One UI 8.5 quietly confirmed for Galaxy S26 Ultra
This is the first time One UI 8 .5 was mentioned officially, confirming its existence. Earlier, reputable leaker IceUniverse also mentioned the Galaxy S26 Ultra may come with One UI 8 .5. Last week, we heard that Samsung will start introducing major One UI versions with the foldables from the Galaxy Z series, which is sometime in the middle of each year. Now, Galaxy S series phones are going to come with One UI x.5, which includes major new features and improvements.

It's now releasing major new Android versions in the middle of the year. So Samsung is aiming with this change to match Google's software update release timeline with One UI releases.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is said to come with some great upgrades as well, not just some new features in One UI 8 .5. The phone is said to bring improvements to its display, possibly faster charging (although rumors are contradictory on this one), and maybe a new look.
The S26 series is expected to come out in early 2026. They'll face the iPhone 17 series (coming this fall) in the battle of the best flagship phone.
I think that this is an exciting change for Galaxy users. One UI 8 .5 sounds like it could bring some nice improvements, and it's great to see Samsung syncing up with Google's Android updates. That could mean faster, more polished software for everyone.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is going to be Samsung's 2026 flagship phone. And rumors about it have already started showing up online, with some great news for Samsung fans when it comes to charging. Apparently, rumor has it the Galaxy S26 Ultra may finally ditch the 45W charging... and now, yet again, this rumor gets corroborated with a trusted tipster giving us some hints about how much of an upgrade we should expect in the charging department. Right now, the leaks are all indicating the Galaxy S26 Ultra may support 60W charging, around 33% faster charging than what its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, sports (45W). Now, trusted leaker IceUniverse is giving us some figures on the phone's charging times. In a social media post on the Chinese website Weibo, Ice says that the Galaxy S26 Ultra 's 5,000mAh battery can charge up to 75% or even 80% within 30 minutes. A follow-up post of theirs indicates that these are Samsung's official numbers. And according to Ice, the tech giant is being conservative with those. On top of that, the tipster claims that in reality, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may be able to charge all the way up to 90% within just 30 minutes. A very welcome improvement. In our tests, the Galaxy S25 Ultra charged up to 68% in 30 minutes, while phones like the Xiaomi 14T Pro can reach a full charge within 25 minutes or so. You can judge for yourself the difference between 70-ish percent and 80 or even 90% for just half an hour of charging. If true, that would be a great improvement for Ultra fans. At the moment, the 0-100% charging times of the Galaxy S26 Ultra have not leaked. But it's quite possible that these charging times may be around 45 minutes. I personally think that in this day and age, when we have phones that can be fully charged from the bottom up in around 20 minutes, any improvement in this department is totally welcome. And I surely hope these rumors are true.

I'll be honest with you, I'm not what you'd call a hardcore Apple fan, and I've actually never owned an iPad in my life. The Liquid Retina display is absolutely stunning (despite lacking 120Hz refresh rate technology), the battery life is objectively great, the speakers likewise, and the long-term software support... pretty much unrivaled. Apple's only problem is that the latest (and greatest) iPad Air (2024) discount makes the 2025 generation even less relevant and compelling than before, at least for a limited time. Oh, and by the way, you'll have to opt for an unquestionably eye-catching "Starlight" colorway if you want to take advantage of the unprecedented opportunity to save 250 bucks on my (and, hopefully, yours too) favorite iPad model.

Multiple leaks have spilled pretty much everything already. Just like before, Samsung is going with two versions: a 4G model and a 5G model. And now, we are getting another early peek at both. On the camera front, things are mostly unchanged – except for one big upgrade: the main snapper is said to now come with OIS (optical image stabilization), which should help with sharper, steadier shots. Expected rear camera setup: 50 MP main (with OIS) 5 MP ultra-wide 2 MP macro Other key features? A 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging, IP54-rated dust and water resistance, and support for expandable storage via microSD card. Software-wise, the both A17 versions should ship with One UI 7 based on Android 15, and Samsung is promising an impressive 6 years of OS updates and security patches – which is kind of a big deal in the budget space. So yeah, if you are hunting for a super affordable Android phone that won't feel outdated in a year, the Galaxy A17 might be worth the short wait. After all, it is already practically live, at least in Europe. We are just waiting for Samsung to push the launch button so you can finally click, add it to your cart and call it yours.
