Lenovo launches Chromebook Plus 14 with more AI, Dolby Atmos: Check specs
Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 features an OLED display and offers support for Dolby Atmos surround sound. Lenovo is also offering several new on-device AI features

Lenovo in collaboration with Dolby Laboratories and Google has launched Chromebook Plus 14. It is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor and is the first Chromebook to feature Dolby Atmos surround sound and comes with an OLED display. Lenovo claims the new Chromebook Plus 14 is equipped with a wide range of AI capabilities, designed to boost productivity, simplify tasks, and enhance on-screen interactions.
Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14: Details
The Chromebook Plus 14 is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor, which includes what Google claims is the most powerful arm chip ever integrated into a Chromebook. The device offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It also offers up to 17 hours of battery life with a 60Wh battery that supports 65W charging. It features a 5MP webcam with physical shutter for privacy.
Lenovo Chromebook 14 sports a 14-inch OLED panel and comes with Dolby Atmos surround sound support. For connectivity, it offers WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support. The Chromebook also features a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
The Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 also introduces exclusive software features powered by on-device machine learning:
Smart Grouping: Smart Grouping is a tool that uses AI to automatically organise your open tabs and documents into logical groups based on your tasks.
AI image editing in the Gallery app: AI Image Editing in the Gallery app brings creative control. You can remove backgrounds from photos with a single click or instantly turn any image into a custom sticker, without needing third-party software.
Custom wallpapers: Lenovo has also partnered with NASA to design exclusive Jupiter-themed wallpapers. The company said that it showcases the planet's auroras as they appear at different times—day, night, sunset, and sunrise.

Australian regulator clashes with YouTube over first-ever teen social media ban exemption
Australia's internet watchdog and Google-owned YouTube engaged in a spat, after the regulator urged the government to reverse its planned exemption for the video-sharing platform from a world-first ban on social media for teens. Australia aims to be the first country to fine social media companies that fail to block users under the age of 16. Where does the issue between Australia-YouTube stems from The government, led by Anthony Albanese, had previously indicated it would grant YouTube a waiver, citing the platform's utility for educational and health content. Other social media giants, including Meta's Facebook and Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok, have argued that such an exemption would create an unfair playing field. eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant revealed she wrote to the government last week, advocating for no exemptions when the law takes effect. Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold leak says it will have IP68 rating before Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 July 9 launch
We are less than a month away from the launch of Google's Pixel 10 series, but that hasn't stopped the rumour mill from giving us a fair idea of what to expect from the upcoming devices. Yes, devices — as four phones are expected to launch in the series: Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold. In the latest development, details about the Pixel 10 Pro Fold's durability have surfaced. Back in March, an Android Headlines report gave us our first look at how the phone might look. And now, information related to the phone's hinge and durability has to a new report by Android Headlines, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is said to feature a thinner hinge. A thinner hinge, in turn, would allow Google to reduce the bezel size and fit in a larger display compared to the current 6.3-inch panel on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The report suggests that the 10 Pro Fold will come with a 6.4-inch cover screen. For context, this would make it 0.1-inch larger than what we see on the Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro Fold, and even the upcoming Pixel 10 and 10 Pro — both of which are rumoured to feature 6.3-inch it's not just the cover screen that may get a size bump due to the thinner hinge. The overall footprint of the phone is also expected to be slimmer. While the renders of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold show a design strikingly similar to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the actual dimensions could be slightly different, if these leaks are to be believed. For reference, the Pixel 9 Pro is just 5.4mm thick when unfolded and 10.5mm when folded, with a weight of 257 grams. Based on the leaks, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold could be slimmer and lighter than its As for durability, the report also mentions that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold may come with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Now, this might not sound like a big deal, considering most candybar-style phones — whether flagship or mid-range — have had IP68 ratings for a while. But foldables haven't quite reached that level. In fact, the best dust and water resistance rating on any foldable today is on Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, which feature an IP48 rating. The '4' in IP48 means that Samsung's foldables are protected from dust particles larger than IP68 rating, however, would mean protection against dust as well as water immersion in up to 1.5 metres of water for 30 minutes — putting it on par with standard flagship phones like the Galaxy S25 Ultra and iPhone 16 said, while it all sounds promising — that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold may gain an IP68 rating — rumours suggest Samsung may beat Google to the punch, as the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is also expected to feature an IP68 rating.
