‘Yellowjackets' star Steven Krueger on his ‘amazing' bond with fiancée Candice King's kids — and their wedding plans
It was love at first bite.
Steven Krueger and Candice King first met in 2013 while filming 'The Vampire Diaries' spinoff 'The Originals,' and now they are engaged.
Not only is Krueger, 35, marrying King, 38, but he's gaining two step-daughters, as the 'Kingshighway' actress is mom to daughters Florence, 9, and Josephine, 4, with ex-husband Joe King.

'It's amazing. They are the sweetest children,' Krueger gushed exclusively to The Post at a fundraiser for the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter's Fund put on by the Television Academy Foundation last Sunday. (The actress filed for divorce from the Fray guitarist in April 2022 after nearly seven years of marriage.)

'I have two nieces, so I've been around young girls before, but they are truly the most wonderful human beings ever, and we have such a great relationship. It's very sweet I get to take them on as well.'
After going Instagram official in 2023, the 'Yellowjackets' star and the 'Supernatural' alum have been inseparable, so popping the question was inevitable.
'I think it's been a long time coming,' Krueger admitted. 'We've been together for a couple of years now, and it's something I've been thinking about for a while. She has kids, so we wanted to make sure they were ready as well.'

The day of the proposal came as a shock to Candice, though.
'I think she knew at some point,' he continued, 'but it was definitely a surprise on the day when it happened.'
Right now, the pair are sinking their teeth into engaged life.
'We are starting to have conversations,' said Krueger about wedding planning. 'I think, for the moment, we are enjoying the engagement; we're not going to rush it. We want to see how work stuff goes over the next year. But we are starting to toss around some ideas about where we want to do it [and] exactly what we want to do. There's a lot of possibilities.'

The actor shared that 'right now, we are really debating if we want a big, traditional, fancy wedding or if we do a smaller thing with family and friends somewhere exotic.'
'I think once we settle on one of those, then we'll have some things to bite into.'
Candice starred as Caroline Forbes in the CW drama and later the spinoff, while Krueger came into the universe as Josh Rosza. The supernatural world also included Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Zach Roerig, Kat Graham, Michael Trevino, Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies.
The TV family will always be bound by blood, so much so that the cast will score invites to the upcoming nuptials.

'I would assume most of them,' Krueger confirmed. 'We are going to our friend Michael Trevino's wedding, who is also on 'Vampire Diaries,' in a few weeks. So there will be a lot of the cast there, and we'll have most of the people at ours.'

'We have a bunch of group chats,' noted Krueger. 'Little ones going and then these fan conventions all the time. It's so fun because a few times a year, we all get together and reminisce about old times and just catch up with each other, and we don't see each other all that much outside of it.'

While all the players in 'The Vampire Diaries' universe have branched out to separate projects, the actor would love to get back on the screen with his real-life fiancée.

'I think that's in the cards,' he teased. 'I think if we could star in some sort of rom-com together, that would be amazing. That's where we're heading.'
'I was this close to being a lawyer and almost went to law school,' he explained, 'and took a sharp left turn and ended up doing this instead. So I've always said at some point, it will come full circle, and I will get to play a lawyer on TV. So I think that's in the future. You can never have too many [legal dramas].'

He might have more free time to take on a prestigious lawyer now that his character, Coach Ben Scott, died in Season 3 of the Showtime thriller 'Yellowjackets.'

Despite playing the soccer team's mentor, Krueger understood why Coach Scott had to go.
'[The showrunners] said, 'Hey, this season is going to be the end for Coach Ben,' which I kind of had an inkling,' he recalled to The Post earlier this month. 'We had discussed it kind of informally at the very beginning of the show. So, I kind of knew Season 3 was about the time range.'

Krueger's co-stars shared that his death was the hardest for them to come to terms with — a sentiment the star appreciated along with being told his impending death was coming.

'I've never been given like the courtesy of being told well, in advance, you know,' expressed Krueger. 'This was, like, four months before we ever started filming. So truly everything was done in such a kind way, and it allowed me to kind of also prepare for exactly what I needed to do for kind of the overall arc of the season.'

