Max Verstappen confirms he's staying at Red Bull next season: 'If my boat is next to Toto's, then it is'
Max Verstappen has finally put to rest the rumours about his plans to quit Red Bull and join a rival team, as he continues to fall short of more race wins despite giving his best. The 27-year-old has now addressed the speculation and confirmed that he is staying with the team this season as well as the next.
His statement comes amid rumours of him meeting Toto Wolff and planning a move to Mercedes.
Max Verstappen on staying at Red Bull
Addressing the rumours, Max Verstappen told Formula1.com, 'The thing is, people are waffling so much throughout the whole season, while the only one that actually can or should speak is not speaking. That's me, and I do that on purpose because it makes no sense to start throwing things around — and actually, that should be the same for everyone.
Some people just like to stir the pot, some people just like to create drama.
But for me, it's always been quite clear — and also for next year.'

He also touched upon the widely reported news that his yacht was spotted near Toto Wolff's and that they met in Sardinia. Speaking about it, he said, 'I'm discussing with the team already the plans — the things that we want to change next year — so that means I'm also staying with the team for next year.

Max Verstappen's performance this season
Max Verstappen has often spoken about the problems he has been facing with his Red Bull car this season. Despite the updates, he has yet to win more than two Grands Prix, despite being the reigning Formula 1 champion after securing the title last year. He won the Japanese Grand Prix and the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix this season and finished second in three more races. He also won two F1 Sprints, but those do not count as Grand Prix wins.
He also has a clause in his contract that allows him to join another team if he fails to rank among the top three in the F1 Driver Standings.

'Like Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav must ...': Robin Uthappa explains India's selection call in England Tests
Kuldeep Yadav (Getty Images) NEW DELHI: Former India batter Robin Uthappa has offered a nuanced perspective on the omission of Kuldeep Yadav from India's playing XI during the recently concluded Test series against England, which ended in a 2-2 draw. While several voices criticised the Indian team management for not picking the in-form wrist-spinner on responsive surfaces, Uthappa argued that selection is not just about bowling skill — it's about team balance and depth. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Speaking on his YouTube channel, Uthappa said, 'Put Kuldeep in the 11 and make sure your batting is still in a state where none of the fans will go after the team management or the captain. With all due respect to Kuldeep's prowess with the ball, he's got limitations to his batting. That's going to take a lot of effort from his side.' Poll Should Kuldeep Yadav have been included in India's playing XI against England? Yes, he should have played. No, team balance was more important. Uthappa went on to compare Kuldeep's case with that of Ravichandran Ashwin , India's former premier off-spinner, who also offers consistent runs lower down the order. 'Ashwin has got five or six Test hundreds. If Kuldeep can do that at number eight or nine, then he will certainly play more Tests,' Uthappa added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Discover the AI-powered language app that's changing how everyone learns Talkpal AI Undo Inside The Oval: An Exclusive Tour of the Stadium Where India Played the Final Test Apart from bowling combinations, Uthappa also praised young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal , who scored 411 runs in the series. 'I think he's an absolute cricket nut. He is obsessed with the game, batting, and scoring runs. That's what makes him a unique prospect,' he said. Reflecting on Shubman Gill's leadership, Uthappa stated, 'We've seen Shubman's captaincy in this series — good at times and passive at others. Tactically, he will grow. As a leader, he is coming into his own since leading Gujarat Titans.' Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

