
JAF says Jordan, partners conduct new airdrop of humanitarian aid over Gaza
AMMAN (JT) - The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) said it carried out a new airdrop operation on Thursday to deliver urgent food and humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip, as part of ongoing relief efforts for the war-torn enclave.
JAF said in a statement that the airdrop operation involved six military cargo planes: two from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, two from Germany, one from UAE, and one from Belgium. The planes dropped approximately 60 tonnes of aid supplies into the besieged territory.
Thursday's airdrop brings the total number of operations conducted solely by Jordan to 144, in addition to 303 joint airdrops that have been carried out in coordination with international partners, JAF said.
It added that the airdrops conducted so far have delivered a total of 439 tonnes of humanitarian relief into Gaza since the resumption of aerial aid missions.

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Friday conducted a new airdrop operation to deliver food and humanitarian aid to Gaza through seven planes. The airdrop included two Royal Jordanian Air Force planes, and one each from Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, the Netherlands, and France, all carrying 67 tonnes of aid in total. Since the resumption of airdrop operations on 27 July, the JAF has now conducted 146 airdrops, in addition to 308 with international partners, delivering a total of 507 tonnes of aid.

118,635 students pass Tawjihi, at 62.5% of test-takers
AMMAN — The overall pass rate of the 2025 General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) reached 62.5 per cent, the Ministry of Education announced on Thursday. During a press conference, Mohammad Shehadeh, examinations and tests management director, said that a total of 118,635 students passed the national exam, AlMamlaka TV reported. He noted the scientific stream recorded a pass rate of 70.8 per cent. The literary stream had a pass rate of 54.4 per cent. The Sharia (Islamic studies) stream recorded a 68.8 per cent pass rate. Shehadeh added that 76,847 students passed in the academic track, with a success rate of 62.4 per cent, while 10,866 students passed in the vocational track, recording a success rate of 65 per cent. The combined pass rate across both tracks stood at 62.7 per cent.
