Emmerdale's Vinny Dingle 'to report attacker to the police' - but it's not Mike
One character faced being framed by Vinny Dingle in Emmerdale over a brutal attack. In sad scenes, Vinny had his fiancée Gabby Thomas believe someone else other than Mike had hurt him while he continued to lie about a theft from the night before.
But as Vinny prepared to report the assault to the police during the latest episode, he broke down just moments after a confrontation with pal Kammy. It was Kammy that Gabby assumed had attacked Vinny, while she doesn't know just how badly Vinny was harmed having been kept in the dark about what's been going on lately.
It comes as Mike's real identity was exposed as he beat up Vinny during Tuesday's episode, following weeks of Vinny questioning his sexuality ahead of his wedding to Gabby. Mike's real agenda also came to light as he used Vinny's torment against him in a blackmail twist.
As fans know, Vinny has been questioning his sexuality ever since his near-kiss with pal Kammy. He's been left torn over whether he wants to be with Gabby despite his love for her, and he started speaking to Mike online who he thought was experiencing a similar situation to him.
This is what Mike, actually Graham, had Vinny believe and this week we finally found out he was using it to blackmail him for his money. In violent scenes Mike beat Vinny on the ground before demanding £10,000.
With that he fled the scene with Gabby and Vinny's wedding rings, and Vinny covered the whole thing up. Unfortunately for him Kammy sensed something was wrong and kept pushing, but he refused to confide in him.
Instead, Vinny deliberately goaded Kammy into going for him cleary to get him to back off but also possibly to frame him for his bruises. The cruel twist saw Kammy shouted at by Gabby who later threatened him in the pub, refusing to listen to his version of events.
Kammy later visited Vinny to ask what was going on, baffled by his behaviour. But Vinny screamed at him and refused to admit the truth, leading to Kammy telling him he needed to tell someone whatever was bothering him.
In the end Kammy couldn't get through to him and left while Vinny seemed thoughtful, before a conversation with Gabby later on. We saw Vinny search for the number of the local police station on his phone, preparing to click call.
But if Vinny does report the attack, could he be about to frame Kammy for the crime to cover up everything? Or might Vinny find the courage to tell the police and Gabby what went on with Mike.

'We watched our girl take last breath on CCTV after terrifying phone call'
The parents of a girl who drowned in a swimming pool have emotionally recalled watching her last breath on CCTV footage more than two years on from her tragic death that took place at a birthday party The parents of a girl who drowned in a swimming pool have emotionally recalled watching her last breath on CCTV footage. Kyra Hill was just 11 when she swam into a wrongly marked area during a birthday party at Liquid Leisure near Windsor, Berkshire in 2022 and a frantic search around the area ensued, only to find that the little one had gone under. Her parents, Heather Parker and Leonard Hill, made an appearance on Thursday's edition of Good Morning Britain to remind the nation of their story, and her father insisted that there was some initial 'hope' that she had been abducted, only because that would mean she was still alive. While the footage that emerged after the fact confirmed the girl's terrible fate to the parents, they it was then that they were able to see the bubbles that turned out to be the tragic last breaths of their daughter. He told hosts Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins: "It gave us the story, the first part is that watching it over and over again from the beginning, you see the area where Kyra had sunk was not searched until the very end and so all other areas were searched a[part from the place she was seen going under, which was deep water. Nearly 15 ft, but it was marked shallow water." It comes after reports of a dad's desperate phone call moments before explosion kills him and his daughters. "You would hope there was more chance of her being abducted than there was more chance of survival than the period of time that she was under that water. Watching the CCTV, it's hard to believe that there was confusion as to where she was, her position was pinpointed at the time and I've watched the CCTV and I've seen her last breath. I can see a lifeguard standing and I can see her last breath, bubbles. She's come out, alerted someone on the radio, how is it her location hasn't been located?" Kyra would've turned 15 on 18th August and her mother also made a bold statement as she recalled the horror moment that something had gone wrong at the party, and she simply couldn't believe that the little one would 'go missing' when she was simply in the water. She said: "I think that when I got the call it was 'Kyra's missing...' and obviously I was like 'Where is she missing?' And it was the water, but you can't go missing in the water. You drown, you don't go missing!" She later remembered how Kyra was a keen footballer, but had a backup plan to become a lawyer. Richard Madeley pointed out to viewers that they had contacted the water park for comment, but claimed that they had not responded. Viewers of ITV's morning show were left 'heartbroken' upon rediscovering the tragic story, and one wrote on X: "I can't understand how