Via an online ceremony, The Television Critics Association (TCA) today announced the winners of the organization's 41st Annual TCA Awards, honoring the best television offerings from the 2024-2025 season.
HBO's dynamic first-year medical drama The Pitt topped all other programs with four wins, including the top prize: Program of the Year Award.
The series' other victories include Achievement in Drama, Outstanding New Program, plus an Individual Achievement in Drama award was bestowed upon lead the series lead actor Noah Wyle, earning his first TCA Award.
In his acceptance speech, Wyle remarked, 'It is an honor to be nominated, especially in that company, and it is incredibly gratifying to win. I've known a lot of you for a long time. You've written some lovely things about me through the years and about my shows, especially this one.'
Somebody Somewhere star Bridget Everett has been given the Individual Achievement in Comedy award for her role as Sam Miller, and says about receiving the award, 'I am beyond grateful to be honored for this show, which has meant so much to me. And I'm especially grateful to have the opportunity to thank you, the critics, who saw what we were trying to do from the very beginning.'
Peacock's The Traitors won its second consecutive Outstanding Achievement in Reality award. Host and executive producer Alan Cumming upon receiving this recognition said, '[It] really means a lot, especially coming from the critics, because when you start something new and different and you're trying to change a genre, in a way, it's really heartening that the critics get that and notice and receive it in the way that it was intended and support it.'
Other notable winners include Apple TV+'s star-studded industry satire The Studio , whose inaugural season produced a win for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy. Netflix's headline-grabbing portrait of online extremism Adolescence nabbed Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries or Specials, while HBO's powerful two-part Paul Reuben profile Pee-wee as Himself pedaled off with Outstanding Achievement in News and Information.

Bates' award is in recognition of five decades of excellence at the highest levels of both stage and screen. A respected Oscar and Golden Globe winner whose impressive resumé boasts touted turns in blockbuster films such as Misery , Titanic , Primary Colors , About Schmidt , Fried Green Tomatoes , and The Waterboy , Bates has seamlessly parlayed her big screen skills into TV immortality. She most notably showcased her wide-ranging repertoire with consecutive Emmy wins in 2012 and 2013, where she was awarded Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance as Charlie Harper's Ghost on 'Two and a Half Men,' followed by Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her portrayal of the devious Delphine LaLaurie in 'American Horror Story: Coven.'
Her diverse television credits also include celebrated roles in a bevy of hit series and specials such as The Office, Six Feet Under, King of the Hill, The Big Bang Theory, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Harry's Law, Feud: Bette and Joan , and many more. Bates can currently be seen as the titular legal extraordinaire in the modern reimagining of Matlock on CBS, for which she recently received her landmark 15th Emmy nomination.\
In presenting one of its highest honors—the prestigious Heritage Award — TCA chose to recognize the family friendly long-running series Sesame Street in recognition of the groundbreaking program's enduring cultural impact and strong commitment to helping generations of children learn their ABCs, 123s, and so much more.
Sesame Street made television history as the first kid-focused series to employ educational goals and develop its programming around an actual curriculum.
'Thank you, TCA,' Elmo said in his acceptance on behalf of the show. 'You know, you're some of our favorite letters on Sesame Street . We're gonna put this award on a shelf in Hooper's Store for everyone to see. Oh, Elmo hopes the Cookie Monster doesn't try to eat it, though! Thank you, TCA. Elmo loves you.'

With nearly 60 years of sustained success to its credit, Sesame Street stands out as one of the longest-running shows on television and is largely considered to be among the greatest programs of all time—amassing more than 220 Emmy Awards and 11 Grammys in the process. Though the show, itself, continues to grow and change in a reflection of ever-evolving tastes, interests, and curriculum, it has never lost sight of its driving initiative to instill important values of critical thinking, friendship, and curiosity in children around the world.
'Each of these TCA Award winners not only entertained us, but also immersed us in the lives of characters, both fictional and real-life. We're thrilled to honor them,' said TCA President Andy Dehnart, the founder and editor of reality blurred . 'TCA exists to support our members' work and celebrate TV's role in our culture, and with these awards and accompanying videos, we're doing both.'
Top picks for each category were revealed across TCA's social media accounts, where TCA members commended the winners' craft and work followed by an acceptance speech from winners.
TCA's cast their votes for exceptional programming offerings from the 2024-2025 television season in 14 distinct categories.

Action News Jax breaks down the City of Jacksonville's top ‘Ticket Takers'

