Khushi Kapoor Opens Up On Handling Harsh Reviews: ‘If Something's Not Helping…'
Last Updated:
Khushi Kapoor was last seen in Nadaaniyan with Ibrahim Ali Khan, which received largely negative reviews from both critics and viewers.
Khushi Kapoor recently opened up about how she deals with the negative reviews for her performances in films. She said that while she takes meaningful, constructive criticism seriously, she tunes out unhelpful negativity. She said that it is important to understand the intent behind the feedback and reviews, and she feels there is no point listening to things that aren't helping her. She was last seen in the Netflix film 'Nadaaniyan', co-starring Ibrahim Ali Khan. The film received largely negative reviews from both critics and viewers, and quickly became the subject of online memes and heated discussions.
In an interview with ETimes, when asked about how she handles negative and harsh feedback, Khushi Kapoor said, 'You can tell when you, read something or you speak to someone what they mean by what they say. I think it's important to take constructive criticism. And if something's not really helping you, I don't think there's any point listening to it."
Meanwhile, there are rumours that Khushi will be a part of a sequel to Sridevi's last film, Mom. However, Khushi remained tight-lipped about this. She said, 'I like stories. I like being a part of important and good stories. I don't think right now I'm trying to look for something actively, but I think if I read a good script and I connect to it, then I would love to be a part of it."
Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's daughter Khushi Kapoor made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's teen musical 'The Archies', which also starred Suhana Khan and Agastya Nanda. She was then seen in 'Loveyapa' with Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan. Shauna Gautam's directorial debut Nadaaniyan marked her third film.
Meanwhile, during the silver jubilee celebrations of IIFA 2025, Boney Kapoor announced plans for a sequel to Sridevi's last film, Mom, starring his daughter Khushi Kapoor. While speaking to the media on the green carpet, Boney expressed his love for his daughters, Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor, and mentioned their efforts to follow in their mother Sridevi's footsteps and achieve excellence in different film industries.
Boney said, 'I have watched all of Khushi's films. 'Archies', 'Loveyappa' and 'Nadaaniyaan'. I am planning a film with her too after 'No Entry'. It would be a movie with Khushi. It could be 'Mom 2'. She is trying to follow in the footsteps of her mother. Her mother was the top star in all the languages she worked in. I hope Khushi and Janhvi succeeded in this same level of perfection."
