Dogwoof has acquired world sales rights for Kim Novak documentary biopic 'Kim Novak's Vertigo,' directed and written by Alexandre O. Philippe.
'Kim Novak's Vertigo,' which is a working title, is in post-production, and is due for delivery this fall. It marks Dogwoof's fourth collaboration with Philippe, following '78/52,' 'Memory: The Origins of Alien' and 'Lynch/Oz.'

The film is an intimate portrait of the fiercely independent star, who left Hollywood behind to live life on her own terms, 'revealing a haunting, resilient journey of art, identity and authenticity in the shadow of one of cinema's most iconic roles,' according to Dogwoof.
The film will blend rare archival footage with personal reflections from Novak and glimpses into her reclusive life along Oregon's wild Rogue River, and traces her path from mid-century cinema icon to fiercely private artist.
Alfred Hitchcock's 'Vertigo' remains her most iconic role, and the film explores how that performance — and the duality it captured — mirrors the ongoing tension between image and identity that shaped her life.
There has been a resurgence of media interest in Novak recently, following the announcement of Colman Domingo's directorial debut, 'Scandalous!,' starring Sydney Sweeney in the role of Novak and David Jonsson as Sammy Davis Jr.

Blake Lively Abandons Claims Against Justin Baldoni of Infliction of Emotional Distress
Blake Lively is attempting to withdraw her claims against Justin Baldoni of intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress. The move comes after Baldoni's legal team sought discovery that included her medical records in their efforts to defend the 'It Ends With Us' director against her claim that she suffered 'severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment, belittlement, frustration and mental anguish.' Lively's attempt to withdraw the two claims surfaced in a filing Monday by Baldoni's attorneys, who are seeking to compel the actress to sign a HIPAA release for access to therapy notes and other relevant information. 'Instead of complying with the Medical RFPs, Ms. Lively's counsel recently advised us, in writing, that Ms. Lively is withdrawing her [infliction of emotional distress] Claims,' today's filing states. 'However, Ms. Lively has refused the Wayfarer Parties' reasonable request that the withdrawal of such claims be with prejudice. She is only willing to withdraw her claims without prejudice. In other words, Ms. Lively wants to simultaneously: (a) refuse to disclose the information and documents needed to disprove that she suffered any emotional distress and/or that the Wayfarer Parties were the cause; and (b) maintain the right to re-file her IED Claims at an unknown time in this or some other court after the discovery window has closed.' It is standard procedure in cases alleging physical or emotional injury for the defense to access the plaintiff's medical records that would shine a light on the root and scope of alleged distress. What is unusual is for a plaintiff to abandon the claims midstream given that it is well known heading into such a lawsuit that medical records will be an unpleasant but inevitable part of the discovery process. The filing, addressed to Judge Liman in U.S. District Court Southern District of New York and signed by Baldoni attorney Kevin Fritz, offers a window on a back and forth that appears to have played out between lawyers for the dueling sides. It continues: 'Ms. Lively cannot have it both ways. If Ms. Lively wants to withdraw her frivolous IED Claims, the Wayfarer Parties are entitled to a dismissal with prejudice to ensure they will not be re-filed. If Ms. Lively is unwilling to stipulate to the dismissal of her IED Claims with prejudice, then the Wayfarer Parties will continue to defend against them, and she must produce her medical information and documents as set forth herein.' The two emotional distress claims were key components of Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni, which she filed in federal court in December after he sued the New York Times for defamation over its story about what happened on the set and in the run-up to the release of the 2024 domestic violence drama, which became a box-office hit, earning $351 million at the box office worldwide off of a $25 million budget. Lively claims she was sexually harassed by Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath and subjected to a smear campaign by his proxies when she complained. Baldoni, who is suing Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for $400 million, claims the 'It Ends With Us' star tried to extort him and subsequently defamed him. 'By alleging that she suffered physical and emotional injuries, Ms. Lively has placed her physical and mental condition at issue and, in turn, must produce relevant information and documents [including] psychiatric records,' today's filing states. 'In other words, Ms. Lively has waived any doctor-patient privilege.' The twists and turns in the saga, which now includes six related lawsuits, have hit the docket quickly. Baldoni is also suing and being sued by his former publicist Stephanie Jones who he claims leaked text messages that sparked the ordeal. Netflix's "Frankenstein" movie features Oscar Isaac as the titular mad scientist. "Saltburn" and "Euphoria" star Jacob Elordi plays Frankenstein's monster. Here's what we know so far about the film directed by the Oscar-winning director, Guillermo del Toro. Guillermo del Toro's"Frankenstein" is coming to Netflix this fall, with Oscar Isaac playing Victor Frankenstein, the mad scientist who builds a monster (Jacob Elordi) using dead people's body parts. Based on Mary Shelley's 1818 novel "Frankenstein," the synopsis for the film reads: "A brilliant but egotistical scientist brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation." Netflix released the first "Frankenstein" trailer at its annual "Tudum" event on May 31, giving subscribers a glimpse of del Toro's gothic vision for the story. Here's what to know about the film. The first 'Frankenstein' trailer shows off Guillermo del Toro's faithful adaptation of the book The first trailer establishes how Frankenstein is obsessed with the idea of building a creature. In the ominous voiceover, he says: "I had a vision, an idea took shape in my mind. Inevitable, unavoidable, until it became truth." It shows his sprawling laboratory and the device he hooks up to a lightning rod on the building's spire to give life to his monster. Unlike previous adaptations of Shelley's book, del Toro's "Frankenstein" appears to be faithful to the source material. Most other adaptations do not feature Frankenstein chasing the monster into the Arctic toward the end of the plot. But the trailer includes snowy scenes depicting a frost-bitten Frankenstein, a ship trapped in the ice, and the monster attacking some of the crew. Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz star alongside Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi in 'Frankenstein' Isaac and Elordi are not the only big names that del Toro has recruited for his gothic sci-fi movie. Joining them are Christian Convery as young Frankenstein, "MaXXXine" star Mia Goth as Frankenstein's fiancée Elizabeth Lavenza, and " Inglourious Basterds" actor Christoph Waltz as Harlander. "Ahsoka" star Lars Mikkelsen plays Captain Anderson, the man leading an expedition to the Arctic, while Ralph Ineson of the "Fantastic Four" will play Professor Kempe. "Harry Potter" alumnus David Bradley will play the Blind Man. 'Frankenstein' is scheduled to arrive on Netflix in November Netflix has not confirmed a specific release date for del Toro's "Frankenstein," but has confirmed that the film will arrive in November 2025. And although the movie arrives around Halloween time, horror fans likely shouldn't expect jump scares. Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival in May, del Toro said: "Somebody asked me the other day, 'Does it have really scary scenes?' For the first time, I considered that. It's an emotional story for me," Variety reported. "It's as personal as anything. I'm asking a question about being a father, being a son… I'm not doing a horror movie — ever. I'm not trying to do that."