Take On Me Singer Morten Harket Said He Has Parkinson's Disease
Morten Harket, who for more than 40 years has been the frontman of the Grammy-nominated Norwegian pop trio a-ha, confirmed this week that he has Parkinson's disease. Harket, 65, made the announcement Wednesday by sharing an article written by music journalist and author Jan Omdahl on a-ha's official website. In it, the singer-songwriter said he'd been experiencing vocal issues as a result of his condition, and admitted he was unsure about a return to the concert stage. 'The problems with my voice are one of many grounds for uncertainty about my creative future,' he said. Though Harket said he had 'no problem accepting the diagnosis,' he added, 'I'm trying the best I can to prevent my entire system from going into decline. It's a difficult balancing act between taking the medication and managing its side effects. There's so much to weigh up when you're emulating the masterful way the body handles every complex movement, or social matters and invitations, or day-to-day life in general.' A native of Kongsberg, Norway, Harket formed a-ha with keyboardist Magne Furuholmen and guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy in 1982. Three years later, the band catapulted to international fame with their breakout smash, ' Take On Me.' The song's success was buoyed by its now-iconic music video, which combined live-action performance footage with pencil-sketch animation. Though a-ha never replicated the success of 'Take On Me' on a global scale, the band continued to release music throughout the '80s and '90s. In 1991, they broke the world record for paid attendance at a rock concert when they performed before more than 198,000 fans at Brazil's Rock in Rio festival. Their 11th studio album, True North, was unveiled in 2022. There is no cure for Parkinson's, a neurodegenerative disease that can cause muscle stiffness, impaired speech and uncontrolled movement. The disease can be revealed by a mere tremor of the hand, according to the Mayo Clinic. Furuholmen reacted to Harket's announcement with a heartfelt post on Instagram. Acknowledging he'd known about his bandmate's diagnosis 'for some time,' he said the news 'brings sadness,' but stressed 'there is also a lot of gratitude: for all the amazing memories, for how our combined creative efforts as a band have been so generously embraced by the world, and for how lucky we are that people continue to find meaning, hope and joy in our shared musical legacy.' In his chat with Omdahl, Harket said he didn't expect to regain 'full technical control' over his vocals, but had nonetheless been working on new songs 'that I've got great belief in, and I feel the lyrics, especially, have something of a different aspect of me in them.' United Archives / United Archives via Getty Images 'I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish them for release,' he continued. 'Time will tell if they make it. I really like the idea of just going for it, as a Parkinson's patient and an artist, with something completely outside the box. It's all up to me, I just have to get this out of the way first.'

Sotheby's to Auction Original Hermès Bag That Belonged to Jane Birkin
Sotheby's will soon auction the original Hermès Birkin bag that once belonged to the late singer Jane Birkin, one of the most coveted designs in the fashion industry. The famed black leather handbag will be put up for sale in Paris on July 10, the auction house said in a statement Thursday. The original Birkin was commissioned in 1984 exclusively for and in collaboration with Jane Birkin by Hermès International SCA's then Chief Executive Officer Jean-Louis Dumas. Birkin recalled in interviews how she bumped into Dumas on a flight and complained about the lack of an Hermès handbag that suited her needs. The British-French singer retold how she sketched a model on a 'vomit bag' and shortly after Dumas presented her with the original Birkin which the brand commercialised under her name. Jane Birkin sold her bag in 1994 to raise funds for an AIDS charity. It was auctioned again in 2000, and has since belonged to the collector who goes by the name 'Catherine B' on Instagram. Her account biography on the platform says she's the 'proud owner of the first Hermès Birkin bag.' A Sotheby's representative confirmed that the collector is the seller. Hermès bags often fetch higher prices at resale than they cost in boutiques due to long waiting lists. The record for a bag sold at auction is held by an Hermès Kelly known as Himalaya, made in crocodile skin and carrying a diamond, which fetched 4 million Hong Kong dollars in 2021 ($510,000) when it was auctioned by Christie's.
