The actor's meeting with the Dalai Lama comes at a time when he has been enjoying a quick getaway to explore the scenic landscapes of Himachal Pradesh and beyond. Earlier this month, Sunny shared pictures of himself from Baralacha La Pass, flaunting his new look after wrapping the shoot for Border 2.

"Life's a winding road through mountain peaks -- fresh look, new direction," he wrote in the caption.
Deol will be next seen in the much-awaited Border 2. Backed by producers Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, Krishnan Kumar, and Nidhi Dutta, the film will release on January 23, 2025.
The sequel looks forward to bringing back the iconic legacy of the original film that came out in 1997. Besides Sunny, the film also features actors like Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in key roles.
The actor also has Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana in the pipeline. The first glimpse of the film was recently unveiled, officially introducing Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman.

After Mohit Suri's emotionally charged musical drama Saiyaara became a runaway hit, there's concern that Anurag Basu's next, a musical romance starring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela, follows a similar storyline. The upcoming film has long been touted as the third installment in the Aashiqui franchise. The comparisons were perhaps inevitable: like Saiyaara and its spiritual predecessor Aashiqui 2 (also directed by Suri), Basu's film features a male lead who's a rockstar, and the narrative focuses on his personal and emotional journey. But Anurag Basu isn't having any of the 'copycat' talk. In an interview with Mid-day, the Barfi! and Metro… In Dino director dismissed all claims that his film is being rewritten to avoid overlaps with Saiyaara, calling the similarities "superficial at best." 'Mohit and I are very close. I'm happy for his film's success. The only similarity in our films is that the male lead is a rockstar, and the story is about his journey,' Basu said. He went on to clarify that he had been aware of Saiyaara 's storyline all along, having heard it directly from Suri himself. 'In my film, the girl doesn't have dementia or any [other condition]. We are not rewriting or re-shooting,' he added. 'I knew beforehand that the girl had Alzheimer's disease in Saiyaara. So, why would I write the same [plot point] in mine?' Interestingly, the story of Saiyaara was originally pitched by Mohit Suri to be developed as Aashiqui 3. However, when that plan fell through, Suri moved ahead with the script independently, casting newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in a deeply emotional love story that struck a chord with audiences. Meanwhile, the producers behind Aashiqui 2 — Bhushan Kumar (T-Series) and Mukesh Bhatt (Vishesh Films) — joined forces to revive the franchise with a new director and lead actor. That's where Basu and Kartik Aaryan entered the picture. But the film hit a legal snag. After Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt parted ways, a dispute erupted over the usage rights of the Aashiqui brand.

Maanyata wishes husband Sanjay Dutt on his birthday
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt celebrated his 66th birthday on July 29. Maanyata, the Agneepath star's wife, described him as an "amazing person" and a "protective father". Karisma Kapoor not involved in late ex-husband Sunjay Kapur's inheritance, say sources
Days after swirling reports suggested that Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor was seeking a share in the estate of her late ex-husband Sunjay Kapur, sources close to the actress have shut down the speculation. Karisma, who was married to the late industrialist from 2003 to 2016, has 'no involvement or stake' in the property or inheritance matters following his untimely demise, clarified insiders close to the actress. 'She is not involved in any inheritance or property-related matters in any way. The children are the rightful heirs and will receive what is due to them. Karisma's focus right now is only the well-being of her children,' the source said, as quoted by ETimes. The clarification comes amid heightened media scrutiny and social media chatter about the distribution of Sunjay Kapur's assets after his sudden death on June 12, 2025, during a polo match in London. While Karisma has been entirely uninvolved, tensions appear to be rising within the Kapur household. In a fresh development, Priya Sachdev Kapur — Sunjay's second wife — was officially appointed as a non-executive director at Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar) following a shareholder vote at the annual general meeting held on July 25.
