Dhanashree Verma REVEALS Why She Moved To India Amid Yuzvendra Chahal's Comments On Divorce
Dhanashree Verma grew up in Dubai and even completed her high school education from there before moving to India.
Popular dancer Dhanashree Verma, who is also cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal's ex-wife, is currently in Dubai following a messy divorce. What many may not know is that she has strong ties to Dubai, and the trip is more significant for her than any other vacation. Dhanashree was born and raised in Dubai, where she spent a crucial part of her early life. But why did she move to India? Dhanashree has answered this question in her latest Instagram post.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, Dhanashree said, 'I have always been a Dubai kid. I've done my high school here. I studied at Modern High School. But then, yes, I moved back to India to study dentistry. I am also actually a dentist by profession."
However, Dhanashree revealed that she left dentistry has the creative part of her personality didn't feel satisfied, and she wanted to do more. Now, Dhanashree is a popular dancer, choreographer and social media influencer. Besides being a social media personality, she was also recently seen performing a dance number in Bhool Chuk Maaf with Rajkummar Rao.
Dhanashree Verma is in the news again after her former husband and cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal, made revelations about his divorce on Raj Shamani's podcast. The cricketer broke his silence on the viral T-shirt he wore on the day of their final court hearing. The shirt, which read 'Be Your Own Sugar Daddy," sparked widespread chatter on social media, with many assuming it was a sly dig at his now ex-wife.
Appearing on Raj Shamani's podcast, Chahal finally addressed the controversy. 'Meko nahi karna tha drama, I just wanted to give one message and mai ne vo de diya," he said. The comment quickly went viral, leading fans to question what really led to the breakdown of his marriage with Dhanashree.
'Because something happened from the other side, and initially I didn't intend to do anything. But when that happened, I said, now you handle it… I don't care about anyone anymore. I didn't abuse anyone, I just wanted to send a message," Chahal added, suggesting it was a moment of closure more than confrontation.
However, Dhanashree seems to be unaffected by Chahal's comments. The dancer is keeping fans up to date with her time in Dubai. Dhanashree has not responded directly to Chahal's statements. However, her recent post, which doesn't address the divorce but speaks of inner growth and reconnection, has been perceived by fans as a graceful way of moving forward.

Did Deepika Padukone's Wedding Mehendi Cost Rs 1 Lakh? Find Out
Last Updated: Deepika Padukone fulfilled her promise to hire Veena Nagda for her wedding festivities, and here's how it happened. Deepika Padukone's Mehendi ceremony was a magical and intimate affair in Lake Como, Italy. While the actress looked absolutely radiant, it was the heartfelt moments that made her wedding to Ranveer Singh truly unforgettable. At the heart of it all was Veena Nagda, Bollywood's most sought-after Mehendi artist, who played a pivotal role in bringing Deepika's bridal vision to life. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Veena Bollywood Mehendi (@veenanagda) What made this moment even more special was the history between Deepika and Veena. Years before the wedding, the actress had made a promise to book Veena for her big day after being wowed by her intricate henna work during a film shoot. True to her word, Deepika fulfilled that vow. She personally invited Veena to be part of her wedding. In a chat with Filmibeat, Veena Nagda shared that her henna charges for customised designs are costly, usually around Rs 1 lakh. She also opened up about her experience at Deepika and Ranveer's wedding. She shared a touching backstory that highlighted the actress's sincerity and integrity. Veena recalled first meeting Deepika on the sets of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, where she had applied Mehendi on her for a scene. Deepika was so impressed with her intricate designs that she made a promise to hire Veena for her wedding someday. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Veena Bollywood Mehendi (@veenanagda) Years later, the actress stayed true to her word. When it came time for her real-life Mehendi, Deepika reached out to Veena and ensured she was flown to Italy for the occasion. Veena was commissioned for a full five days to design henna patterns for the bride and other family members. Recalling her time in Lake Como, Veena shared how challenging it initially seemed to create detailed Mehendi in the cold Italian weather. The chilly climate had made her wonder whether Deepika could endure the long hours needed for the intricate designs. Ranveer Singh's Warm Presence Veena fondly remembered how the mood and even the weather shifted the moment Ranveer walked in 'The sun came out, and he really lit up the room," she said. Veena added, 'He was joking and laughing with everyone, and he addressed me personally while I was doing Deepika's mehendi." Ranveer even took the time to compliment her directly while she was at work, saying, 'A queen is doing the Mehendi for another queen." Veena described this moment as unforgettable and symbolic of the respect and affection the couple shares with those around them. Ranveer Singh's Tribute To Deepika And His Family View this post on Instagram A post shared by दीपिका पादुकोण (@deepikapadukone) While Deepika was the focus of the ceremony, Ranveer also took part in the tradition in his heartfelt way. He requested Veena to design a special Mehendi for him as well. On his palm, he had the word 'Deep" inscribed, a loving nod to his bride-to-be. To make it even more meaningful, he asked for three stars to be added, each one representing a cherished woman in his life: Deepika, his mother and his sister. The couple tied the knot over two days on November 14 and 15, 2018, in a dual-ceremony setup that honoured both their cultural backgrounds. The Konkani-style wedding paid homage to Deepika's roots, while the Sindhi-style ceremony embraced Ranveer's heritage. Surrounded by close family and friends, their union was held at the breathtaking Villa Del Balbianello, a historic venue nestled on the shores of Lake Como. Ranveer And Deepika Welcome Their Baby Daughter In 2025, Ranveer and Deepika embraced parenthood with the birth of their baby girl, Dua. Their little one has added even more joy to their already blessed journey together, making them one of the most admired families in the film industry today. What's Next For The Power Couple? Instagram Copies More Snapchat Features: Now Lets You Repost Other's Reels
Last Updated: Instagram repost is the new way to share Reels from other people and the platform now also lets more privacy-focused additions. Instagram is taking its Snapchat love to a new level with feature additions to the platform that looks to keep its users entertained. The platform is also making changes to one of its existing features that courted controversy and concerns around user privacy. Reels have become a core part of Instagram's identity, even though the short video form was copied from TikTok. And now the company is doing it again, bringing new features that already exist on other competition platforms. Instagram Repost Update And More Instagram is letting you repost Reels from all users, even those you don't follow or know on the platform. This works similar to TikTok, where all the reposted short videos will be visible in a dedicated feed and even comes into the feed of people you follow. Reposting has worked differently on Instagram for years and these slight changes to the interface and its function gives it a new purpose. Instagram users could only share the Reel from the Stories earlier but now it can go as it is. In addition to this, Instagram is giving more controls to how the location-sharing feature works between friends on the app. The live map tells you the location of friends who have given access to track them and tell others about their whereabouts. Snapchat users know it as Snap Map and now Instagram is bringing it for its users. The good thing is that you will need to manually opt-in to use the feature and is disabled by default for the privacy of the users. Instagram has faced criticism for its policies and focus moving away from being a simple photo-sharing platform of yesteryears. The Meta-owned app has pivoted to different sides, and even considered going fully 9:16 with its default ratio but sense prevailed and the company had to revert back to its earlier phase. It is a platform that heavily caters to creators these days, who want to connect with their fans and followers. Adding a whole new set of features not only confuses them but also keeps the users on their toes, especially when they are thrown new tools which they never asked for in the first place. view comments First Published: August 07, 2025, 11:32 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
