Top stock market recommendations:
According to Aakash K Hindocha, Deputy Vice President - WM Research, Nuvama Professional Clients Group, Hero Motocorp, Tata Power are the top buy calls for today.
Solar Industries India is a sell call.
Here's his view on Nifty, Bank Nifty and the top stock picks for July 17, 2025:
Index View: Nifty
Nifty traded broadly within its previous day's range, recovering its early morning losses to end with minor gains ahead of its weekly expiry due today. With downside targets seeming to be complete and fresh upside opens up only above 25325 closing, any 50-70 point dip is likely to get bought into for targets of 25320 odd for this week's trade.
Bank Nifty
Bank Nifty continuing its outperformance ended at a 5 day closing highs as its supports of 56750 got protected not once, but twice at the start of this week. With continuing outperformance against Nifty, Bank Nifty is now back on track to scale to fresh all time highs, unless a close below 56750 negates this formation on daily charts.
HEROMOTOCO (BUY):
LCP: 4424
Stop Loss: 4260
Target: 5000
Ending at a 6 month closing highs earlier this week, Hero Motocorp has given a breakout from its bullish cup and handle pattern along with a crossover from its 200 DMA.

This breakout also marks an end to the 8 week long consolidation seen on daily charts as the stock has shown signs of moving further northward given the price action positioned in a similar stance for a target of 5000 for now.
TATAPOWER (BUY):
LCP: 415
Stop Loss: 400
Target: 450
After holding above its 200 DMA all through the past week, the Tata Power stock has moved forward to breakout from its 6 month long cup and handle formation on daily and weekly charts ahead of its quarterly numbers.
This is accompanied by a higher low formation on daily charts repeated over 5 times in the past 3-4 months signalling presences of buyers at lower levels.
SOLARIND (SELL):
LCP: 15190
Stop Loss: 16000
Target: 13700
After a strong rally of 110% from its Feb 2025 lows to June 2025 highs, Solar Industries India has started showing profit taking as focus shifts from defence as a sector. Charts suggest that over 40-50% of this recent rally is likely to be retraced, however we are looking for targets of 13700-800 zone which also coincides with its previous breakout and consolidation zone. Stock has already corrected ~15% off recent highs in less than 3 weeks.

US-China trade talks: Donald Trump administration & Beijing may extend tariff pause by another 3 months, says report

Unlike China, other countries have an August 1 deadline to finalise trade deals with the US. (AI image) US-China trade deal: The world's two largest economies are expected to extend their current reciprocal tariff truce by another 90 days, according to a Reuters report quoting South China Morning Post. Another round of trade deal negotiations between the Donald Trump administration and China will take place in Stockholm on Monday. The current pause on reciprocal tariffs ends on August 12. The report said that the two sides may agree to another 3-month truce as they agree as trade deal negotiations continue. The report indicates that during this 90-day extension period, both nations will commit to refraining from implementing new tariffs or taking additional measures that could intensify the ongoing trade dispute. During recent meetings in Geneva and London that centred on "de-escalation", the upcoming discussions will see Chinese representatives addressing fentanyl-related tariffs with Trump's trade officials, the Reuters report said. The upcoming Stockholm talks on Monday will mark the third round of discussions between the United States and China, aimed at resolving the economic disagreements that have fuelled their ongoing trade dispute. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Struggling With Belly Fat? ‘Probably will know in an hour…': Donald Trump and EU chief begin trade deal talks in Scotland; seen as make-or-break

Donald Trump trade deals (AI image) US-EU trade deal: US President Donald Trump has begun trade deal talks with European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen in Scotland. Ahead of the talks, Trump spoke of the likelihood of a trade deal saying, '. .probably will know in an hour.' Trump and Ursula von der Leyen are looking to resolve a prolonged transatlantic trade dispute as the deadline approaches. Earlier Trump indicated a 50 percent probability of reaching an agreement with the European Union, which faces a reciprocal tariff of 30% unless a trade agreement is secured by August 1, with US officials confirming on Sunday that "no extensions" would be granted. Von der Leyen's European Commission, representing EU member states, is actively pursuing an agreement to protect trade relations valued at $1.9 trillion annually in goods and services. An EU diplomatic source told AFP that a framework for agreement emerged following late-night discussions on Saturday, several crucial matters remained unresolved. The ultimate decision remains with Trump. A diplomatic source was quoted as saying that while a political agreement exists, it awaits Trump's approval, who is maintaining negotiations until the final moment. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like If you have a mouse, play this game for 1 minute Navy Quest Undo The suggested arrangement includes a standard 15% tariff on European Union exports to the US, matching Japan's agreement, with exemptions for crucial industries such as aircraft and spirits, excluding wine. EU member states must ratify any agreement. Their ambassadors, whilst in Greenland, received updates from the commission and planned subsequent meetings following potential agreement confirmation. The EU representative indicated that the 27 nations broadly supported the proposed arrangement, whilst maintaining their established negotiating positions. The summit between Trump and von der Leyen is taking place at Turnberry along Scotland's southwestern shoreline, at the president's golf establishment, where he spent considerable time playing over the weekend. Trump, aged 79, expressed on Friday his aspiration to achieve a significant agreement with the EU. "I think we have a good 50-50 chance," the president stated, noting approximately 20 unresolved matters. Stay informed with the latest business news, updates on bank holidays and public holidays . Knowledge Realty Trust (KRT), a REIT sponsored by Sattva Group and Blackstone, has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to go ahead with its Rs 4,800-crore initial public offering . The public issue is expected to hit the market in the first week of August, according to PTI citing sources. Ahead of the IPO, KRT has already mobilised Rs 1,400 crore from institutional investors. The company had filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) in March this year, as part of its plan to monetise 30 premium office assets spread across key Indian cities, ANI reported. The REIT owns over 46 million sq ft of rent-yielding office properties across 29 locations in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Notable assets include One BKC and One World Center in Mumbai, Knowledge City and Knowledge Park in Hyderabad, and Cessna Business Park and Sattva Softzone in Bengaluru. Sattva Developers, headquartered in Bengaluru, has completed over 74 million sq ft of projects across seven cities, spanning commercial, residential, co-living, co-working, hospitality, and data centres. Another 75 million sq ft is currently in various stages of development. Global investment firm Blackstone continues to hold a substantial portfolio in India's commercial real estate sector.
