ROCKINGHAM, VT. (WTNH) — A father and 4-month-old son were killed in an accident on I-91 North Saturday morning, police say.
Vermont State Police identified the victims as 39-year-old Taylor Binnington and 4-month-old Parry Lake, form North Haven.
Police say Binnington was pronounced dead at the scene and Lake was life-flighted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries.
Binnington's wife and 3-year-old son were also in the car at the time of the accident. They both were transported to DHMC for their non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the crash consisted of over 10 cars with two vehicles being involved in the fatal crash. A 2024 Peterbilt 200 fuel tank truck was rear ended by Binnington's vehicle, a 2022 Hundai IONIQ 5, according to officials.
Police concluded the crash was caused by the deteriorated roads and low visibility in a snow squall. Binnington's vehicle could not stop due to the slipper road conditions, according to officials.