Blake Lively drops two claims against Justin Baldoni
The actress Blake Lively has attempted to withdraw two of the claims she made about director Justin Baldoni. Both have been engaged in a legal dispute since Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 after they worked together on the film It Ends With Us, accusing him of sexual harassment and a smear campaign. Baldoni's legal team asked Lively to release her medical records, including therapy notes, as part of its defence against her claims she suffered "severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment", Variety said. Lively is trying to drop claims of intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress, the publication added. The court will decide if it will dismiss the claims or compel Lively to hand over information related to her mental health. Variety approached Baldoni's lawyers, who have declined comment. The BBC has also approached both parties for comment. Documents filed by Baldoni's legal team on Monday said: "Instead of complying with the Medical RFPs [Request for Proposal], Ms Lively's counsel recently advised us, in writing, that Ms Lively is withdrawing her [infliction of emotional distress] claims." They wrote that Lively had refused their "reasonable request that the withdrawal of such claims be with prejudice" opening up the possibility they could be refiled. Lively's lawyers told Variety Baldoni's filing was "a press stunt" and said her defence was "streamlining and focusing" her case. They added: "The Baldoni-Wayfarer strategy of filing retaliatory claims has exposed them to expansive new damages claims under California law, rendering certain of Ms Lively's original claims no longer necessary. "Ms Lively continues to allege emotional distress, as part of numerous other claims in her lawsuit, such as sexual harassment and retaliation, and massive additional compensatory damages on all of her claims." In January this year, Baldoni counter-sued Lively and her husband, the actor Ryan Reynolds, on claims of civil extortion, defamation and invasion of privacy. Lively and Baldoni have been locked in a dispute since It Ends With Us, which is an adaption of a best-selling Colleen Hoover novel, was released last summer. In the film Lively played the main character, Lily Bloom, a young woman who grew up witnessing domestic abuse, and winds up in the same position years later. The singer Taylor Swift had been summoned to a US court last month, after it was alleged she encouraged Baldoni to accept script rewrites by Lively. Representatives for Swift said at the time "she was not involved in any casting or creative decision" and "never saw an edit or made any notes on the film". The subpoena was dropped about two weeks later, after Swift's legal team objected that the legal order amounted to an "unwarranted fishing expedition", Variety said.
