Forget Logo Tees - Rihanna's Made This Statement Top The Ultimate Fashion Flex

Once upon a time, a logo T-shirt was the fashion girl's go-to move. Clean, minimal, and straight to the point, brands like Balenciaga, Vetements and Gucci have been responsible for some of the most popular logo tees of the past decade. In 2025, though, it's not just about who you're wearing, it's about what you're 'supporting' (or should that be 'sporting'?) Suddenly, the humble sports jersey is stealing the spotlight.
Think football tops styled with cargos, F1 racing shirts layered over maxi skirts, and basketball jerseys paired with kitten heels. What used to be reserved for match day or your boyfriend's closet is now front-row fashion. Blame it on Rihanna, who has – almost singlehandedly – turned a sports jersey into a street style staple. There's also Dua Lipa, who' wears 's been wearing vintage football shirts as regularly as Bella Hadid wears archival Galliano. Either way, the jersey's rebrand is here – and it's winning.
It makes sense. Fashion has been flirting with sportswear for years. The rise of athleisure blurred the line between gym gear and everyday style, with leggings and sneakers becoming wardrobe staples. I mean, the Alo Yoga Set is so popular right now that its threatening to replace jeans and nice top. Post pandemic, the jersey is naturally just the next evolution. It taps into that same 'effortless but intentional' vibe - oversized, comfortable, but packed with personality.
The key to pulling it off? It's all in the styling. Don't go full kit. This isn't about looking like you're off to five-a-side, treat it like a statement T-shirt. Tuck a vintage football jersey into a tailored mini; throw a bomber over a Formula 1 tee with wide-leg trousers; add chunky jewellery, a sleek bag, and maybe a heel to balance the sporty energy. You don't need to drop hundreds on a designer piece, you can thrift one, borrow one, or get one on the high street just in time for the women's Euros. 1.

Fashion Is Devouring Itself: Gucci's 2015 Best-Selling Shoes Are Already Back On My Wish List

Never in a million years did I think I'd be longing - actually pining - to climb back onto a bandwagon I once watched barrel past, but here we are: I want the Gucci Princetown mules again. Yes, those ridiculous, sublime, backless loaferswith a furry trim. The ones that, for a few delirious years between 2015 and 2019, shod the feet of anyone with even half a claim to knowing what fashion was. At the time, there wasn't a shoe I could have wanted more, but unlike my peers - who snapped them up like they were boarding passes to Alessandro Michele's new Gucci - I hesitated. Now, absurdly, I'm circling back. They're on my mood board. My wish list. Lodged at the front of my mind. Let's pause and remember their genesis. The Princetown slipper made its debut in Michele's first Gucci collectionfor Autumn/Winter '15 - a men's show that, in retrospect, detonated a cultural bomb. It wasn't just a shoe, but a manifesto. The loafer, made louche, decadent and kind of foolish courtesy of the furry lining, was precisely the provocation Michele excelled at. Vogue dubbed it the shoe of the season, and in no time it was everywhere: sidewalks, front rows, fake market stalls and Instagram grids. It became shorthand for Michele's Gucci, and, then, inevitably, came the backlash. After years of fabulous embroidery, clashing prints, it bags, feverish '70s dreams, logo belts, Harry Styles (actually, we could never get enough of that) and Gucci collaborations, fashion fatigue set in, caused by suffocating ubiquity. The slippers slunk off into storage - but that's just the nature of fashion. From L-R: Alexa Chung; ASAP Rocky ©Getty But in 2025, I feel the itch again. Why? Perhaps because furry footwear is no longer a gimmick. Phoebe Philo toyed with it at Céline. Michele himself went further and dreamt up full Yeti hooves. Molly Goddard conjured super-hairy Uggs, and Birkenstock 1774's shearling Bostons became pandemic-era uniforms. What once read as absurd now reads as foundational. Returning to the Princetown feels like going back to the urtext. And crucially, their silhouette aligns uncannily with now: the ultra-flat almond toe, sitting discreetly beneath the sweep of today's wide-legged, tailored trousers. In 2015, they fought with culottes and skinny jeans, in 2025, they dissolve into the trouser leg with an elegance almost monastic. Wear with a black wool shirt and black tailored slacks, Gucci Princetowns peeking out like a sly punchline. Perfect. Gucci Autumn/Winter '15 ©Getty And I'm not alone. Maybe it's impending excitement for Demna's new vision for Gucci, but they've cropped up in conversations with friends, not just editors, which means the hum of resurgence is getting louder. You can still find them on Gucci's website if you'd rather not trawl resale platforms for worn-out soles. Ditto for the non-furry version, they're equally as delicious. From L-R: Hailey Bieber; Gigi Hadid But what really unsettles me is this: the time-lag of the trend cycle has collapsed so violently, we're now mining the mid-to-late 2010s. Not the '90s, but 2017. Fashion, always self-devouring, now seems positively cannibalistic, and soon we'll be heralding the triumphant return of looks we only abandoned last year. Still, the Princetowns make sense. They were a best-seller for a reason. Fickle as fashion may be, it's also forgiving, and when the timing is right, even the most derided tropes can regain their sheen. And so, this fashion month, I'll slip back into the furry stomper. Because sometimes the joke ages better than the punchline. 1. Gucci, Princetown Slipper Shearling-Lined 2. Dua Lipa details 'intensely falling' for fiancé Callum Turner as she lifts the lid on their romance in rare move while posing for chic Harper's Bazaar shoot

