The Motorola Razr Plus (2025) just leaked, and it's far from exciting
Motorola is launching a new flagship flip phone soon. It is slated to get an overdue processor upgrade, though the other specifications could fail to ignite the same excitement. A new leak reveals design changes — or their lack — that the Motorola Razr Plus (2025) comes with.
Based on the images by Android Headlines, the design of the Motorola Razr Plus (2025) has barely changed over the last generation. It retains the same physique as last year, without changes to the sizes of the dual displays — inside and outside the flip phone.
The bottom half of the back is still wrapped in faux leather, but with subtle differences from the previous generation. This year, we could see a stitch pattern beyond the curved part of the edges. The leak also reveals a new color option, noticeably darker than the green we saw last year.
All color variants in 2024 came with a vegan leather back. While we're unsure of the route Motorola will take this year, it wouldn't be surprising at all if it sticks with the same strategy. With only the green color leaked at the moment, we can't quite comment on which others we would get to see at the time of launch.
One curious addition to the Motorola Razr Plus over the last year is the button on the left side of the phone. Motorola phones have traditionally had this extra button to invoke Google Assistant, and it was later reimagined as a 'Quick Button' as also seen on the Motorola Edge 2024. A single action, such as opening a new note, launching a specific app, initiating a new conversation, etc., can be assigned to this Quick button. It's not as intuitive as the iPhone's Action Button — which other phone brands such as OnePlus and Oppo could soon replicate, but it is a nifty addition for sure.
Apart from the button and the darker green color, the Motorola Razr Plus is slated to feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite. This year, Motorola should not skimp on performance, as it is rumored to feature the 8-core version of the chipset, instead of the less powerful 7-core variant, which is expected to power other foldable this year, such as the Oppo Find N5 and the OnePlus Open 2.
The Motorola Razr Plus (2025) is expected to launch sooner than the last year, when the Razr Plus (2024) launched in June. We will ensure to update you once we come across more details.

All four iPhone 17 models just tipped for ‘metalens' upgrade
The Pro Max version of Apple's beloved iPhone tends to be first in line for significant redesigns and upgrades, but Apple's rumored metalens technology, which promises to significantly shrink the size of the Dynamic Island, could come to all four iPhone 17 models. That's according to GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu, who made the prediction in a research note first spotted by 9to5Mac this week. Previously, Pu said only the iPhone 17 Pro Max would get this design change, but now he's changed his tune and claims all four iPhones will incorporate metalens technology. For the uninitiated, metalens are flat lenses that use metasurfaces to focus light toward the image sensor. It's a serious upgrade from the kind of curved lenses used in most phones. Rumor has it Apple will use a metalens for Face ID that integrates the transmitter and receiver components to reduce the overall size and thickness. That lines Apple up to shrink the Dynamic Island by extension, an upgrade iPhone owners have been calling for since the introduction of Apple's selfie camera spot. Though its dimensions on the iPhone 17 and what kind of size difference we can expect remain up in the air. The Dynamic Island, which houses Face ID sensors and the front camera in addition to showcasing Live Activities, was initially introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro and has remained roughly the same size since. Eventually, Apple's rumored to bring Face ID beneath the display entirely, but that's not expected until at least the iPhone 18. Keep in mind that this all remains the subject of speculation for now. Another Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed back in January that the Dynamic Island's size will remain "largely unchanged" with Apple's upcoming iPhone line. Both leakers have proven track records of sharing accurate details about Apple's product line-up, so we'll have to wait and see which predictions pan out. We won't know for sure until Apple's official launch event, which is expected to go down in September if history serves. In the meantime, be sure to check out all the latest news and rumors in our iPhone 17 hub. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.

WhatsApp Issues Urgent iPhone Countdown: Chats Stop In 24 Hours On These Phones
WhatsApp is ending support for a series of Apple and Android devices, beginning on Sunday, June 1. It had been thought the change would come early in June, but the respite is over. Here's the list of iPhones affected and what it means. Apple iPhones with older software are about to lose access to WhatsApp. If you have an iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, then first of all congratulations for holding out against the pressure to upgrade. But, secondly, commiserations, because your phone won't work with WhatsApp any more. That's because you need to have an iPhone that runs iOS 15.1 and later, and those phones can't handle software newer than iOS 14. If you want to continue to use WhatsApp, you'll need a newer iPhone (or iPad, now it's finally arrived on Apple's tablets). Android users are fine, providing your phone can run Android OS 5.0 and newer. The new software requirements have been announced by WhatsApp and the explanation is that 'Devices and software change often, so we regularly review what operating systems we support and make updates. Every year we look at which devices and software are the oldest and have the fewest users. These devices also might not have the latest security updates, or might lack the functionality required to run WhatsApp,' it says. To be fair to WhatsApp, support is only vanishing for iPhones that first went on sale more than 10 years ago, and which weren't sold by Apple for the last six years. And note the phrase 'Every year,' which tells us that if you have any iPhone newer than that, you're safe until next year at least. As noted by 9to5Mac, it had been reported that other iPhones would also be struck off, namely iPhone 16s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE 1st generation. However, this doesn't seem to be the case, providing, of course, you have updated the phone's software to later than iOS 15.1. This shouldn't be a problem as those phones are compatible with every version of iOS 15, including the recent iOS 15.8.1, a security update released a few weeks ago on March 31, 2025.