a LIFEGUARD trained underwater or not, would not attempt to save a drowning child? If this is the case, heads should roll. Those poor parents, whilst another admitted they couldn't "imagine anything worse" than what those parents had seen. A 17-year-old lifeguard spotted her going under and searched that part of the water before leaving to alert staff but 37 minutes passed between Kyra struggling and 999 being called, Berkshire Coroner's Court heard. Kyra was seen going under the water at 3.20pm and emergency services were called to the scene at 3.57pm. The 11-year-old was found just after 5.10pm and she was rushed to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, where she was pronounced dead. The inquest heard what happened at the water park in those minutes and hours after Kyra vanished. The Coroner's Court was told the 15 metre by 19 metre beach area was not cleared of people until emergency crews arrived. It was later determined that the girl was 'unlawfully killed' during the incident. Watersport manager David Novell ordered searches on land and in other parts of the lake, but not in the designated swimming zone where she disappeared, the hearing was told. Conflicting and incorrect information started to circulate at the water park, including that Kyra left the water or swam to various locations. Novell told the inquest the first-responding lifeguard, named Abbi, appeared "confused" and was "unsure as to what exactly had occurred", given the contradicting reports that Kyra had exited the water. However, Abbi, then a schoolgirl, dived three times in the area where Kyra disappeared and CCTV showed her pointing there during a conversation with Novell and Liquid Leisure owner and director Stuart Marston. A mother looking for Kyra said loud music was playing and that she shouted at a senior member of staff to turn it off. Kelly Edwards, who was at the birthday party, said she had to tell staff to ask members of the public to leave the area. Edwards said the lifeguard, who appeared a "little girl", also told her daughter to keep searching for Kyra in the water. The mother said: "She (Kyra) was seen in the water, and for myself and for us we were told she was missing, so we were looking on the land, and to know someone had seen her and said 'I've seen someone gone down in the water', and for her not to be listened to. I couldn't, can't get my head around it." She added: "It just felt like I was in this nightmare, the sort of thing you watch on the TV and you, you think, well, that would never happen." The administration services manager recalled "shouting, screaming Kyra's name" as she walked around the park. She became emotional as she told the inquest: "It just seemed that nothing was taken seriously, nothing was deemed as an emergency, and I feel so angry with myself every day that I came out (of the water) and no-one went to the children and asked them where Kyra was."

Phillip Schofield's boozy date with younger man could be 'final straw' for wife Stephanie
Former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield has been supported by his wife Stephanie Lowe since coming out as gay and following his affair which resulted in him being sacked from ITV Earlier this week, former This Morning host Phillip Schofield was spotted with his arm around a male companion whilst leaving a bar. The presenter, 63, was seen leaning on the shoulder of his pal, revealed to be nurse Joshua Luke Sharman, after the pair enjoyed drinks together in central London. Phillip resigned from ITV back in 2023 after admitting an 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a This Morning colleague. The ex presenter was seen leaving London's first LGBTQ + dedicated cinema Arzner Bar & Cafe in Bermondsey at 7pm on Saturday. It comes after MasterChef's Gregg Wallace 'ruins' his chance of redemption after 'slipping at first hurdle '. Nurse Joshua was similarly dressed for the warmer weather, in a short-sleeved black shirt, a pair of beige shorts and dark footwear. The pair were seen with their arms around each other as they looked to stumble on their way out. Phillip had his arm around Joshua's waist, as his companion wrapped an arm around the TV star's shoulder. Phillip, who came out as gay in February 2020, has retreated from the spotlight since resigning from ITV in 2023. He apologised at the time for having previously lied about his relations with a member of the This Morning team while married. In his statement announcing his resignation, former Dancing on Ice host Phillip also stated that the "consensual on-off relationship" was "now over". Ever since, Phillip has kept a very low profile, despite making a brief comeback on Channel 5's Cast Away last year. The three-part series saw him speak about his life whilst left on a remote island for ten days, as well as featuring his family in scenes filmed at home. The presenter, who announced five years ago that he was gay, has two children with Stephanie Lowe, 60, whom he is still married to after the pair tied the knot in 1993. The former couple are parents to daughters Molly Schofield, 32, and Ruby Schofield, 29, together. However, from the pictures of his latest boozy outing, it appears that Phillip is now very much single and enjoying his bachelor lifestyle. Now, experts are predicting that Phillip and Stephanie may get divorced in the near future. But could this be the final straw for Stephanie? When the news of Phillip's sexuality broke, Stephanie insisted that