I wanted to be a singer, comedy just happened: Sudesh Lehri
Almost two decades later, Lehri is now a well-established name in the world of television comedy and has even worked in films like 'Ready" with Salman Khan and 'Loveyaapa" and 'Dreamgirl 2".
'I didn't choose comedy, it just happened. I wanted to be a singer. I used to sing songs on stage but people would like me more in comedy. I would often mimick the singer whose song I was singing and people used to like that. I would also copy people and I realised that comedy was fun because you get the response instantly," Lehri told PTI in an interview. The comedian said it was not easy to transition from Punjab to Mumbai. 'I'm not educated… Going from Punjabi to Hindi was a challenge, but while acting, it just kept happening (learning). I've been in Mumbai for at least 18 years… I'm having a lot of fun," he said.
The actor, who was last seeen in 'Laughter Chefs 2", is now part of JioHotstar show 'Pati Patni Aur Panga" with wife Mamta Lehri.
The show also features other celebrity couples like Hina Khan-Rocky Jaiswal, Rubina Dilaik-Abhinav Shukla, Debina Bonnerjee-Gurmeet Choudhary, Avika Gor-Milind Chandwani, Swara Bhaskar-Fahad Ahmad and Geeta Phogat-Pawan Kumar.
'When we shot it, it was fun. We are having a lot of fun. We're getting money, and it's easy," Lehri said about the show. PTI NM BK BK

She further expressed gratitude towards Rajan Shahi and the entire team of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and added, 'I shall remain eternally grateful to all of you for the wonderful times. A big thank you to all the fans and well-wishers who showed immense love towards my character." Niyati also made it clear that she is now looking for more opportunities and urged the casting directors to approach her with work. 'As I begin a new chapter of my life, I once again feel like a fresher, eager to learn and explore," she concluded. Sarzameen, also starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kajol, follows the story of an Indian Army officer—played by Prithviraj Sukumaran — whose worst fears come true when he learns that his estranged son, portrayed by Ibrahim Ali Khan, has joined a militant group. The film attempts to explore generational trauma, ideological conflicts, and fractured familial bonds against the backdrop of a volatile region. The film marks Kayoze Irani's directorial debut. Produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, and Apoorva Mehta under Dharma Productions, in collaboration with Star Studios, the film was released on JioHotstar on July 25, 2025. Hundreds throng as Akshay Kumar inaugurates a showroom in Jammu
Jammu, Aug 12 (PTI) Akshay Kumar drew a huge crowd of enthusiastic fans who waited for hours in overcast conditions to catch a glimpse of the actor as he unveiled a new showroom here. Fans including men, women and children from the city and outside J&K gathered in anticipation of the actor's arrival to inaugurate Kalyan Jewellers' showroom at Dogra Chowk here. Kumar, whose upcoming film 'Jolly LLB 3" is scheduled to release on September 19, thanked the people of Jammu for their warm welcome. 'Jai Mata Di", the actor said as he reached the stage and announced that he had reached on time and there should be no complaint from anyone. 'I am delighted to be here today for the inauguration of Kalyan Jewellers' grand flagship showroom. It is a privilege to represent Kalyan Jewellers, a brand deeply rooted in the values of trust, transparency, and customer focus," he said. The actor reciprocated the chants of 'I love you" from the fans and also repeated 'Khand Meethe Log Dogre' – the phrase coming from the folk song 'O Mithi Dogre Di Boli Te Khand Mithe Log Dogre," meaning 'Sweet is the Dogri tongue sweet are the Dogras."
