Bitget Wallet Launches "Fomo Thursdays" to Democratize Early Token Access

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, June 18, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bitget Wallet, the leading non-custodial crypto wallet, is rolling out a new weekly program called Fomo Thursdays, offering users recurring access to early-stage token projects through a low-cost, gamified staking mechanism. It reflects the company's broader push to simplify token participation by embedding launch activities directly within the wallet interface.
Each Thursday, users can stake $10 worth of tokens to receive a randomized allocation of project tokens. The format removes high entry thresholds, trading requirements, and point-based systems common in traditional launch models. Rewards are distributed on-chain, and users can reclaim their full stake after each round. Unlike models that rely on sustained trading or large holdings, Fomo Thursdays offers a fixed-entry experience with transparent allocation logic and no principal risk.
'Fomo Thursdays is a shift in how product launches can engage users directly,' said Jamie Elkaleh, CMO of Bitget Wallet. 'By lowering barriers and introducing a weekly rhythm, we're turning passive announcements into active, repeatable participation.'
The first event features Bombie, a LINE-based mini-game developed by the team behind Catizen. As the first LINE Mini DApp to conduct a token launch, Bombie will allocate over 40 million BOMB tokens through Bitget Wallet's exclusive TGE (token generation event) claim interface. Participants will have a chance to receive rewards, with the top prize set at $888 equivalent in BOMB tokens. With over 12 million users across LINE and Telegram, Bombie reflects a growing trend toward integrating casual messaging-based apps with tokenized infrastructure.
The first staking window opens June 18 at 8:00 UTC and closes June 19 at 8:00 UTC, with token claims available starting June 19 at 10:00 UTC. Winners will receive BOMB tokens directly in-wallet, while all users may reclaim their staked USDT.

Another crypto exchange files for IPO

Another crypto exchange files for IPO originally appeared on TheStreet. Gemini Trust, the crypto exchange founded by billionaire twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, has filed for a U.S. initial public offering, positioning itself to become the third publicly traded digital-asset exchange after Coinbase and Bullish. The filing, published late Aug. 15, revealed that Gemini's revenue fell in the first half of 2025 while its net losses widened, underscoring both the challenges and opportunities of going public in a still-volatile industry. According to the filing, Gemini reported a net loss of $282.5 million on revenue of $68.6 million for the six months ending June 30. That compared to a $41.4 million loss on $74.3 million in revenue a year earlier. The exchange, which supports more than 70 cryptocurrencies and operates across 60 countries, plans to list its shares on Nasdaq under the ticker GEMI, with Goldman Sachs and Citigroup leading the offering. Proceeds will go toward general corporate purposes and repaying third-party debt. The move comes just days after Bullish, another crypto exchange, staged a blockbuster IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. Shares of Bullish (BLSH) more than tripled in their debut, echoing the summer's earlier frenzy around Circle Internet Group, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin. Circle's June listing saw its stock spike nearly tenfold in the first days of trading, before pulling back. Both listings have stoked investor enthusiasm for crypto equities, though analysts caution against chasing the IPO 'pop.' Colorful career For the Winklevoss twins, Gemini's IPO is the latest chapter in a colorful career. The brothers first gained public notoriety after suing Facebook and its founder Mark Zuckerberg, claiming he stole their idea for a social networking site. They settled in 2008 for $65 million in cash and stock, later using part of those proceeds to seed Gemini, which launched in 2014. Gemini also issues the Gemini Dollar (GUSD), a dollar-pegged stablecoin, and its focus on regulated custody and compliance has been a core selling point in an industry often criticized for opacity. The filing comes on the heels of the GENIUS Act, a new U.S. law establishing a federal framework for stablecoins — a development expected to boost confidence in regulated players like Gemini. Crypto's IPO pipeline has been growing under the Trump administration, which has rolled back some regulatory hurdles and courted the industry with pro-innovation rhetoric. Institutional adoption has also gained momentum, with large banks expanding custody and ETF offerings. In a symbolic milestone, Coinbase earlier this year became the first blockchain-focused firm to join the S&P 500. Top Crypto Traders Flip Bearish on BTC, ETH in Major Sentiment Shift

