Grantchester fans 'speechless' as they spot huge clue James Norton will return
Grantchester fans may have said goodbye to Sidney Chambers six years ago, but there's a chance that star James Norton could return to the ITV drama for its final series. Fans have gone wild on social media after spotting a huge clue that the 40-year-old will reprise his iconic role as the detective drama comes to an end.
The TV star was spotted on the crime drama's set last week, with filming taking place in Cambridge. In photos obtained by the Daily Star, James was seen having a chinwag with show favourite Rishi Nair, who portrays Reverend Alpheus "Alphy" Kotteram.
James' presence on set has ignited rumours that he is reprising his role as vicar Sidney Chambers for the programme's final series. It's been six years since he left to concentrate on other ventures and fans have been eagerly awaiting his return. It comes after Grantchester axed after 11 years as ITV drama films emotional final series.
The Hollywood actor was donning a pink baseball cap and a green shirt as he reunited with his former co-stars. He also embraced Al Weaver, who has portrayed Leonard Finch in the series.
A telly insider told the publication: "It looks like James will be involved in the last series of Grantchester. If he's reprising his role, it will go down a storm with fans."
"James is now one of the biggest stars on TV so having him back on the show would be a big draw for viewers. Ratings would go through the roof."
Fans quickly took to social media to celebrate James' appearance on set, with one writing: "James in grantchester im speechless." Another said: "James norton stuns as sidney chambers is resurrected and returns to grantchester."
A third was hoping that he would appear alongside current star Rishi Naur on screen, writing: "HOT PRIESTS (PLURAL)." Another replied: "Both of them on screen together pls."
Grantchester is wrapping up with its 11th series despite being a ratings hit for ITV. Fans were gutted when the news was announced last month.
Actor Robson Green, who has portrayed DI Geordie Keating since the programme launched in 2014, offered a touching farewell to his fellow cast members.
He revealed: "I have had the incredible fortune to be part of this extraordinary team of talented, passionate, and dedicated individuals who have become more than colleagues. They have become family.
"I have made friendships forged through shared laughter, challenges, and triumphs. The bonds we've formed extend far beyond the camera lens, and I know that they will endure long after the final scene within the Grantchester world has been filmed."
Green expressed that it had "been an honour to share in the magic of Grantchester" and that he remained "forever grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the love".
He added: "Emma Kingsman Lloyd [executive producer] and Daisy Coulam [writer and series creator], from that very first day you gave me the extraordinary opportunity to be part of this experience."
Nair commented: "It's been the greatest honour to step into the world of Grantchester and be part of a show with so much heart." Robson will return for the concluding series alongside fellow performers including Tessa Peake-Jones and Kacey Ainsworth.
ITV's director of drama Polly Hill and drama commissioner Callum Dziedzic stated: "It's rare to create a series with such enduring warmth, wit, and heart, as Daisy, Emma, and the brilliant team have done with Grantchester.
"This final series marks the end of a golden chapter for ITV drama, and we know audiences will treasure this last summer in Grantchester as much as we will."

Ricky Wilson misses out on huge jackpot as he struggles through Celebrity Catchphrase – would you have done better?
RICKY Wilson missed out on a huge jackpot on Celebrity Catchphrase. The Kaiser Chiefs frontman struggled through the finale of the hit ITV game show. 7 7 7 Catchphrase usually sees contestants from the public try to identify famous phrases by guessing visual riddles that are posed to them. Ricky, 47, made it to the Super Catchphrase final round for a chance to win the £50,000 jackpot and a bonus prize. He breezed relatively quickly through the first two layers of the pyramid on the celebrity version of the show. The first riddles represented the phrases 'dog biscuit' and 'brain fog' which Ricky correctly guessed with 44 seconds to spare. However, when he moved to the third layer he was left completely stumped by box number 11 - which also contained the bonus prize. The first visual clue saw four medieval knights in full armour sitting around two differently shaped tables. Initially he passed to choose another box before going back for a second guess. When he still couldn't guess the answer after more deliberation, he chose box number 10. Once again he was left stumped when the miniature cartoon was circling round the bush whilst playing with a handheld drum. Ricky unfortunately ran out of time, meaning he had only won £5,000 of the available prize. Looking fuming with himself he stated: "Sorry about that," as Stephen Mulhern tried to console him. The host explained: "Listen, you don't need to apologise about anything. "The reality is, it