"Iraj Lalu Yadav": Lalu Yadav Announces Name Of His Grandson
RJD supremo Lalu Yadav on Wednesday said the family has named his grandson 'Iraj', a day after Tejashwi Yadav became a parent for the second time.
Mr Yadav, the Leader of Opposition in Bihar assembly, and his wife were on Tuesday blessed with a baby boy at a private hospital in Kolkata.
In a post on X, Mr Yadav said, "So our grand daughter Katyayani's little brother is named 'Iraj' by me and Rabri Devi. Tejashwi and Rajshree have given him full name as 'Iraj Lalu Yadav'." "Katyayani was born on Katyayani Ashtami, the 6th day of auspicious Navratri and this little bundle of joy is born on Bajrang Bali Hanuman Ji's Mangal day of Tuesday, therefore naming him 'Iraj'. Thank you all for your best wishes and blessings! The new born and his mother are doing well," he added.
So our grand daughter Katyayani's little brother is named 'Iraj' by me and Rabri Devi.

According to a family member, the baby was born at a private hospital in Kolkata where Rajshree was admitted for the last few days.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had also visited the hospital and met Mr Yadav on Tuesday.

In sixth visit to Bihar this year, PM to visit Gaya, unveil bridge over Ganga in Mokama
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit poll-bound Bihar again on August 22 to address a public meeting and unveil projects worth several thousand crores of rupees in Gaya, and inaugurate a six-lane bridge over the Ganga in Mokama. This would be Mr. Modi's sixth visit to the State since January. The election to the 243-member Bihar Assembly is coming up in October-November. Incumbent Deputy Chief Ministers and State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with BJP leader and Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Cabinet, were in Mokama on Thursday (August 21, 2025) to oversee the newly constructed 1.86 k.m. long six-lane Aunta (Mokama)-Simaria (Begusarai) bridge, which will connect Patna to Begusarai and other districts. The bridge, being built at an estimated cost of ₹1,871 crore, is designed with a single segmental structure having a 34 metre-wide deck; span lengths ranging from 57 metres to 115 metres; and 70 metre cantilever arms. The bridge on National Highway 31 has been constructed parallel to the decade-old, two-lane Rajendra Setu bridge, currently under repair. Mr. Modi has earlier this year visited Motihari, Bhagalpur, Madhubani, Rohtas and Siwan districts to address public meetings, lay foundation stones, and unveil several large projects for the State's development. There was nothing 'unusual' in the Prime Minister's regular visits to the election-bound State, the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) maintained. 'This is election year in the State and every party leader would come to address public meetings. Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and other constituent parties' leaders too are moving across the State,' JD(U) spokesperson and party leader Neeraj Kumar said. Congress leader and party spokesperson Asit Nath Tiwari had another view. 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi should come, but he should also speak on the basic issues confronting the State since long, like unemployment, migration. and deteriorating law and order,' Mr. Tiwari said. 'He (the PM) should also speak about the chaos and confusion over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in the State,' RJD leader and former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav had said earlier. Congress leader and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and Mr. Yadav, along with leaders of allied parties are currently on a 1,300 km-long 'Voter Adhikar (rights) Yatra' across 25 districts of Bihar, which would culminate in Patna on September 1 with a rally at the city's historic Gandhi Maidan.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged that the current government was formed through "stolen votes" and urged people to choose a dispensation that is "truly yours, takes responsibility and is accountable to you". In a post on X, Gandhi shared a five-minute video of him conversing with the youth of Aurangabad in poll-bound Bihar during his 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' and said people must use the power of their votes to protect Mother India and the Constitution. He asserted that a clean voter list is the cornerstone of free and fair elections and asked the people of Bihar not to let their voting rights slip away, as all their other rights rest on this very who was accompanied by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, told the youngsters that their votes were being "stolen" and the names of living people were being struck off the electoral rolls by declaring them "dead". He also asked them about their thoughts on GST, demonetisation and what they would like to change in Bihar, to which the group said that it was the government. He also shared a message in Hindi, along with the clip, in which he said, "Dear voters of India, I want to ask you a straightforward question -- can a government formed by stealing votes ever have the intention of serving the public?
