Chiellini on legendary warrior status, World Cup dream and EURO 2020 triumph
The legendary defender sat down with the Vivo Azzurro channel, representing the Nazionale, about his career at Juventus and representing his country.
'I consider Juventus to be a sort of second family. I gave the club so much, made personal sacrifices too, but was rewarded with extraordinary sporting success and the affection of millions of fans,' said Chiellini.
He was questioned on the strongest opponent he has ever faced and chose someone who he saw up close.
'Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who I also managed to play with at Juventus. The teammate who taught me the most was Cristiano Ronaldo.'

Chiellini was famously called a 'warrior' for his determination and grit on the field, especially when ending matches patched up and bloody.
'The idea of being a 'warrior' is part of me, but in the early years it felt almost as if I needed an enemy to fight against. I worked on that aspect of myself, because ultimately it was just a waste of energy. I will add that the birth of my first daughter also helped the maturation process.'
The defender was part of the iconic squad that won the EURO 2020 trophy, but he admits to regrets from Italy's World Cup campaigns.
'All the World Cups went badly for me. In 2010 and 2014, we didn't get beyond the first round, then we didn't even qualify for the next two. When we lost the play-offs to Sweden in 2017, I didn't sleep for several nights.
'However, I have unforgettable memories of that victory at Wembley, it was incredibly satisfying to experience that with my teammates.'

Chiellini was part of the iconic 'BBC' defence, formed of Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Chiellini, but he insists they were not the best trio in Italy history.
'No, because if I think back to Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta and Fabio Cannavaro… I certainly cannot consider myself better than them. There is a lot of talent today too, look at Alessandro Bastoni, Riccardo Calafiori, Alessandro Buongiorno.'
Italy have missed the last two editions of the World Cup and even their participation in 2026 is in doubt after a bad start to qualifying.
'Our lads have to qualify to give this joy to children who grew up never even seeing Italy play in a World Cup. I dream of a Final between Italy and Ancelotti's Brazil. That would be an historic match.'

J.J. McCarthy shows progress in Vikings-Patriots joint practice
There's a lot to be gleaned from the Minnesota Vikings' final day of joint practice with the New England Patriots. J.J. McCarthy, in likely his last reps against another team until the regular season, looked good in the 11-on-11 portion. McCarthy had a long stretch of passes without an incompletion. The play of the day was a long, 57-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Jones. "It was nice to hit Aaron down the field. There was a little pocket movement before that," McCarthy said after practice. "I felt like the ball placement was there. A lot more accurate today than yesterday. But still a lot of throws that I want back and could put in better spots." McCarthy was significantly better on Thursday versus Wednesday's joint practice reps. Noticeable chemistry has developed with Jordan Addison, who had six catches and two touchdowns in Thursday's practice. "It felt decisive," said head coach Kevin O'Connell. "An incredible amount of conviction to some of the throws that he made. Location of the football." This week with the Patriots has also been another reunion with the Minneapolis Miracle Man himself: Stefon Diggs. Competing in individual wide receiver/cornerback drills with guys like Isaiah Rodgers, who will play a big role in his first season as a Viking. "One on ones is one on ones. And on the other side of the city, Martin is feeling the heat already. In fact, some cocky Parkhead punters think the Ibrox gaffer might struggle to get into SECOND place. First up, Gordon Ashley from Ayr said: 'Why are Rangers fans getting so upset? When you see their true position in Scottish football, last year Aberdeen were the champions' biggest challengers for silverware - and this year it will be Hearts. 'Celtic are more than double the size of their club and the glory days are over for Rangers, so get used to it guys.' Ultimately, they both end in tears.' Don't give up the day job, Stephen. At Ibrox, all is not well after their home draw with the Dark Blues where fans made their feelings known towards Martin. And he wasn't getting much Hotline sympathy either. David Thomson from Milngavie said: 'Martin isn't helping himself with some of the things he's coming out with. He says Rangers are now unbeaten in five games but supporters don't want to hear that. 'If we lose to Celtic at Ibrox on August 31 and go 10 points behind, the league season will be over and the kids are barely back at school. That's not good enough.' The Gers gaffer was cut a bit of slack by Drew Ferguson from Oban who said: 'Irrespective of whether you like or dislike Martin, he needs to be given time. New players are still trying to develop relationships on the pitch. 'What is clear is that Max Aarons isn't superior to anything we've already got. And Martin still needs a left-back, centre-back and striker.' Elsewhere, Hearts have started the season on fire and - if Tony Bloom is to be believed - will mount a title challenge of their own. Unsurprisingly, their rivals from across the city aren't having it. Neil Renton from Leith said: 'Never mind Liam Gallagher having a go at Edinburgh Council - it can't be long before Hearts fans do the same. 'After all, how come they've not been allowed to have a parade after winning the league? Some might say the Jambos shouldn't get too carried away after just two games!' Someone who won't get carried away, despite being on the verge of a massive move to Serie A, is humble Scotland star Lennon Miller. The 18-year-old is on his way to Udinese where he'll join the likes of Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour and Lewis Ferguson in the Italian top flight. Celtic were rumoured to be interested in Miller but one punter says that was never going to happen. Stephen Mulhern from Dumbarton said: 'The will he, won't he Miller saga is reaching a conclusion as he heads to Italy. 'I don't agree this is a John McGinn situation for Celtic. The fact is, we have an abundance of talent in midfield and Miller would have been warming the bench. At this stage of his career, he obviously wants to be in a starting line-up.'
