vivo V60 receives another certification on its way to release

GSM Arena19 hours ago
vivo started teasing the upcoming V60 a few days ago, and today the phone has been spotted in the NBTC database in Thailand, having been certified for sale over there with the model number V2511.
Previously, the V60 was also certified by TDRA in the UAE, SIRIM in Malaysia, IMDA in Singapore, TKDN in Indonesia, and TUV in Germany. So it's looking like it will get a pretty global release.
Speaking of which, the phone is rumored to be unveiled on August 12 or August 19 in India. The V60 could be a rebranded S30, which launched in China in May.
vivo has already confirmed that the V60 has a 6,500 mAh battery and a quad-curved OLED screen, as well as the fact that it will be available in three hues: Auspicious Gold, Moonlit Blue, and Mist Gray.
A Geekbench run revealed that it's powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. It will run Android 15 with vivo's Funtouch OS 15 on top when it lands. The TUV certification has confirmed its support for 90W fast wired charging.

Apple has already sold more than 3 billion iPhones

Vlad, 01 August 2025 If you've been wondering what the total number of iPhones ever sold is, we now have the answer, straight from Apple itself: as of today, over 3 billion. This was revealed by Apple CEO Tim Cook during the company's earnings call a few hours ago. Apple reached one billion iPhones sold in 2016, and is believed to have gone up to two billion sometime in 2021, although that hasn't been officially confirmed so far. And now, four years after that, another billion units have been sold. Cook said iPhone sales were up by double digits in the second quarter of this year (April to June), and Apple earned $94 billion in revenue, which was up 10% over Q2 of last year. Interestingly, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who is always in the know with Apple-related stuff, has implied that the uptick in iPhone sales during this quarter might have been due to people panic-buying as a consequence of fear-mongering claims on the internet "predicting" that iPhones would end up costing $3,000 to $25,000 because of new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. Apple says the new tariffs cost it $800 million in Q2, and it expects the number to rise to $1.1 billion in Q3 (July to September). In September, the company is due to unveil the new iPhone 17 family, which is rumored to include the very thin iPhone 17 Air, a replacement for the Plus model that has so far been the worst-selling of the series. The announcement is expected to come on September 8, 9, or 10. Source

Samsung Galaxy A17 4G and A17 5G listed in Europe, here are the prices

Vlad, 01 August 2025 Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A17 has been spotted in some certifications recently, and then it was outed in leaked renders. Today, it's gone one step further, being listed by a European retailer. The listings don't give us any more images, but do reveal the pricing for both the 4G and 5G models, as well as (at least some of) their colorways. The Galaxy A17 4G costs €289.90 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and will be offered in black, gray, and light blue. There should be lower-end options too, with less RAM and storage, by the way. The Galaxy A17 5G is listed at €319.90 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and this one comes in black, blue, and gray. Clearly these are not exhaustive listings though (once again, keep in mind that there will most likely be other RAM/storage combos on offer as well), so we assume more colors could also be launched. According to past rumors and leaks, the Galaxy A17 5G will be powered by Samsung's Exynos 1380 SoC, and will have a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. It will run Android 15 when it launches, with One UI 7 on top. Its screen could be a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, while for cameras expect a 50 MP main with OIS, a 5 MP ultrawide, and a 2 MP macro. The Galaxy A17 4G will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. It too will run Android 15. Source (in Italian) | Via
