How good is Erin Hills?
Erin Hills in Erin, Wisconsin – site of the 2025 U.S. Women's Open – opened in 2006 with a design by Michael Hurdzan, Dana Fry and Ron Whitten.
Erin Hills was also the site of the 2017 U.S. Open won by Brooks Koepka and the 2011 U.S. Amateur won by Kelly Kraft, among other top-tier events. The USGA will return to Erin Hills, about an hour's drive west of Milwaukee, multiple times in the coming years.
Erin Hills ties for No. 60 on Golfweek's Best ranking of all modern courses in the United States. It also ranks No. 6 among all public-access courses in a staggeringly strong Wisconsin. Erin Hills is listed at 6,835 yards for the Women's Open, but that will change daily depending on course setup. Par is 72.

Drivers have one last chance to make the playoffs with Saturday's regular season finale at Daytona International Speedway. Two spots remain in the 16-driver playoff field. Tyler Reddick and Alex Bowman hold those spots, but a new winner could knock one of them out of title contention. NBC and Peacock will have the coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET Saturday. With help from Racing Insights, here is a look at the good news and bad news for Cup drivers and teams heading into Daytona. Dustin Long, 23XI Racing — Good news: Bubba Wallace has three runner-up finishes at Daytona. … Tyler Reddick remains in a playoff spot, holding a 29-point advantage on Alex Bowman. … Reddick was the runner-up in this year's Daytona 500. … Both of rookie Riley Herbst's top-10 finishes in Cup have come at drafting tracks. Bad news: If there is a new winner and Bowman outscores Reddick by 29 points at Daytona, Reddick would fail to make the playoffs a year after reaching the title race. … Reddick placed a season-worst 34th last weekend at Richmond. … Reddick has an average finish of 23.0 at Daytona, his worst among active tracks. … Wallace's 28th-place finish at Richmond last weekend snapped a streak of four consecutive top-10 finishes. Coco Gauff shockingly fires coaches right before 2025 US Open
American tennis star Coco Gauff has parted ways with her coaches Matt Daly and J.C. Faurel and brought on biomechanics expert Gavin MacMillan, according to multiple reports. Gauff, 21, who has struggled with her serve since her first-round defeat at Wimbledon last month, made the coaching shift days before the start of the first round at the U.S. Open. MacMillan previously worked with current world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka to fix her serve and founded the Sport Science Lab — a company that specializes in sports performance, physical rehabilitation and general fitness. PGA tour spectator was 'violently' hit by golf cart at Oak Hill, lawsuit says
A spectator at the 2023 PGA Championship says she was seriously injured after she was hit by a rogue golf cart driver and "violently thrown" onto the turf of the Oak Hill County Club in Rochester during the tournament. The East Aurora woman, Lauren Lilley, is suing the country club, the golf tour and the media broadcast company, CBS Sports, for unspecified damages related to her alleged injuries. Lilley was standing along a rope fence designated for spectators when she was struck from behind by a golf cart operated by a member of the media crew for the tournament, her attorneys said in a court filing. Lilley was launched over the rope by the impact and says she suffered a concussion with loss of consciousness, a herniated disc and other injuries to her neck, shoulder and arm. Following the crash, Lilley required surgery and ongoing medical care for pain and permanent injuries that have and will prevent her "from pursuing her usual and ordinary activities, as well as her social and recreational pursuits," according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit accuses CBS Sports and CBS Broadcasting, along with a subcontractor, Robovision Inc., of negligence related to the use of the golf cart. The remaining defendants, including Oak Hill, PGA and PGA Tour, are accused of creating an unsafe environment while hosting a tournament that drew hundreds of thousands of spectators.
