Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University showcases leadership in smart learning and academic-security sector integration at World Police Summit
Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) participated in the prestigious World Police Summit, demonstrating its commitment to advancing smart learning and fostering collaboration between academia and the security sector. The event was held under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and organised by the General Command of Dubai Police at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
During the event, HBMSU showcased its cutting-edge research projects, innovative technological solutions, and pioneering contributions to the evolution of smart education by being a part of the summit's 'Academic Area'. The University also highlighted its ongoing strategic efforts to bolster cooperation between academic institutions and security agencies, paving the way for sustainable development of the law enforcement and police sciences.
Ali Langawi, Director of the Business Development Department at HBMSU, stated: 'Our participation in this global event underscores HBMSU's long-standing vision to drive innovation and nurture sustainable partnerships. More than 900 individuals competed in the World Police Summit Awards, with 12 winners honoured on the final day. 'This year's turnout and impact have far exceeded expectations,' said Lt. Col. Dr. Rashid Hamdan Al Ghafri, Secretary-General of the Summit. 'The summit has become a vital platform for international police cooperation and innovation.' The UAE Government has launched an executive training programme for Chief AI Officers, marking a major step in strengthening the country's leadership in artificial intelligence and future technologies. Led by the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, the initiative is run in partnership with the University of Birmingham in Dubai. The programme aims to equip AI leaders across federal entities with advanced knowledge and skills to drive smart transformation across sectors. Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence Omar Sultan Al Olama said the programme reflects the UAE's commitment to investing in talent and building a tech-driven future. 'Empowering leaders with the right tools and knowledge fuels national ambitions and enables innovation,' he said. The two-week training blends academic theory with hands-on learning. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Arab Media Summit (AMS) 2025 kicks off tomorrow in Dubai, gathering nearly 8,000 media professionals from across the Arab world. Running until 28 May, the region's largest media event will host ministers, editors-in-chief, content creators, influencers, and experts to discuss the future of media in a rapidly evolving landscape. Organised by the Dubai Media Council, AMS 2025 features over 300 speakers, 175 sessions, and 35 workshops, providing a platform for dialogue on technology integration, including artificial intelligence and immersive media. Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council, highlighted the Summit's focus on ambitious, youth-driven strategies to advance Arab media's regional and global role. Key figures attending include the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, and Lebanon's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