In a sharp reversal from last week's euphoric record highs and $300,000 bitcoin price targets, some of crypto's most followed traders are now warning of looming downside risks for both bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH). Bitcoin is currently trading at $115,000, down nearly 3% overnight, but relatively comfortable within its recent $112,000 to $124,000 range. ETH, meanwhile, is down by 5% over the past 24 hours at $4,317, though still 21% from a month earlier. Among the possible reasons for Monday's decline are jitters around the Federal Reserve's potential rate cut in September, which would benefit risk assets liks crypto. While rate markets continue to point to a high likelihood of a Fed cut next month, the odds per CME FedWatch have slipped to 83% from nearly 100% at one point last week. Andrew Kang, co-founder of Mechanism Capital, was one of the loudest voices predicting crypto downside on Monday, suggesting ETH could be staring at billions in liquidations as leveraged positions unwind. 'Would estimate we're about to hit $5 billion in ETH liquidations across exchanges,' Kang posted on X. He forecast a possible slide in ether's price to between $3,200 and $3,600, warning the market was 'not ready to find out what happens when that buying dissipates.' His comments follow the launch of ETH DATs (Deposit Access Tokens), which drove short-term demand but may now face a vacuum of momentum. The bearish tone comes against the backdrop of a record-breaking validator exit queue, with 885,000 ETH ($3.8 billion) awaiting withdrawal from Ethereum's staking mechanism, as CoinDesk reported last week. Much of the movement reflects profit-taking, the unwinding of risky leveraged staking strategies, and preparations for the launch of potential ETH staking ETFs. Large liquid staking players like Lido have seen hundreds of thousands of ETH withdrawn, adding to market jitters about potential forced liquidations. Pseudonymous trader Flood also became increasingly vocal about the downside risk on Monday, telling followers: 'Back to $2k you go Ethereum, where you belong.' The comments reflect a stark shift in sentiment, demonstrating the fragile psychology that drives crypto markets where bullish and bearish narratives can quickly unravel. For astute traders, however, the shift in sentiment can be seen as opportunity; as Wall Street veteran Warren Buffett once said: 'Buy when there's blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own.' Why Ethereum Is Sinking Today

Key Points Investors are taking profits on cryptocurrencies after a strong rally last week. Ethereum and other tokens have seen strong gains this year thanks to political and macroeconomic catalysts, and today's sell-off is modest in the grand scheme of things. Inflation news could be the most important near-term catalyst for Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies. 10 stocks we like better than Ethereum › Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) is heading lower in Monday's trading. The cryptocurrency's token price had fallen 2.2% over the past 24 hours of trading as of 3 p.m. ET. Bitcoin's token price had fallen 0.8% over the same stretch. The cryptocurrency market hit its highest-ever valuation level last week, and Ethereum reached its highest token price in four years. Investors are selling to take profits following the recent rally and looking at some potential risk factors that could disrupt bullish momentum. Ethereum pulls back from recent highs Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies surged last week after President Trump signed an executive order that allows for crypto tokens and other nontraditional assets to be included in 401(k) accounts. The development suggested a significant new buying catalyst for the crypto market, but some investors are now repositioning on the heels of the rally. Expectations that the Federal Reserve will serve up multiple interest rate cuts this year have helped fuel strong bullish momentum for cryptocurrency valuations, but the Producer Price Index (PPI) report published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) last week arrived with higher-than-anticipated inflation. The Fed is still expected to issue a rate cut at its meeting next month, but July's PPI data is causing some jitters in the market. What's next for Ethereum? The Trump administration's support for the crypto industry will likely continue to be a positive catalyst for Ethereum and other crypto tokens. Along with the Genius Act stablecoin legislation that was passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump last month, the House of Representatives also passed the Clarity Act -- which establishes regulatory frameworks for the broader crypto market. The Clarity Act is now awaiting discussion and a vote in the Senate, and it seems to have a solid chance of passing. While political dynamics appear to be favorable for Ethereum right now, there are still some big questions on the table. Developments on inflation and interest rates will continue to play key roles in shaping the token's valuation moves, and investors will be watching closely to see if the higher-than-expected PPI inflation shows up in other areas of the economy.
