Josh Gad 'heartbroken' to pull out of Jesus Christ Superstar

Josh Gad has pulled out of appearing in Jesus Christ Superstar after contracting COVID-19.
The 44-year-old actor has been left "heartbroken" at having to miss the chance to play King Herod in the musical extravaganza, which will run at the Hollywood Bowl from 1-3 August but promised fans the production - which stars Cynthia Erivo as Jesus and Adam Lambert as Judas - will be one of the "greatest things" they will ever get to see.
He shared a statement on Instagram which read: 'It is with enormous heartbreak that I inform you all that unfortunately, I have contracted a virus known as COVID (remember that one little b****** from season one of 'earth really sucks right now?'?
"Anyway, out of an abundance of caution and respect for my cast, I will not be performing in Jesus Christ Superstar this weekend (unless I test negative).
'It truly breaks my heart, but I can assure you all that this is going to be one of the greatest things you will ever see.
'I hope at some point you get to see me wear the crown and show you what we've been up to, because it was quite something, but for now, sadly, I will not be able to grace the Hollywood Bowl.(sic)"
The Hollywood Bowl reshared Josh's statement and wished the Frozen actor a "speedy recovery", and confirmed they 'will announce a new performer for the role of King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar soon.'
Josh recently spoke of how he decided to become an actor after seeing the impact his comedic talents had on his mom when he tried to brighten her mood amid his parents divorce.
He told the Bullseye podcast: "I felt like during this period, my job was, 'I'm going to make you laugh.' When I can break through that wall of pain, it's a superpower.
"And I felt like I was seeing, in real-time, that I was bringing her out of this dark spiral she was in, even for just brief moments at a time.
"I realised one day that if I could do this for my mom, is there a path for me to do this at large? Can I actually give this gift to other people, the gift of laughter and joy? The gift of escapism?
"And slowly but surely, that became my path, and part of that was my mom again, giving me a set of tools with which to refine my craft."

Machine Gun Kelly eats just 'a couple of times a week'

Machine Gun Kelly only eats "a couple of times a week". The 35-year-old musician has revealed that he rarely eats meals and instead "does water a bunch" as he broke down his diet. In a clip shared on the Instagram account HipHop-N-More, MGK said: "I don't really eat. I just do water a bunch." The star ate a burger as he appeared on the stream but explained that doing so was very much out of the norm for him. MGK said: "Like, I ate that burger 'cause we're streaming, and it's my man s***, you know?" The musician - who has moved away from hip-hop to adopt a pop-punk sound - admitted that he likely wouldn't have eaten at all had he not been on the stream. When asked what he would've had for dinner, MGK said: "Probably water." The Home hitmaker then revealed his concerning diet. Asked if ever feels weak, MGK - whose real name is Colson Baker - said: "Yeah, sometimes. I'll eat, like, a couple of times a week." MGK revealed that the meals that he does eat are made up of "bone broth with kimchi and sauerkraut". The singer - who has daughters Cassie, 16, and Saga Blade, four months, from his relationships with Emma Cannon and Megan Fox respectively - explained: "Cause it has probiotics, you know? So, like, when you do those water fasts, the only thing that's crazy is it kills all the good bacteria in you, too, so you gotta put the probiotics." MGK explained that he drinks both celery juice and coconut water from time to time. He said: "I'll drink celery juice sometimes, yeah. Coconut water." The musician became a father for the second time earlier this year when the Jennifer's Body actress gave birth to their daughter and he explained that his parenting "speciality" is bringing "music and laughs". MGK told People magazine: "[I recently] wrote her a lullaby on a ukulele. "Megan is in the no sleep club, for sure. I've been travelling a little bit, just doing some performances. So on those nights, I for sure, just hit the snooze button a million times and I'm catching up on all this. "Women are in the rougher trenches of the newborn process, but my specialty is music and laughs and whatever I can do to make her smile and kind of get introduced to the world with love."

Kelly Clarkson axes Las Vegas residency dates as ex-husband Brandon Blackstock is 'ill'

Kelly Clarkson has cancelled her Las Vegas residency dates as her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock is "ill". The 43-year-old singer has scrapped her remaining August performances in Sin City in order to support her daughter Ruby Rose, 11, and son Remy, nine, amid her former spouse's illness. Kelly wrote on social media platform X: "Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. "While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them." The Since U Been Gone hitmaker's post added: "I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding." Kelly's post came just an hour after fans had spotted that their digital tickets for the gigs this weekend had been changed to dates in July 2026. The star cancelled the opening night of her Vegas residency last month as she was suffering from illness and apologised to her fans when she returned to the stage the following weekend. Clarkson told the crowd: "It took me a minute. I'm so sorry. "I know some of y'all had tickets for last weekend's shows. I'm so sorry. We can't help our bodies sometimes. You know, we get sick, and that happens. "But thank y'all for showing up. We are so excited. This is my favourite residency — my favourite show I've ever put together, because I love being in the studio." The My Life Would Suck Without You singer explained that she was reduced to tears by the cancellation. She shared: "I'm celebrating because I had to cancel last weekend. I cried. I was so sick. It sucked. I'm so happy to be here!" Kelly had announced the postponement of the residency's opening night - which was due to take place on July 4 - on social media due to concerns over her voice. The American Idol winner wrote on Instagram at the time: "We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans. I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow's opening at Caesars. "The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y'all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve. "The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong. "I can't wait to be back next weekend and show y'all what we've been working on."

Instagram Reposts launches in new app upgrade

Almost 15 years after launching, social media giant Instagram has taken pages out of TikTok and Snapchat's books — adding three new features to their app. The changes were announced by parent company Meta on Wednesday, with roll-outs for the new features within Australia happening on Thursday. The new features have Aussies talking, with Instagram trending as a top Google search in the country throughout Wednesday and Thursday — so what are the new features, and how do they work? Instagram Reposts The new Repost feature allows users to share content in their feed - with a tab on their profile letting them see everything they've reposted. Credit: Meta The biggest change that Australians have seen to their Instagram feeds allows users to share public reels and feed posts with their followers – with the app following TikTok's lead and branding the function 'reposts.' The Meta team behind the update explained friends and followers can see any repost made, with any shared content crediting the original creator. 'Reposts will be recommended to your friends and followers in their feeds, and they'll also be in a separate tab on your profile, so you can always go back to revisit your reposts,' the Meta team explained. Users also have the option of adding personal notes to reposts by typing a message in the thought bubble that appears. New 'Friends' tab in Reels Users can choose to watch only Reels friends have made or interacted with. A new 'Friends' tab has appeared on Instagram's Reels page, allowing users to view videos that friends have like, reposted, commented on, and created. 'Friends will help you see which reels the people you care about most are creating and engaging with,' Meta said in relation to the new tab. Officials at the app have also confirmed they are working to upgrade features of the Friends tab over the next couple of weeks, allowing users the ability to hide content they've liked and commented from appearing in this section. Instagram Maps The new Maps feature lets users see what friends are nearby and view content within their area. Credit: Meta A new-US exclusive feature on the app has caused waves online — allowing users to share their location with others in real time, letting them to see content posted nearby from friends and other creators. Similar to the map feature on Snapchat, users are given the option to opt out of location-sharing but will still be able to view the map and people who have chosen to share. The maps feature also includes a parental supervision update, allowing parents to receive notifications if their teen has shared their location and allowing them to control the feature's availability. While this feature has not hit Australian's accounts yet, the Meta team behind the update promises Maps will have 'global availability very soon.'