just shows and I say it a lot of times. But this is the proof. One of our best players we've ever had and the Super Catchphrase just gets ya." Ricky then practically threw himself onto the ground in frustration when he realised to himself what the second phrase was. Stephen Mulhern's career so far The presenter is a mainstay on various ITV shows, but how did he become one of Britain's most well-known faces? Stephen first gained an interest in magic and tricks from his father who taught him as a kid. After performing at Butlins, he became the youngest member of the Magic Circle and even made an appearance on Blue Peter in a piece about Harry Houdini. His career started in Children's TV when he presenter the show Finger Tips in 2001. After four years, he launched Tricky TV on CITV in 2005, which he presented until 2010. During this time, he was handpicked by bosses to front the ITV2 spin-off for Britain's Got Talent. He presented Britain's Got More Talent until the cancelation of the companion in 2019. But it's not all bad news for Stephen who is known for his duties on a number of quiz shows. In for a Penny, a format originally launched on Ant & Dec 's Saturday Night Takeaway was launched the same year. Before, he was chosen by bosses to host Catchphrase in 2013 and has been fronting the show ever since. Other huge shows he presented for ITV included Big Star's Little Star, Rolling In It and the reboot of Deal Or No Deal. He also made regular appearances on This Morning in 'The Hub' segment between 2011 and 2014. After the Philip Schofield scandal rocked ITV, he was chosen to reunite with his former CITV co-star Holly Willoughby as the host of Dancing on Ice. He declared: "Beating about the bush," as he threw his hands on his knees. Stephen continued: "I'll tell you what. You're gonna kick yourself when you realise the other one as well!" Ricky laughed at his original guess of 'drumming round the hedge' as he thought too literally. Stephen then pointed out that the second table was circle-shaped as the first phrase was actually 'Knights of the round table'. The musician furiously remarked: "I didn't even see the round table!" 7 7 7

The former couple were married with two children, Princess and Junior, before their bitter split in 2009. And now, after the shocking revelation of Peter having had Princess and Junior in his care since 2018 now coming to light, the young reality starlet is shaking off the drama. Taking to her Instagram stories amid the public feud between her mum and dad, Princess seemed unfazed as she shared what she was watching with her fans. Princess shared a photo of her television, with what appeared to be the hit Netflix series Ginny and Georgia. Alongside the snap, she penned: "I'm so so so obsessed with this show rn." Princess' post came just mere hours after her dad Peter revealed that she and her brother Junior were placed in his care seven years ago "for their safety". Taking to Instagram, Peter spoke out just hours after Katie said she had made contact with him after their fallout over daughter Princess. In the statement shared on his social media page, Peter penned: "For sixteen years I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones. "But staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today." Princess Andre takes TWO subtle swipes at mum Katie Price as she reveals what she will NEVER do to follow in her footsteps He continued: "The latest comments about my children's welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight. "For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. "In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. "I have never made this public before out of respect for my children." Pete went on: "In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases found my ex wife had made false claims. "She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management. "The same falsehoods are being repeated today." He concluded: "Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations that I have yet to address. Those will be dealt with in the coming months." Pete spoke out after the former glamour model insisted that she's a "bloody good mum" to her five children and wants to sit down with Pete to discuss their issues once and for all. Katie said on her recent podcast: "There's no reason why both parents just can't be there to support her. Now this isn't about me. I have to clarify this. "I don't care that I'm not in Princess's show. "I don't need to raise my profile by being on Princess's show, I do enough stuff. "All what I want to do, is just whatever my daughter does, and it's the same with Junior, I don't care if I'm in the background, but I want to watch her do her photo shoots, I wanna watch her do her signings, because that's what I did. "And my mum and you and Nan used to come along and support, and I'm proud of her. "And I just wanna be there with her because I now I feel that I've missed out on so much." She concluded: "Life would be more at peace because I don't have a problem. "For the sake of the children, there's room for everyone to support your kids. "Do you know what I mean? I'm not saying I have to stand with them and play happy families."