she still loved her husband as she vowed to stand by him. At the time, she told The Sun: "I love Phillip, as much today as I ever have, and always will. "We've been awestruck by the strength and love of our precious girls, even as they've been trying to make sense of it all for themselves. Our family have also been so supportive and will help us going forward. "Although this is difficult for us all, I support Phillip in taking this brave step. I will still be there, holding his hand. Everyone should be proud to live their own truth." At the time, a source told Mail Online that Stephanie and Phillip were going to stay married and stick things through for the sake of their daughters. "After so long together, Steph and Phil are co-dependent. They would rather be a united front and stay together," they said, adding that if they broke up it would "create even more drama" for them and their daughters. Another friend said at the time: "They still love each other. It's that simple". Stephanie and her daughter's Molly and Ruby also stuck by Phillip when he was sacked from This Morning after his affair with a much younger member of male staff came to light. Following the fallout, Phillip's eldest daughter Molly said that the scandal and the trauma that came along with it somehow made their family bond stronger. She said: "We've seen him at his lowest times, but I've been so proud of him, and as a daughter to see the love that people had for him that when it's taken away it's just heartbreaking." However, reports are now suggesting that Phillip's bachelor lifestyle and boozy dates could be the final straw in his co-dependency with Stephanie as 'divorce' could well be on the cards.

Grantchester fans 'speechless' as they spot huge clue James Norton will return
James Norton has been spotted on the set of Grantchester, sparking speculation he is set to reprise his role as Sidney Chambers for the show's final series Grantchester fans may have said goodbye to Sidney Chambers six years ago, but there's a chance that star James Norton could return to the ITV drama for its final series. Fans have gone wild on social media after spotting a huge clue that the 40-year-old will reprise his iconic role as the detective drama comes to an end. The TV star was spotted on the crime drama's set last week, with filming taking place in Cambridge. In photos obtained by the Daily Star, James was seen having a chinwag with show favourite Rishi Nair, who portrays Reverend Alpheus "Alphy" Kotteram. James' presence on set has ignited rumours that he is reprising his role as vicar Sidney Chambers for the programme's final series. It's been six years since he left to concentrate on other ventures and fans have been eagerly awaiting his return. It comes after Grantchester axed after 11 years as ITV drama films emotional final series. The Hollywood actor was donning a pink baseball cap and a green shirt as he reunited with his former co-stars. He also embraced Al Weaver, who has portrayed Leonard Finch in the series. A telly insider told the publication: "It looks like James will be involved in the last series of Grantchester. If he's reprising his role, it will go down a storm with fans." "James is now one of the biggest stars on TV so having him back on the show would be a big draw for viewers. Ratings would go through the roof." Fans quickly took to social media to celebrate James' appearance on set, with one writing: "James in grantchester im speechless." Another said: "James norton stuns as sidney chambers is resurrected and returns to grantchester." A third was hoping that he would appear alongside current star Rishi Naur on screen, writing: "HOT PRIESTS (PLURAL)." Another replied: "Both of them on screen together pls." Grantchester is wrapping up with its 11th series despite being a ratings hit for ITV. Fans were gutted when the news was announced last month. Actor Robson Green, who has portrayed DI Geordie Keating since the programme launched in 2014, offered a touching farewell to his fellow cast members. He revealed: "I have had the incredible fortune to be part of this extraordinary team of talented, passionate, and dedicated individuals who have become more than colleagues. They have become family. "I have made friendships forged through shared laughter, challenges, and triumphs. The bonds we've formed extend far beyond the camera lens, and I know that they will endure long after the final scene within the Grantchester world has been filmed." Green expressed that it had "been an honour to share in the magic of Grantchester" and that he remained "forever grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the love". He added: "Emma Kingsman Lloyd [executive producer] and Daisy Coulam [writer and series creator], from that very first day you gave me the extraordinary opportunity to be part of this experience." Nair commented: "It's been the greatest honour to step into the world of Grantchester and be part of a show with so much heart." Robson will return for the concluding series alongside fellow performers including Tessa Peake-Jones and Kacey Ainsworth. ITV's director of drama Polly Hill and drama commissioner Callum Dziedzic stated: "It's rare to create a series with such enduring warmth, wit, and heart, as Daisy, Emma, and the brilliant team have done with Grantchester. "This final series marks the end of a golden chapter for ITV drama, and we know audiences will treasure this last summer in Grantchester as much as we will."
