Free shuttle service to Holyoke St. Patrick's weekend activities
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – To help visitors get in and out of Holyoke quickly and safely during the St. Patrick's weekend celebrations, the city of Holyoke and the Tourism Advisory Committee partnered with MGM Springfield to offer a free shuttle bus service to and from Holyoke.
Visitors can park for free at the MGM casino parking garage in Springfield and catch a shuttle at MGM Way with drop-off at the Holyoke City Hall.

On March 22 and 23, the buses will run on a loop every thirty minutes from MGM and Holyoke City Hall.
11:00 a.m.: First shuttle leaves MGM Casino for Holyoke City Hall
4:30 p.m. (4:45 p.m. on Sunday): Last shuttle leaves City Hall for MGM Casino
Funding for the shuttle was made possible from the Mass Gaming Mitigation Grant, the OPED team and Tourism Advisory Committee.
'We're excited to offer this service once again,' said Aaron Vega, Director of Planning and Economic Development. 'It's a great partnership with MGM, and of course the amazing Parade Committee, to ensure the weekend is filled with celebration and is safe for all involved.'

After Seeing The 007: First Light Trailer, I Have Even More Faith In The Amazon-MGM Era Of James Bond
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. The 2025 movie schedule has been a pretty rough time to be a 007 fan. With Amazon-MGM's creative control deal putting them in the driver's seat for the road ahead, and those recent Bond copyright issues threatening to derail Bond 26's rumored production/release schedule, no one knows when or how James Bond will return. It's the perfect time for something like the announcement trailer for IO Interactive's 007 First Light to hit, and if the movies are given this much care, I'm even more optimistic about the future. Revealing the first public look at what was once called Project 007, that reel has taken the first steps into this modern stand alone prequel. Per reporting out of PlayStation's official blog, here's what to expect from young James: This is Bond as you've never seen him before — the youngest Bond fans have ever met. In 007 First Light, at only 26 years old, he isn't the fully fledged 007 you know from the tux-and-martini days but a man with sharp instincts, sometimes reckless, who is still learning when to fight, when to bluff, and when to disappear into the shadows. Now unless we've discarded Charlie Higson's Young Bond books, this 007 First Light claim is absolutely true. But putting that nitpick aside, we'll be seeing James Bond grabbing the spotlight after showing his pattern of risky behavior that goes against rules and regulations. What's more, Amazon-MGM Studios has collaborated with IO Interactive on First Light's story. With all respect to the good people at EON Productions, it looks like previous James Bond game restrictions are now officially out the window. Gunplay is definitely on the table here, as are car chases, Roger Moore-style pick-up lines, and a new version of the On Her Majesty's Secret Service theme I need an MP3 of at once. We're going to see young James Bond 'earn the number,' as the game's tagline states. It's a refreshingly modern looking take that's reminiscent of when Casino Royale rebooted the Bond legacy in 2006. Despite sounding like a more modern reinvention that discards the past, there are a lot of classic references throughout 007 First Light. The Alpha build footage shows us a chess game similar to the one in From Russia with Love, Bond wearing a jacket styled like the one in Dr. No, and various outfits and locations that nod to every era of James Bond movies. Mixing those two halves together in the way that First Light has is key to making a good James Bond story - no matter what medium it's in. So if this is the first inkling of what Amazon-MGM's reign will give audience in James Bond 26, consider my ticket already bought. 007 First Light doesn't have a release date, but is scheduled to be released at some point in 2026. Let's just hope this title and Grand Theft Auto VI stay clear out of each other's way, so as not to collapse the internet, massive world economies and countless relationships in their wake.