Katie Price says she 'will no longer be gaslit' as she responds to ex-husband Peter Andre's bombshell statement about her baseless lies'
Katie Price has spoken out about being 'gaslit' after her ex-husband Peter Andre issued a lengthy statement about her. The singer, 52, spoke out about Katie's 'baseless lies' just hours after she urged him to take part in peace talks as their daughter Princess has been 'unfairly' dragged into their feud. Rumours of a 'rift' between Katie and Princess have been growing in recent weeks after Katie didn't attend Princess' 18th birthday party, or appear on the nepo baby 's fly-on-the-wall ITV television series. Katie, who shares Princess, 18, and son Junior, 20, with ex-husband Peter, later claimed that it was her daughter's management who had told her not to appear on the show. On Thursday, Peter accused Katie of making 'repeated lies' and said that he wanted to 'set the record straight' after 16 years of staying silent. Katie's team have since reacted to his comments, with a spokesperson telling Daily Mail: 'Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation. 'This was in the past and she doesn't feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she's dealing with this the right way and it's now in her lawyers hands. Kate will no longer be gaslighted and bullied as she once was...' In Peter's lengthy Instagram statement, he shared his side of the story, explaining: 'For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today. 'The latest comments about my children's welfare and living arrangeemnts compel me to se the record straight. For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. 'In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before, out of respect for my children.' He continued: 'In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases found my ex-wife had made false claims. She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise to me and my management. The same falsehoods are being repeated today. 'Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months.' It comes after Katie called on Peter to sit down with her and 'squash their beef' for the sake of their family. Speaking on the latest on the latest episode of her Katie Price Show podcast, Katie - who is currently recovering from more facial surgery - shared: 'There's no reason why both parents just can't be there to support her.' In a lengthy Instagram statement, Peter has now shared his side of the story, explaining: 'For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today' She continued: 'Now this isn't about me. I have to clarify this. I don't care that I'm not in Princess's show. 'I don't need to raise my profile by being on Princess's show, I do enough stuff. 'All what I want to do, is just whatever my daughter does, and it's the same with Junior, I don't care if I'm in the background, but I want to watch her do her photo shoots, I wanna watch her do her signings, because that's what I did. 'And my mom and you and Nan used to come along and support, and I'm proud of her. And I just wanna be there with her because I now I feel that I've missed out on so much.' Katie went on: 'It's so not fair to bring Princess piggy in the middle. 'So I think it's about time all of us adults just sit down and talk about what their beef is with me and just get over it. 'Life would be more at peace because I don't have a problem. I just think life would be a better place. 'Well, I'm not saying we all have to be best buddies, best friends, but come on. For the sake of the children, there's room for everyone to support your kids. Do you know what I mean? 'I'm not saying I have to stand with them and play happy families.' Elsewhere in the chat, Katie's sister Sophie urged her niece to push for Katie's inclusion on the show. Sophie mused: 'Ultimately I do think it's down to Princess to put her foot down a bit'. But Katie shot back and said Princess will be 'scared' to speak up to her management about what she really wants. She said: 'But, she'll be scared Soph. What you got to remember is when I started my career, I didn't have people like the management and all that around me. I used to get the train, go on castings, I put the graft in.' For a time, Katie and Pete were the golden couple of reality TV, with a lavish wedding and a string of big-money deals making them one of the most talked-about pairs in Britain. But things turned sour between the pair when their marriage came to an end in 2009 after four years together, with Katie claiming it was Peter's decision to walk away from the relationship. Much of the nation has witnessed the fall-out of the end Katie and Peter's marriage, and the string of public swipes that have been thrown from both sides. Princess opened up about the impact of her parents' tumultuous divorce in her new ITV2 reality series The Princess Diaries, sharing she felt she couldn't 'go to her dad' after he split from Katie due to their dislike of one another. She revealed on the show how she has a counsellor and previously 'couldn't just go to my dad' due to her parents 'not liking each other'. As Princess' show has aired, Katie has been recovering from yet more facial surgery. During her time at a Turkish clinic, Katie underwent a lip lift correction, brow lift, and eye lift, and was seen bloodied and bandaged as she stepped out this week while recovering from the procedures. Katie is no stranger to going under the knife, having had at least 16 boob jobs, three rhinoplasties and six facelifts. In recent weeks, Katie had been speaking out after being banned from taking part in Princess' TV show, which is made by Can Associates, with the former glamour model making not-so-subtle digs. Princess' television show will focus on her home life with her father Peter, his wife Emily and big brother Junior, as well as her career as an influencer, and is being made by Pete's management company, Can Associates. The firm