The coming season could be make or break for Arteta. Despite revolutionising the club from the depths, Arsenal have now finished runner-ups for three consecutive seasons, with the question looming whether the Spaniard can overcome the final hurdle.
Arteta once again mentioned the consistency the club has shown during his time and will once again gear up with the objective of winning in mind.
'You keep digging, digging, digging. You have to keep digging because one day, the gold is going to be there. That's all the time, what I've been taught, I've been educated, and that's it. For three seasons, we have more points than any other team in this league. It's incredible, that's why we have all the consistency. Now we have to do it in a season, to earn one more point or the same amount of points and more goals than any other team. That's the objective,' he added.

The early Premier League kick-off on Sunday provided very contrasting results as Chelsea were held to a frustrating goalless draw at home, while Nottingham Forest dazzled with a 3-1 win over Brentford. At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea dominated proceedings with 71% possession and a host of chances, but failed to break down a resolute Crystal Palace side. Debutant Estevao and fellow Brazilian Andrey Santos came closest for the Blues in the second half, while Palace thought they had taken the lead in the first period through Eberechi Eze's free-kick, only for VAR to rule it out. Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca handed debuts to several summer signings, including winger Jamie Gittens and centre-back Josh Acheampong, the latter starting in place of the injured Levi Colwill. Despite the attacking trio of Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, and Pedro Neto creating pressure throughout, Chelsea were unable to convert, leaving them to settle for a point in their season opener. Meanwhile, over at the City Ground, Nottingham Forest delivered a blistering first-half performance to brush aside Brentford. Marc Marquez won his first race at the Red Bull Ring in the Austrian MotoGP, his ninth win of the season. Starting fourth, he overtook Marco Bezzecchi and held off Fermin Aldeguer. Marc Marquez was thrilled to secure his first-ever victory at the Red Bull Ring, triumphing in the Austrian MotoGP on Sunday. This win marks his ninth of the season and further extends his lead in the championship standings. Starting fourth on the grid, the Ducati rider overtook pole-sitter Marco Bezzecchi on lap 20 and maintained his lead to achieve his sixth consecutive win. Rookie Fermin Aldeguer closed in during the final laps but settled for second, marking the best result of his career, while Bezzecchi finished third. 'Yes, super, super happy to finally take the first victory here in Austria, I'm wearing the red bike (Ducati) and it was working super good," said Marquez. But a new outsider arrived and it was Aldeguer this time and he was arriving super fast. But yes, I'm very happy for six victories in a row." Alex Marquez, despite starting second, was unlikely to win due to a long-lap penalty for an incident involving Honda's Joan Mir in the Czech MotoGP. He served the penalty on lap three, dropping from fourth to 11th and eventually finishing 10th. Reigning champion Jorge Martin's difficult season continued as he crashed out on turn 7 on lap 15, finishing last. The Spaniard, who has confirmed he will remain with Aprilia next season, missed the first three races due to pre-season crashes.
