Rams share new footage of Sean McVay's powerful message after playoff loss to Eagles
The Los Angeles Rams' season didn't end the way they hoped. While they may have exceeded expectations by making it to the divisional round of the playoffs, they had Super Bowl aspirations – and they came close to achieving them.
They came up just short against the Philadelphia Eagles, reaching the opposing 13-yard line with a chance to score a game-winning touchdown in the final minute. A couple of pressures by Jalen Carter derailed the drive and the Rams' season, but it was still a successful campaign for such a young team.
Sean McVay was gutted after that loss and for the first time, the Rams shared behind-the-scenes footage of his message to the team in their final meeting before breaking for the offseason. It can be seen at the beginning of the season premiere of 'Behind The Grind', which aired this week.
'Number one, the first thing I would say is just thank you. When you believe so strongly in something, there's no part of you that really thinks about the other end of it,' he said. 'That game yesterday was such a reflection of some of the different things that have occurred throughout the season. Different elements, different adversity, different ways of having to be able to overcome certain things. No way there's a chance that we're not going to win that football game. You're really 13 yards and a couple things away from us sitting here and we're talking about hosting an NFC Championship. And what will last about this team forever, it's not necessarily holding up that trophy, it's the relationships and the memories in the midst of that journey. There is no doubt about it that this team right here and the relationships that have been formed, that lasts forever. You can't take that away. It will be a very different team next year, and that's the hard part about it. But that's also the reality. This will forever be one of those memories and one of those seasons that I'll cherish and that's because of the men that I'm looking at right now. Give it up for yourselves. Love you guys, man. Appreciate it.'
It's always been easy to see why players love playing for McVay and why the Rams have become a destination team. He always gets the most out of his players and coaches, and his end-of-season speech to the entire group shows how much coaching means to him.

Panthers draft video shows how much they valued selecting Tetairoa McMillan
Panthers draft video shows how much they valued selecting Tetairoa McMillan Poring over the recent spate of team-produced, behind-the-scenes looks at the 2025 NFL Draft has been quite informative. The most recent edition of the Carolina Panthers' in-house "Panthers Blueprint" showed how close the team was to making a blockbuster trade while on the clock in April. The Panthers were set on taking Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the No. 8 pick, but the Los Angeles Rams were also very interested in McMillian. Los Angeles offered the No. 26 overall pick, a 2026 second-round pick, and two other picks. Based on the video and the comments from Panthers VP Brandt Tilis, the deal was a near-match for the common NFL draft trade charts. As noted earlier in the piece, the Panthers worked on the assumption that the player they wanted at No. 8 would not be available even if they tried to trade back up. GM Dan Morgan said of trading out, "It has to be above and beyond. We're not just going to give it away." That was true in this case, and they stood pat and took their guy in McMillan. As soon as the Rams rejected Tilis' counteroffer, Morgan immediately drafted McMillan. Overall, the entire episode is one of the most revelatory in terms of showing the Panthers' thought process behind deciding on McMillan as their guy and also how much they weighed other options, including the potential trade offer from the Rams. Morgan's smiling admission that his favorite part of the draft is "seeing if your predictions (for when players will be drafted) are as good as you thought." Mock drafters everywhere can feel that kinship with the Panthers GM. More: Tetairoa McMillan's pro day workout validates his Arizona game tape

WWE's 'The Miz' wants Browns to follow the Chiefs' rookie plan for Patrick Mahomes
WWE's 'The Miz' wants Browns to follow the Chiefs' rookie plan for Patrick Mahomes This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke to Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin about his participation in this year's American Century Championship, which will take place July 9-13 at Edgewood Tahoe, and his favorite team, the Cleveland Browns, whom he hopes will take a tip from the Kansas City Chiefs. "When I first saw what we (Cleveland Browns) did with the second pick, I wanted Travis Hunter; I think he's a generational talent. He's going to play offense-defense. The best football player in the draft is what you're hearing. And then when I saw what we got for that second pick, I was like, wow, we just got a haul. So right then and there. I said, You know what? These guys know exactly what they're doing," said Miz, "Now, do we have a huge quarterback room? Yes. But do we need a huge quarterback room? Yes, because we can never find a good quarterback who is our franchise player. So I think now is when we're going to have a little competition, like to be, you know, to go up against each other. And I'm excited to see what Shedeur (Sanders), Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, and Joe Flacco can do in that quarterback room. Hopefully, the young kids can learn from Flacco because he is a Super Bowl-winning quarterback, and I'm hoping that, you know, one of their college careers translates to the NFL." Miz mentioned Shedeur Sanders as his choice for the future franchise quarterback role. However, he wants Kansas City to utilize the process during Patrick Mahomes' rookie season. "I can sit here and say any name, and you never know until you get to the first game in the NFL and all the defensive packages are put into place, and you see how well they're able to look at the field and see the field and see where they need to go. So that's what I'm looking forward to. I look forward to seeing them get on the field and do something during a real NFL game. I'm not talking preseason, either. We can talk about the draft, rookie OTAs, regular OTAs, and the preseason. It all comes to fruition when the NFL season comes, and that's what I'm looking forward to," said Miz, "Hopefully, they'll be able to sit back and watch for a little while before they get in. I always think of what they did with Patrick Mahomes; Kansas City was the perfect situation for him. He got to sit a year learning from Alex Smith, and now he's one of the best quarterbacks ever to do it. So, hopefully, we'll be able to do the same thing." The annual tournament awards $750,000 in prize money, much of which the celebrity players donate to local and national charities. Over the years, nearly $8 million has been donated to non-profit causes. Network television exposure on NBC, along with a first-place prize of $150,000, makes the celebrity tournament one of the most prestigious in the golf world.

Eagles Remain Aligned on Post-Super Bowl Mindset
Eagles Remain Aligned on Post-Super Bowl Mindset originally appeared on Athlon Sports. There is a common theme from many of the Philadelphia Eagles' biggest stars this offseason. No one seems to care that they just won the Super Bowl. Advertisement Whether it was A.J. Brown's comments right before the parade, or Jalen Hurts ignoring comments made from the previous season, the Eagles are a team that seems hellbent on doing everything they can to reach the big game for a second straight year. And now some of their younger defensive players are getting in on that thought process. Nolan Smith, one of Philadelphia's first-round picks from the 2022 draft, is coming off a career year with the team where he recorded 6.5 sacks in the regular season and four in the playoffs. While a 24-year-old player could be excused for being focused on the numbers or joys of winning a Super Bowl, Smith couldn't be more different. Advertisement The Georgia edge rusher spoke at voluntary workouts this week with a clear mindset. The same one that the rest of the team has had for months. "Everyone is excited for the rings and all of that; I've been turning the page, especially after the parade,' said Smith. 'I got back to doing what I was doing because I know I had to rehab and gotta be stronger. I said last year, 'I gotta be bulletproof,' and that's what I'm going through every year. Build my armor going into this year.' It is clear that the entire Eagles roster is aligned on their post-victory mindset coming off one of the biggest blowouts in Super Bowl history. Time will tell if it means another chance at a championship, but it is clear the organization is ready to try and repeat.