memorably looked after Katie when she was with Pete from 2003 until 2009, the year they sensationally split. But recently, Katie blasted 'people who used to look after me', believed to be referring to Peter Andre 's management company, on a recent episode of her Katie Price Show podcast. She went on a rant about the awkward snub from Princess' 18th birthday party with her sister Sophie as she cryptically blamed 'certain people'. Katie said: 'Princess is now officially an adult so mummy and Princess can now go out together. If certain people would let her be seen with me.' Sophie said: 'I noticed in her 18th birthday pictures she was wearing the shoes you bought her for Christmas ,' with Katie replying: 'Oh did she? I love that.' Katie added: 'Everyone knows she's doing this documentary - and I'm not in it. Certain people don't think it's good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me.' Her sister said: 'You aren't on brand Katie. You are too risky Katie that's why. While Katie added: 'It's pathetic. I'm her mother. It's so sad. When certain people who used to look after me are now looking after...' Her sister Sophie then urged Katie to 'save it for another day'. Katie was allegedly referring to her old PR team, who still manage her ex-husband Peter and their children Junior and Princess. Daily Mail contacted The Can Group for comment at the time. During their time together, CAN arranged for Katie and Peter to make a big money reality show with ITV called Katie And Peter and helped make them millions. But Katie has since fallen out with CAN, putting an end to any chances of her appearing on Princess's programme. Katie previously filed legal documents against Peter, their former representatives and former manager Claire. She claimed at the time they were responsible for a smear campaign against her. Katie blamed Claire for the breakdown of her marriage in 2009, claiming Peter was 'married to two women' and had an affair with Claire during their relationship. She had to publicly apologise to both Peter and Claire after she was taken to court and lost the case. The Real Husbands of Katie Price In the decades since she first rose to fame, Katie Price has enjoyed – and quite likely endured – a decidedly busy love life that has seen her walk down the aisle three times before heading to divorce court in equal measure. Here's a look at the trio with whom she exchanged 'I dos'... and 'I don'ts': PETER ANDRE (2005 - 2009) The nation got to watch love blossom between the pair when they starred alongside one another on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here back in 2004. The flying sparks soon became nuptials, with blushing bride Katie and her erstwhile pop hunk beau tying the knot at Highclere Castle (the grand Berkshire estate of Downton Abbey fame) in September 2005. Katie, who was already mother to son Harvey (born in 2002 following a romance with former footballer Dwight Yorke), soon started a family with her new husband. The couple welcomed son Junior in 2005, while daughter Princess followed in 2007. Creation between the pair also came artistically, with the release of reality programmes, a failed talk show and a foray into the music world. However, after four years of securing their position as the Ken and Barbie of reality TV and glossy magazine deals, the pair announced in 2009 that they were going their separate ways. ALEX REID (2010 - 2012) Katie soon switched her romantic allegiance from a onetime ab-bearing pop heartthrob to musclebound MMA fighter Alex Reid. The two met at Michelle Heaton's 30th birthday party at London's Cafe de Paris. But shortly after they got together, Katie dumped Alex on live TV, only for him to win her back and the pair go from strength to strength. Weeks after proudly cheering her man on to a win on the 2010 edition of Celebrity Big Brother (also featuring none other than her ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers), Katie jetted off to Las Vegas to tie the knot with her new partner in February 2010 after just seven months of dating – and nine months after divorcing Peter. Following their Sin City sojourn, the pair returned to their native UK, where they had a formal ceremony – which was filmed for a TV series. However, after just 11 months of marriage, the pair announced they were splitting and their divorce was finalised in March 2012. While Katie declared at the time that she married Alex 'too soon', she would later go on to reveal that a major factor in their split was his cross-dressing alter-ego Roxanne. KIERAN HAYLER (2013 - 2021) Showing herself to be a true woman of the times, Katie embarked on a romance with former stripper Kieran after the two met on the now-defunct Blackberry Messenger service in 2012. And just two months after altering the paths of their lives via those thumb-tapped fateful opening messages, the twosome would go on to exchange nuptials in the Caribbean. Kieran proposed to a thrilled Katie on Christmas Day 2012, and just three weeks later, the pair would be pronounced husband and wife in the idyllic shores of the Bahamas on January 16, 2013. They had their marriage blessed in Weston-super Mare, and in the months that followed, it appeared that Katie had finally found her happily ever after. They welcomed son Jett in August 2013, and daughter Bunny in August 2014. But Katie's world came crashing down in 2014, when she discovered that Kieran had cheated on her with her close friend of 20 years, Jane Pountney, and was enjoying a fling with another of her pals, Chrissy Thomas. After publicly lashing out at all parties involved (and naming her pet pigs after her friends-turned-foes), Katie appeared determined to make things work when she renewed her vows with Kieran in 2015. But alas, it would not turn out to be third time lucky for Katie, as the pair split in 2018 amid even more cheating allegations. Their 'amicable' divorce was finalised in early 2021.
