Temple activist Yamuna Pathak honoured with Bharat Gaurav Sanatan Samman
Hyderabad: The Vishwa Hindu Raksha Parishad (VHRP) recently passed a six-point resolution at its international meeting held in Lucknow. During this conference, Yamuna Pathak, the national president of the women's wing of the VHRP from Hyderabad, was honoured with the Bharath Gaurav Sanatan Samman. The award was presented by Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister, Brajesh Pathak, and VHRP's international president, Gopal Rai.
Yamuna Pathak received this recognition for her significant contributions to preserving and reviving the cultural heritage of ancient temples in the Old City of Hyderabad, as well as her ongoing efforts to reclaim encroached properties belonging to these temples.
The UP Deputy Chief Minister remarked that Sanatana Dharma promotes inclusivity and harmony, emphasising that it is a faith that never discriminates against people and always aims for the welfare of all living beings. He noted that for centuries, Sanatana Dharma and Hinduism have upheld the concept of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' which conveys the message of the world as one family.
He stressed that the core ideals of Sanatana Dharma seek to overcome evil for the prevalence of good and to promote the harmonious coexistence of all beings.

Madras high court CHENNAI: Madras high court on Friday ordered notices to the Tamil Nadu DGP and the Chennai commissioner of police on a suo motu plea initiated against former DMK minister K Ponmudy for his obscene speech against Shaivism, Vaishnavism and women. On April 23, Justice N Anand Venkatesh decided to initiate the suo motu plea since the Tamil Nadu police failed to register an FIR against the former minister. After the approval of the chief justice, the petition was numbered and listed before Justice P Velmurugan, who handles the portfolio of cases against MPs and MLAs. When the plea came for hearing on Friday, Justice Velmurugan directed the registry to forward a copy of the order passed by Justice Anand Venkatesh to the DGP and the commissioner and adjourned the hearing to June 25. According to Justice Anand Venkatesh, the comments made by Ponmudy, on the face of it, were completely derogatory towards women and deliberately spewed venom and hatred on the two main sects of Hinduism. The judge directed the initiation of suo motu proceedings as the Tamil Nadu police failed to register an FIR against the minister, as suggested by high court. Of these, 750 pilgrims were selected through a computerised draw. The selected yatris will travel in five batches of 50 pilgrims each via the Lipulekh route, and 10 batches of 50 each via the Nathu La route. The pilgrimage will commence on 15 June and conclude on 25 August. Religious and diplomatic significance The Kailash Manasarovar Yatra holds profound religious importance for followers of Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. The journey takes pilgrims to sacred Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, considered spiritual focal points across the three faiths. The yatra was suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and remained on hold following the violent clashes between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. In its official statement, the MEA noted: 'The minister appreciated the Chinese side for its cooperation for the resumption of the yatra.' The revival of the pilgrimage also signals a positive step in efforts to restore diplomatic normalcy between India and China.

Pawan Kalyan has been invited to attend the spiritual gathering as a chief guest.