'Thrown that thing in the trash': Travis Kelce doesn't dwell on defeats, says he's mentally ready for a fresh new season
Travis Kelce gets candid about Super Bowl loss, says he's mentally ready for a fresh new season (Getty Images) After a humbling defeat in Super Bowl LIX, most players might still carry the sting into a new season. But not Travis Kelce . As the Kansas City Chiefs regroup for another shot at glory, their star tight end has made it clear: the past is behind him, and he's laser-focused on what lies ahead. Entering his 13th NFL season, Kelce is embracing the grind with renewed energy and a championship mindset that continues to define his legendary career. Travis Kelce throws Super Bowl LIX loss 'in the trash' as he eyes a powerful Chiefs comeback Travis Kelce isn't letting the blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles define the offseason narrative. 'I've thrown that thing in the trash,' he said candidly, as reported by ESPN's Nate Taylor. 'I've moved on. It happened sooner than you can imagine. I was pretty focused on this year in the offseason.' Chiefs Steve Spagnuolo and Select Players Speak to the Media at Training Camp | AUGUST 6, 2025 That mental shift seems to have done wonders for the soon-to-be 36-year-old. Rather than sulking in the shadows of what could've been a historic three-peat, Kelce is leading by example. According to Taylor, he hasn't missed a single offseason practice and has consistently been one of the Chiefs' most active participants in training camp. "You've got to go through the dog days and enjoy it for what it is, man," Kelce said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Unsold 2022 Cars Now Almost Free - Prices May Surprise You Unsold Cars | Search Ads Learn More Undo "We're rocking and rolling, man. Head coach Andy Reid couldn't help but praise his commitment: 'He's svelte right now. He looks like he's 20... I'm not sure he didn't come in first on the whole conditioning thing.' Reid emphasized just how much effort Kelce has put in, noting, 'You can see he's been working out. He's worked hard to get to this spot.' Chiefs is ready and all-in for 2025 With 10 Pro Bowl nods, three Super Bowl rings, and numerous franchise records under his belt, Kelce's résumé speaks volumes. But accolades aren't what keep him going—his passion for the game does. 'Football has always been the biggest driving force I've ever had,' Kelce reflected. 'I love coming out here and focusing on this and getting better for another run at hopefully a Super Bowl.' This season, he's again living in the Missouri Western State University dorms during training camp—a gesture that reflects his deep-rooted commitment to team culture. 'I love it here. It gets me away from everything else that's going on in this crazy world,' Kelce added. 'You can really just focus in on your craft.' The Chiefs may have missed the history books with the failed three-peat, but if Kelce's mindset is any indication, Kansas City's dynasty is far from done. 'Held back when team needed more': Former India pacer questions Jasprit Bumrah's impact in drawn England series
India captain Shubman Gill with pacer Jasprit Bumrah. NEW DELHI: India's hard-fought 2-2 series draw against England in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy produced numerous standout performances, but not everyone lived up to the billing. Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan expressed disappointment in Jasprit Bumrah 's performance, despite the pacer finishing as one of the top wicket-takers in the series. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Bumrah featured in only three of the five Tests due to workload management. While he returned with 14 wickets at an average of 26.00 — including two five-wicket hauls — Pathan felt Bumrah lacked the killer instinct in crucial moments. Poll How would you rate Jasprit Bumrah's performance in the recent series against England? Outstanding Good Average Below Expectations 'Bumrah will get six out of ten,' Pathan said on his YouTube channel. 'When you're a senior player, there is a lot of responsibility to win matches. He played three Tests, and India didn't win any of them.' Citing specific examples, Pathan pointed to the series opener where Bumrah took five wickets in the first innings but failed to pick up a single in the second while defending a sizeable total of 370. Inside The Oval: An Exclusive Tour of the Stadium Where India Played the Final Test 'At that crucial time, your main match-winner has to find a way — over the wicket, around the wicket, yorkers, slower balls, bouncers — anything to create pressure. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo That didn't happen. In the Leeds Test, we did not see that pressure being built. England ended up scoring heavily, and Bumrah did not take a single wicket,' he added. The former pacer also noted Bumrah's reluctance to stretch spells when India needed breakthroughs. 'There were moments, like when a sixth over was needed. Joe Root had been dismissed by him 11 times, and in that Lord's Test, Bumrah bowled just five overs. That one more over could've pushed harder. I felt he held back.' While acknowledging Bumrah's name going up on the Lord's honours board, Pathan stressed that the world's top-ranked Test bowler is held to a higher standard. 'He took a five-wicket haul and got his name on the Lord's honours board. But when you are the number one bowler, there is an expectation of number one-level performance, and I felt he did not quite live up to that.'
