe I'm pretty much Jeremy's neighbour now'.
Anthony said he was backpacking in Spain when he heard the news of his win.
He said: 'I didn't have any credit on my phone, so I didn't see any of the missed calls or emails at first, but when I eventually topped up and saw all the messages, I started to think I might have won something pretty decent.
'When Omaze actually called me to say I'd won the £5 million house in the Cotswolds, I was stunned. That's not a call you get everyday, I just couldn't believe it, I was in total shock. I had to call them back to make sure it was real
'One minute I'm staying in a hostel, in a 15-bed dorm, then the next thing I know I'm a multimillionaire - that was an unexpected upgrade for sure.
'I had a couple of beers to celebrate, but nothing too wild as I had to be up early - not that it made much difference as I probably only slept for 20 mins, my mind was whirring trying to process what had just happened.'
Asked about the house, Anthony said: 'This is my first time in the Cotswolds and I can see what all the fuss is about, it's beautiful around here.
'The house is stunning, the walk-in fridge is bigger than my current kitchen… and that's just the fridge.
'Everything has been done so nicely, I love it. I'm looking forward to diving into the pool and hosting all my friends and family in such an amazing house.
'I've been watching Clarkson's Farm and I can't believe he's going to be my neighbour now, it's just crazy.
'At 25 I hadn't even considered owning so much as a garden shed yet, but now my first property is a £5 million house - it's so surreal.
'I've been working as a deckhand on yachts for the past year, so I'm more used to sleeping below deck in cramped bunk beds than places like this - I can stand up straight in this place for a start.
'We'll be having a huge family Christmas here. There are around twenty of us and I'm normally the one who ends up sleeping on the floor, but now I'm guaranteed a bed as I'll be hosting everyone else for change!'
On what his big win means for the future: 'It's a case of second time lucky - I only started entering Omaze last month, so it's definitely paid off.
'Thanks to the £250,000 I also get as part of the win, I could afford to stay here for years if I wanted to.
'I don't know what I'll do yet, I've got a lot to think about, but this win has changed my life forever - my future is sorted now, whatever I decide to do, it's an incredible feeling.'
As well as making Anthony a multimillionaire, the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, Cotswolds, raised £4.2million for Guide Dogs.
Andrew Lennox, CEO at Guide Dogs said: 'We are truly overwhelmed that an incredible £4.2 million has been raised for Guide Dogs through the Omaze Million Pound House Draw.
'Every day, 250 people in the UK begin to lose their sight —that's one person every six minutes. Without the right support, sight loss can be profoundly isolating. Thanks to the generosity of the Omaze community, we can provide life-changing services that empower people with a vision impairment to live the life they choose.
'The money raised will fund 1,350 puppies during their first eight weeks of life and cover the cost of expert care to their mums and dads. It will also fund a year's worth of food for all 3,200 working guide dogs.
'With your support, Guide Dogs can continue opening up a world of opportunity for people with sight loss across the UK and each Omaze player of this draw who sees a guide dog at work in the next 10 years, will know that they had a hand in making that partnership a reality.'
James Oakes, President of Omaze, said: 'Everyone at Omaze is over the moon that Anthony has won this spectacular house in the Cotswolds, whilst also contributing to our huge raise for Guide Dogs.

Councillor's joy as grandfather Eric Ravilious' work tops art poll

The granddaughter of war artist Eric Ravilious said she was "delighted" one of his works had been named as the world's best-loved railway artwork from the in 1940, Train Landscape shows the chalk white horse of Westbury, Wiltshire, through the window of a third-class train Ravilious, who is a Labour councillor in York, said it was "really lovely" to hear how many people loved the UK and Railway 200 organised the ballot, which drew votes from around the world, as part of events to mark the 200th anniversary of the modern railway. She said the watercolour may never have seen the light of day however, were it not for her grandmother, Tirzah Garwood, who pieced it together from works her grandfather had discarded."I think my granddad and my grandmother would have been delighted because she had a lot to play in this painting too," Ms Ravilious said."My granddad was a perfectionist in his work and about a third of the pieces he decided weren't worth keeping and in this case my grandmother could see the potential."He had a whole series of paintings that he'd done that he wasn't happy with." Asked why the painting, which is on display at Aberdeen Art Gallery, had topped the poll, she said she believed that era of artwork was gaining popularity."Perhaps it's a bit of a nostalgia for a past. His view of the landscape, other people have described it as evoking a kind of Englishness we all love."Ravilious, who grew up in Sussex, was a painter, designer, book illustrator and wood-engraver who later became a war was the first war artist to die on active service in 1942, meaning Ms Ravilious would never meet him."Sadly in 1942 he was sent to Iceland and he went off on an air-sea rescue mission and the plane never returned."She said he had left a vast amount of work behind."We still have his lovely paintings to remember him by and that's how I know him, through his paintings." ‘Horrendous coincidence': Mark Wright sorry for post after Air India tragedy

Mark Wright, the former The Only Way is Essex star, has apologised for an 'inappropriate' Instagram post shared shortly after the Air India plane crash that killed over 250 people. The post, featuring Wright, his wife Michelle Keegan, and their baby in front of a private jet, complained about leg room on standard planes. Followers criticised the timing of the post, prompting Wright to remove it and explain it was pre-scheduled before the crash. Wright called it a 'horrendous coincidence' and apologised 'for this mistake and any offence caused'. The Air India flight crashed in Gujarat five minutes after takeoff, and a British national was the sole survivor. An investigation has been initiated with UK team involvement.
