Ahly sign Arab Contractors goalkeeper Mohamed Seha - Egyptian Football
Ahly announced on Monday signing Arab Contractors goalkeeper Mohamed Seha on a five-year contract starting from next season. The 24-year-old Seha would be a replacement for Ahly's goalkeeper Hamza Alaa after departing the club this summer. 'It is a different feeling as Ahly is the biggest club in Africa and I hope to prove myself here,' Seha said in a video posted on Ahly's official website. 'I felt a warm reception here from everyone. I received many offers but I didn't hesitate to accept Ahly offer. It was my dream since I was a child to be Ahly player,' he added. Seha became Ahly's third summer signing as the club had already signed winger Mahmoud Trezeguet from Qatar's Al-Rayyan and defensive midfielder Hamdy Fathy from Qatar's Al-Wakrah. Seha, who was a member of Egypt's U-23 squad at the Paris Olympics last year, spent last season playing on loan for the league Haras El-Hodoud, making 14 league appearances. Preview: Zamalek aim high note in league finale against Pharco FC after poor season - Egyptian Football
Cairo giants Zamalek will be aiming to salvage pride from a disappointing Egyptian Premier League campaign when they face Pharco FC in the final matchday of the playoff stage at Cairo International Stadium on Saturday. The White Knights enter the match with renewed confidence after securing their first win under interim coach Ayman El-Ramady, defeating Petrojet 3-1 last Saturday. El-Ramady, 60, was appointed interim manager on 7 May becoming the fourth manager to take over the team this season after Jose Gomes, Christian Gross and Jose Peseiro. UPDATED: Ahly win 45th Egyptian league title - Egyptian Football
Ahly were crowned Egyptian Premier League champions after a 6-0 thrashing of Pharco FC on Wednesday. Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali stole the spotlight, scoring a super hat-trick for the Red Devils, while winger Hussein El-Shahat and midfielder Emam Ashour netted the fifth and sixth goals, respectively, to complete the rout. The reigning champions entered the clash atop the league standings with 55 points, two points ahead of second-placed Pyramids FC, meaning a draw would suffice to retain the title in front of a massive crowd. Ten minutes into the first half, Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharki initiated a swift counterattack, threading a precise pass to Ahmed 'Koka' Nabil on the left flank, to deliver a pinpoint cross to Abou Ali, who converted from close range with a right-footed shot into the centre of the goal. Three minutes before halftime, Bencharki weaved through the left side before setting up Abou Ali for a second clinical finish. The decisive moment arrived 10 minutes after the break when Pharco FC goalkeeper Mohamed Shika received a red card for a reckless challenge on Emam Ashour following a VAR review. Abou Ali completed his hat-trick in the 61st minute, curling a free-kick into the bottom right corner with his right foot. The talented midfielder was named Man of the Match on 7 occasions, the most won by any player this season. Ahly will depart for the U.S. next week to prepare for the FIFA Club World Cup.
