The Serbian debuted in the Salt Lake City Summer League last month, averaging 10.7 points, 4.3 assists, three rebounds and two steals in three appearances. He posted a similar average in three games in Las Vegas: 11 points, 7.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals. Topić was among the players named to Serbia's preliminary roster and is looking to make the final cut for the first time with the senior team. He and the team have three additional tune-up games before beginning the 42nd edition of the European tournament on Aug. 27.

Several OKC Thunder teammates attend Alex Caruso's wedding
The summer celebrations continued into August for Alex Caruso — but for a different reason. Less than two months after he captured an NBA championship with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he added another ring to his hand. Caruso married former Big Brother contestant Haleigh Broucher on Saturday, Aug. 9. The two became engaged in Aug. 2024. Several of Caruso's teammates were in attendance for the wedding. Several Thunder players posted on social media their presence at Caruso's wedding. They congratulated their veteran teammate on the special occasion. Chet Holmgren, Lu Dort, Isaiah Hartenstein, Jaylin Williams, Isaiah Joe, Cason Wallace and Branden Carlson were some of the OKC attendees. When you're around your teammates every day for nine months of the year, you tend to form close bonds. It shouldn't be surprising to see several of Caruso's teammates at his wedding. His first year on the Thunder paid off with a championship run that he contributed to. The group posed for photos at the event. They held up their ring finger for the photo. The Thunder recently learned they will receive their championship rings on Oct. 21. They will kick off the 2025-26 season by hosting the Houston Rockets and Kevin Durant.

Jimmy Butler had a mission in mind when he joined forces with the Miami Heat in 2019. He aspired to build an association like Dwyane Wade did with the city. He was well aware of the added responsibilities and pressures that came with it. Butler had the perfect start to his debut campaign, with the Heat going 16-4 in his first 20 games. He averaged 20.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 2.1 steals during that run. Many initially felt that he fit the Pat Riley system, which stressed a team mentality above individualism. It did not take him long to get used to his new surroundings. One month into the 2019-20 season, he already seemed well-versed under Coach Erik Spolestra. "Now that I'm here, (Wade) wore this jersey. I get an opportunity to rep this city as well. Like Dwyane Wade, just the hard work and dedication that goes into it. The six-time All-Star said he had lost his joy of playing and needed a change of scenery.