As the Jacksonville City Council spars with the mayor's office over the distribution of the free tickets to games, concerts, and events at city-run venues, Action News Jax is digging into the numbers and revealing the city's top ticket-takers. Among city council members, Councilmember Terrance Freeman (R-Group 1 At-Large) topped the list with 96 requests over the past two years, followed by Councilmember Reggie Gaffney Jr. (D-District 8) at 37, and Councilmember Ju'coby Pittman (D-District 10) at 28. >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<< In response to making the top three list, all three council members issued statements. 'I've used tickets offered to all 'Council members and shared access with the residence (sic) and distributed to constituents who wouldn't otherwise have access to events. The tickets have been a long-standing practice for Council members. Ticket assess allow me to stay connected with my constituents. If policy changes regarding the distribution of tickets, I will continue to follow policy. 28 tickets were reported and 5 were unused, revised ticket distribution is 23 that were used,' Pittman said. 'It's no secret that my constituents are my top priority. In District 8, a lot of families, kids, teachers, and even first responders don't always get the chance to enjoy events that bring people together. When I request tickets, it's not always for me; it's oftentimes so the people I serve can experience something uplifting and memorable that brings Jacksonville as a whole together, leaving no one out. I believe everyone deserves moments of joy and connection, no matter their circumstances. That's why the number you've received is the number it is. And I wish to continue providing this opportunity to them,' Gaffney Jr. said. 'Blessed to have a large family and over the course of going on 8 years have attended events,' Freeman said. RELATED: City Council requested more than twice as many free city tickets as mayor's office over past 2 years When you factor in requests made by council aides, Freeman remains at the top with 117 tickets over two years, while the ticket reform bill sponsor Councilmember Ron Salem (R-Group 2 At-Large) moves up into second at 97, and Vice President Nick Howland (R-Group 3 At-Large) bumps up to third with 52. Salem and Howland did not comment on the stats. Council President Kevin Carrico (R-District 4) argued many of the requested tickets likely went to constituents. 'This isn't about tit-for-tat at this point on who went to what shows. It's about cleaning it up and making sure that these tickets that are contractually obligated through contracts to come to the city are given to people who deserve to go,' Carrico said. [DOWNLOAD: Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks] And council members aren't alone. In Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan's Office, Chief Administrative Officer Karen Bowling led the pack with 64 tickets requested over the past two years, followed by her Deputy CAO Kelli O'Leary with 53, and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Brittany Norris came in third with 28 tickets. 'This practice began many years ago for economic development efforts and building relationships with community members. That remains true today,' the mayor's office told Action News Jax in a statement. 'It's part of the mayor's job to be an ambassador and represent the city. It's also useful for those who oversee event venue operations to evaluate the citizen experience and make it better.' [SIGN UP: Action News Jax Daily Headlines Newsletter] But without any way to verify who actually received the requested tickets, University of North Florida Political Science Professor Dr. Michael Binder argued it lends itself to questions of potential favoritism or abuse. 'Are you giving them away to lobbyists? You know, who is getting them? What's happening? It's a bad look all around, and you know, maybe this is something good that could come from some middle school back and forth between council and the administration for once,' Binder said. Both the Mayor's Office and Council President Carrico said they're open to introducing more transparency and accountability into the ticket request process and support prohibiting elected officials from personally using the tickets on themselves. Ava Max Addresses Longtime Lady Gaga Comparisons in New Leaked Song Lyrics

The "Sweet But Psycho" singer's new album 'Don't Click Play' is due out on Friday, Aug. 22 NEED TO KNOW Ava Max addresses being compared to Lady Gaga in a leaked snippet from her new album The "Sweet But Psycho" singer name dropped one of the 14-time Grammy winner's earlier tracks, "Poker Face" Don't Click Play is available to stream on Friday, Aug. 22 Ava Max is addressing those Lady Gaga comparisons in her new album. In a snippet leaked online earlier this week of Max's new album's title track "Don't Click Play," Max, 31, appears to reference Gaga, 39, and how she has been compared to the 14-time Grammy winner. "She samples, singing Gaga imitations/Can't kings and queens look good with poker faces?" Max sings in the leaked clip, referring to her song "Kings and Queens" and Gaga's "Poker Face," respectively. "But I'm loving myself even if you hate it." Other tracks on Max's upcoming album include her already-released singles "Lovin Myself," "Lost Your Faith" and "Wet Hot American Summer. "How Can I Dance," "Take My Call," "Skin in the Game," and 'World's Smallest Violin" are also featured on the new record. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Max, whose real name is Amanda Ava Koci, spoke about online commentary in the past. Although it was "kind of mean," she found the Gaga comparisons complementary. "No matter how many haters there are out there, or people who want to bring you down — or people who think I'm a Lady Gaga comparison, which is huuuh-larious," she told NYLON in 2023. "Who doesn't love Gaga?! I can't help that I look like this. I was born the way I was born too! I can't help that I'm 5-foot-2 as well," she continued, also noting that comparisons to other pop stars didn't stop when she changed the color of her hair. "Like what do they want me to do, dye my hair black?! I did that, and then they started comparing me to Dua [Lipa]! You can't win." In May, Max spoke to PEOPLE about how she found inspiration for Don't Click Play — or, rather, where she didn't. "I become a hermit, to be honest, when I'm making music," she explained. "I try not to let too many things influence me because I want it to come from my heart, and I want it to come from the inside of my brain where it's just, 'Who am I at the end of the day?' I don't want to get too influenced." "The thing is, I'm going back to my roots on this album," she continued. "I feel like there's a lot of Kings & Queens feeling songs on the album. It's almost like going back to how I started and my love for pop music, really." The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! How quickly can you solve it? Play now! Max said she let online comments get to her in the past two years, and "changed who I was for other people." "I took away the Max Cut essentially because people in the industry didn't like it," she said. Since the people she had been working with didn't like it, she removed it. "Then, I realized that it was 1% of the population that didn't like it, and I loved it. I was like, 'Wait. The masses love it, and it doesn't make any sense for me to get rid of something when I feel so strongly about it.' " The "Sweet But Psycho" singer also teased what fans can expect on her latest record. "There's definitely going to be remixes," Max said when asked about possible collaborations. "There's going to be some collaborations. Can't say much right now. I can't give you all the surprises." Max previously released Heaven & Hell and Diamonds & Dancefloors in 2020 and 2023, respectively. Don't Click Play will be available to stream on Friday, Aug. 22. Read the original article on People
