Steven Tyler and Joe Perry have lunch in Florida. Could an Aerosmith reunion be next?
Singer Steven Tyler, 77, and guitarist Joe Perry, 74, of Aerosmith were spotted grabbing a bite and posing for a photo together at Morton's Gourmet Market, a longtime specialty food store in Sarasota. The market opened in 1969 — just a year before Aerosmith launched the career that would eventually land the band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
In the photo shared by Morton's on social media, Tyler — wearing a sheer black shirt, patterned pants, layered necklaces, and holding a Morton's bag — stands smiling next to two employees in branded black shirts. To their right is Perry, in a burgundy button-down shirt, ripped jeans, beaded jewelry, and his signature wild hair, completing a snapshot that must have delighted fans and likely surprised a few unsuspecting shoppers.
Why did Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith visit Morton's in Florida?
A manager for Morton's — which opened more than half a century ago when Ted Morton purchased Marable's Market — could not be immediately reached for comment. However, the gourmet grocery store revealed on social media that the rock stars, once known as the 'Toxic Twins,' dropped in for a bite to eat.
'Never a dull moment at the market!' Morton's posted on Thursday, June 19. 'Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith dropped by for lunch. Awesome guys!'
Of course, Sarasota has deep ties to Aerosmith, with Perry owning a home on Longboat Key. But appearances by the guitar hero remain rare — especially ones where he's accompanied by his longtime lead singer and songwriting partner, a duo responsible for such classic rock anthems as the Aerosmith hits 'Walk This Way,' 'Same Old Song and Dance,' and 'Back in the Saddle.'
Could an Aerosmith reunion be happening?
Aerosmith retired from touring last year after Tyler suffered a vocal cord injury. But Perry is preparing to get back on stage with his namesake group — and some familiar faces are joining him.
The Joe Perry Project's eight-date run kicks off Aug. 13 at the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center and features fellow Aerosmith members Brad Whitford and Buck Johnson, along with Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes and Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz of Stone Temple Pilots.
Could Tyler make a surprise appearance? The Sarasota sighting certainly fuels the speculation. Perry's publicist did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Jennifer Aniston Says She Mourned Matthew Perry For A ‘Long Time' Before His Death
Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she and the Friends cast had been 'mourning' Matthew Perry long before his death in October 2023, due to his prolonged battle with addiction. Speaking to Vanity Fair in a new cover story, Aniston opened up about the reality of watching her co-star struggle with substance abuse over the years. 'We did everything we could when we could,' she said. 'But it almost felt like we'd been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight.' Perry, who played Chandler Bing opposite Aniston's Rachel Green, died at age 54 from the 'acute effects' of ketamine. He had been open about his decades-long struggle with drugs and alcohol, detailing his experiences in his 2022 memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. In his memoir, Perry revealed that Aniston 'was the one who reached out the most' during his journey to sobriety, and that she had confronted him about his drinking patterns. The cast's efforts to support their colleague continued both during the show's run and in the years following its 2004 finale. Despite their attempts to help, Aniston acknowledged the limitations of what friends and family can do when someone is battling addiction. 'As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there's a part of me that thinks this is better,' she told the outlet. Perry had previously praised his co-stars' loyalty in his memoir, writing: 'In nature, when a penguin is injured, the other penguins group around it and prop it up until it's better. This is what my co-stars on Friends did for me.' Though he was 18 months sober at the time of his book's release, Perry died in October 2023 due to acute effects of ketamine. Following his death, several people were charged in connection with supplying him with the drug, including Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who pleaded guilty to four counts of distribution of ketamine. After Perry's death, Aniston shared a heartfelt Instagram tribute that included a text message Perry had sent her featuring a photo of them laughing on set, with the message: 'Making you laugh just made my day. It made my day.' In that post, she wrote: 'Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I've never experienced before. He was such a part of our DNA. We were always the six of us.' ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. A Source Reveals Why Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau Are 'Just Casual'
THE RUNDOWN Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are keeping things informal as they continue to spend time together. A source speaking with Entertainment Tonight said the pop star and former Canadian prime minister are 'having fun together and getting to know one another.' 'Justin is charismatic and has great energy, which is exactly what Katy wants and needs at the moment,' the source shared. 'For now, things are just casual.' The insider also commented on Perry's dynamic with her ex-fiancé, Orlando Bloom, from whom she split in July after six years of being engaged. The pair also shares a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy. According to the source, Bloom is 'doing his thing and dating,' but 'things still aren't great' between him and Perry. 'Their relationship is a bit awkward and strained,' the insider said. Perry and Trudeau first sparked romance rumors in late July when they were seen together on a three-stop date in Montreal. They were photographed walking in Mount Royal Park, dining at Le Violon, and then having drinks at Taverne Atlantic. Two days later, Trudeau attended Perry's concert in the city with his daughter, Ella-Grace, where fans saw him singing along to 'Firework.' Earlier this month, a source told People, 'They are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes. She is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common.' 'Their own personal responsibilities could make this relationship move slower than it would,' the source added. 'But there are ways to see the other and still fulfill their parenting responsibilities. For one thing, they each have an ex. So, duties are split in half. And long-distance relationships, while still hard, are possible for these two.' Neither Perry nor Trudeau has publicly commented on the nature of their relationship.

Iconic Rock Band's Lead Singer ‘Doesn't Want To' Continue Farewell Tour
Iconic Rock Band's Lead Singer 'Doesn't Want To' Continue Farewell Tour originally appeared on Parade. It looks like Aerosmith won't reunite for their farewell tour after all, and fans are 'Cryin'.' Joe Perry, the group's founding lead guitarist and backup vocalist, recently visited former bandmate Steven Tyler. The musicians met in mid-July to chat about the possibility of picking off where they left off before cancelling their 'Peace Out' farewell tour in August 2024 – and hard truths were met. 'I would bet that there's an Aerosmith show left,' Joe, 74, told WBUR in a story published on Tuesday, August 12. 'There's been talk about doing a documentary, that might be part of it. I've been spending a lot of time with Steven, and he just doesn't want to tour – and he can't tour. It's tough.' The 'Peace Out' tour began in 2023 before abruptly coming to an end after Steven, 77, suffered a serious vocal cord injury. Joe admitted that even he wasn't 'sure [he] would want to go out and book another 40-city tour.' 'It's a long way to the top and staying there takes it out of you, especially an Aerosmith tour,' he added. Weeks prior, Joe shared that he had a feeling Aerosmith's touring days were a thing of the past after talking with his bandmates 'quite a bit.' 'We're all flesh and blood. I don't know, man,' Joe told WZXL's Kenny Young on July 30. 'I would say, at some point we will all be together on the same stage… If I was a betting man, which I am, I would say, at some point something's gonna happen. But we'll see.' Aerosmith fans were hopeful for good news regarding the farewell tour after Steven performed at Black Sabbath's 'Back to the Beginning' concert on July 5. The former American Idol host rocked out to Aerosmith hits 'Train Kept a Rollin'' and 'Walk This Way.' He also covered Led Zeppelin's song 'Whole Lotta Love.' 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Iconic Rock Band's Lead Singer 'Doesn't Want To' Continue Farewell Tour first appeared on Parade on Aug 13, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Aug 13, 2025, where it first appeared.
