Saudi project clears 1,171 mines in Yemen
The total included 1,124 unexploded ordnances, 46 anti-tank mines and one anti-personnel mines, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Ousama Al-Gosaibi, the initiative's managing director, said that 505,466 mines have been cleared since the project began in 2018.
The explosives were planted indiscriminately and posed a threat to civilians, including children, women and the elderly.
The demining operations took place in Marib, Aden, Jouf, Shabwa, Taiz, Hodeidah, Lahij, Sanaa, Al-Bayda, Al-Dhale and Saada.
The project trains local demining engineers and provides them with modern equipment. It also offers support to Yemenis injured by the devices.
Teams are tasked with clearing villages, roads and schools to facilitate the safe movement of civilians and delivery of humanitarian aid.

Crafting Al-Maqmaa begins with selecting high-quality wood for the body and forging an iron barrel, Saudi Press Agency reported. Key components include the safha, a compartment for storing gunpowder, and the darrab, used to compact it. The final stage is decoration, with artisans adorning the piece in brass, silver, and intricate engravings. Fahd Al-Shehri continues a legacy inherited from his father, who opened one of the first Al-Maqmaa repair shops in Al-Namas. His father modernized the craft using advanced tools while preserving its authenticity. Today, Fahd adapts the weapon for a younger generation, producing lighter, more compact versions. In Asir, no celebration is complete without Al-Maqmaa and the zahab, a cross-body leather belt studded with metal and used to carry gunpowder cartridges for ceremonial firing. The production of traditional black powder is part of this heritage. It involves mixing salt from specific soils, natural sulfur, and charcoal made from slow-burning branches. The compound once was used not only in weapons but also in blasting rocks and excavating wells. Researcher Saleh Abu Arad noted in his work that Al-Maqmaa remains a powerful symbol of Asir's identity, passed down through generations as a proud expression of the region's culture.

Saudi Arabia Expands Gaza Relief Effort with 7 New Aid Trucks
Saudi Arabia has sent new aid trucks to the Gaza Strip, as part of the Kingdom's ongoing relief campaign to support the Palestinian people in Gaza. On Wednesday, seven new Saudi aid trucks crossed the Rafah border crossing en route to Gaza, carrying food supplies provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). In an expanded relief effort, KSrelief has operated humanitarian air and sea bridges to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza. So far, 58 aircraft and 8 ships, carrying a total of 7,188 tons of food, medical and shelter supplies, have been dispatched. Moreover, 20 ambulances have been handed over to the Palestine Red Crescent Society. Additionally, KSrelief signed several agreements with international organizations to fund relief projects for the Palestinian people in Gaza worth over $90 million. Saudi Arabia has also launched an airdrop initiative, through KSrelief and in collaboration with Jordan, to deliver food aid to impacted civilians in Gaza, in an effort to overcome restrictions caused by the closure of border crossings. The ongoing war in Gaza has caused a dire humanitarian catastrophe and a severe starvation crisis, making relief efforts a vital lifeline for families, as they face worsening life conditions due to the prolonged conflict and restricted access to essential supplies. According to Gaza's Health Ministry, the war's death toll has exceeded 60,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children.
