PM Modi, Malaysian counterpart review ties at Brics Summit sidelines

Mohan Yadav to pitch Madhya Pradesh to foreign investors during Dubai, Spain visits
New Delhi [India], July 13 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Sunday that he would pitch his state to foreign investors during his visits to Dubai and Spain. The chief minister is set to leave for Dubai this afternoon. 'We are all working equally hard in every sector for the betterment of our state... Across the country, we have been conducting a grand endeavour to attract investors, and we are receiving tremendous support for it,' Yadav told reporters. 'This year, for the foreign visit, I will be travelling to Dubai and Spain from today until the 19th. There, too, we will introduce our foreign investors who want to expand their businesses to the possibilities in Madhya Pradesh,' he said. As per an official release, the chief minister will meet several well-known people to tell them about the strengths of Madhya Pradesh. He will speak about investment, education, and building strong cultural ties between Madhya Pradesh and Dubai. He will also meet members of the Indian community living there. During his visit, Yadav will also visit a temple in Dubai whose foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Apart from this, he will also hold the first international roadshow in Dubai. Yadav's visit will start with several meetings. There will be important discussions along with lunch in the initial meeting. Reliance Group SR Vice President Farhan Ansari, as well as Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammad Al Yamahi will also be present in this meeting. In this meeting, topics like strategic investment cooperation, education, youth exchange program, parliamentary dialogue and cultural friendship between Madhya Pradesh and Dubai will be discussed. Election Commission of India activates field machinery for possible pan-India voter list revision from next month
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has activated its poll machinery across states for a possible roll out of pan-India special intensive revision (SIR) next month, just like the one being carried out in Bihar. The move comes after the Supreme Court last week called the SIR a 'constitutional mandate' and permitted the poll panel to continue with the exercise in Bihar. Also Read: Careful curation | On Bihar's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls Several opposition parties and others had moved the top court challenging the intensive revision, saying it will deprive eligible citizens of their right to vote. Some of the State Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) have started putting out the voters' list published after the last SIR held in their states. The website of Delhi CEO has the 2008 voters' list when the last intensive revision took place in the national capital. In Uttarakhand, the last SIR took place in 2006 and that year's electoral roll is now on the state CEO website. The last SIR in states will serve as cut-off dates, as the 2003 voters' list of Bihar is being used by the ECI for intensive revision. Most of the states carried out the revision of electoral rolls between 2002 and 2004. Also Read: Bihar Special Intensive Revision: The struggle to be counted The poll authority will take a final call on the nationwide exercise after July 28, when the Bihar SIR case will come up again for hearing in the top court, an official suggested. The ECI announced that it will eventually carry out an intensive review of electoral rolls across India to remove foreign illegal migrants by checking their place of birth. Bihar is going to the polls this year, while Assembly polls in these five other states – Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal – are scheduled in 2026. The move assumes significance in the wake of a crackdown in various states on illegal foreign migrants, including from Bangladesh and Myanmar.