Miss Huntington Beach queen's rose garden celebrates 60th anniversary
The rose garden at Huntington Beach Civic Center has a new addition. Nicole Allyson Vogt, the 2025 Miss Huntington Beach Queen, chose a 'Mellow Yellow' rose to be planted on Friday morning. 'As Miss Huntington Beach 2025, I've had the honor of representing a city full of vibrant spirit, continuous warmth and community pride,' said Vogt, a recent graduate of Cal State Long Beach, the 112th queen in Huntington Beach history. 'Through this journey, I've learned that kindness is not a gesture, it's a way of life, just has Huntington Beach loves to represent.' Vogt said the yellow rose signified that spirit, as a symbol of joy, friendship and new beginnings. 'It embodies the kind of light I strive to bring into every space I enter,' she said, adding that her mother and grandmother taught her what it meant to shine for others. The 60th anniversary Queen's Rose Garden ceremony was put on by the Sand Dollars of Huntington Beach. The nonprofit Sand Dollars and president Love Ghione organize the Miss Huntington Beach scholarship and pageant program each year; Vogt was crowed queen last October. 'Our mission here is to support young women in their quest to achieve their dreams,' Ghione said, giving a special shout out to Sand Dollars treasurer April Gentry and member Andrea Roberson for nursing the rose bushes back to health. Marlena Guadarrama, the director of Miss Huntington Beach, introduced the queen and court to the audience. Vogt was joined at Friday's ceremony by her court princess, Huntington Beach High graduate Catherine Dosier, who sang the national anthem. Dosier now attends UC Irvine. Other former Miss Huntington Beach Queens at the event included Laura Sholar Roberts (1976), Elaine Bauer Keeley (1979), Stacey Jue (1995), Jena Jean Faris (2017) and Ruby Brown-Bilyeu (2024). Each queen since 1963 has been honored by planting a rose bush in a public location, which became City Hall when the new building was constructed in the 1970s. Mayor Pat Burns, City Council members Don Kennedy and Butch Twining and City Clerk Lisa Lane Barnes also attended. 'I love the tradition,' Burns said. 'Believe it or not, I'm kind of a goofy guy because I love roses. I used to grow them myself when I'd give them to my girlfriends and stuff when I was young. Now I've been married 37 years, so the roses don't come as often, but they still come. 'Now I know a source of them,' he added, as the audience laughed. Former Mayor Lyn Semeta emceed the event, which was followed by a catered reception at City Hall.

New Poster and Photos From Stephen King's THE INSTITUTE Series — GeekTyrant
MGM+ recently released a new poster and a few new images from its series adaptation of Stephen King's The Institute . I loved the bok that this series is based on and I hope this series ends up giving us a strong adaptation. In The Institute , 'When 12-year-old genius Luke Ellis is kidnapped, he awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did, and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. 'In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (Barnes) has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won't last, as his story and Luke's are destined to collide.' Ben Barnes' Tim Jamieson is 'a disillusioned ex-cop who takes a job as the night knocker in a small town, withdrawing from the world until Luke's plight reignites him and gives him something to believe in.' Mary-Louise Parker will play Ms. Sigsby, 'the charming but iron-willed director of the Institute and a true believer in its awful mission. She's certain history will come to see her as a hero.' A trailer for the film was previously shared to press behind closed door. It offers 'a first look at the Institute itself, a cement, brutalist-style building where kids with telekinetic powers are taken after being mysteriously abducted. 'Luke, played by newcomer Joe Freeman, is seen meeting the fellow children in the Institute as well as villain Ms. Sigsby for the first time, who encourages him that he is doing something good for the world as he is hooked up to machines and made to move objects.' Parker says in the trailer: 'You're not kids, not here. There's no bedtime, there's no chores. But here, if you break a rule, there's grown-up consequences.' There are clips flashing of the children being abused and tortured. The Institute is being developed by Jack Bender ( Lost, Mr. Mercedes ), who will produce and direct, and Benjamin Cavell ( Justified, The Stand ) who will write and produce. King previously said in a statement: 'I'm delighted and excited at the prospect of The Institute, with its high-intensity suspense, being filmed as a series. The combination of Jack Bender and Ben Cavell guarantees that the results will be terrific.' Michael Wright, head of MGM+ added: 'We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work again with Stephen King. And The Institute, based on his critically acclaimed novel, is an exciting addition to the MGM+ original series slate. 'There is no creative team I would trust more to bring the book to life than Jack and Ben, whose creative vision and love of Mr. King's voice, will bring this thought-provoking and gut-wrenching story to life, in the engaging, cinematic, and thrilling style MGM+ viewers expect.' Bender said: 'I'm thrilled that Stephen King has entrusted me with another of his brilliant novels and continuing the extraordinary creative relationship with Michael Wright and MGM+. 'Working alongside Ben Cavell and a team of exceptional writers, to tell the story of these uniquely gifted children, will ensure a suspenseful and engrossing series.' Cavell added: 'It is my great honor to have another chance to adapt Stephen King, who has been generous and collaborative beyond my wildest imaginings.