Dua Lipa has opened up about her relationship with her fiancé Callum Turner as she detailed 'intensely falling' for the actor in a candid new interview. The singer, 29, who also posed for a stunning shoot alongside the chat, admitted she is prepared to be 'vulnerable' and allow love even if it means she gets hurt. Speaking to Harper's Bazaar U.S. for its Global Icons issue, Dua said that although opening her heart is scary she feels 'lucky' she gets to feel it. The couple began dating in early January last year, before making their romance official months later in June. They confirmed their engagement a year later. Discussing their relationship, Dua said: 'I love love. It is a beautiful thing. It's a really inspiring thing. You find yourself so intensely falling all the time in the best way possible. That vulnerability is so scary, but I feel so lucky to get to feel it. 'I've spent a lot of time being guarded or protecting my heart, and so I'm letting go of that feeling and just being like, "Okay, if I'm supposed to get hurt, then this is what's going to happen." I have to just allow love. When asked how it feels to be speaking so candidly about her relationship, she said: 'I'm happier than ever, so it feels like I'm doing a disservice by not talking about it.' 'When you're a public person, anything that's very personal is very vulnerable. It's not like I don't want to share it.' Dua, who turns 30 in August, publicly shared her excitement for the first time since the actor got down on one knee during a recent interview with British Vogue. The pop sensation discussed her family plans, saying she's concerned how having children will fit in with her career as a pop star. 'I'd love to have kids one day,' she said. 'But it's like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time – how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I'd have to take. 'I think it's just one of those things that's going to happen when it happens. I love kids, but I think there's so much more to raising a child than just loving children.' Confirming their engagement, Dua said: 'Yeah we're engaged. It's very exciting. 'This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever - it's a really special feeling.' Late last year, news of their romantic proposal emerged and Dua has regularly been seen with a dazzling diamond ring on her finger. Speaking of their wedding plans, Dua said she hopes to finish her tour and Callum to wrap up filming before they tie the knot. While the wedding hasn't been at the forefront of her mind amid her busy schedule touring, she did admit she has started to think about her dress. She said: 'I want to finish my tour, Callum's shooting, so we're just enjoying this period. 'I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden, I'm like: "Oh, what would I wear?"' Dua said she's 'obsessed' with her engagement ring, before insisting 'It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.' Dua and Callum were first linked in January 2024 and reportedly got engaged over Christmas in 2024. 'I think it's just one of those things that's going to happen when it happens. I love kids, but I think there's so much more to raising a child than just loving children.' Dua and Callum had 'many Sliding Doors moments', where they were in the same place at the same time without realising, before being introduced to one another at the River Cafe in London. A year later, she was having dinner in Los Angeles with her friend Mustafa the Poet when 'all of a sudden' Callum appeared. She thought: 'Oh, it's that really hot guy from The River Cafe.' During their conversation, the pair realised they both 'just happened to be reading' Hernan Diaz's novel Trust. Asked if she feels they were destined to be together, she replied: 'One thousand per cent.' Dua and Callum first sparked romance rumours in January 2024 when they both attended a Masters Of The Air afterparty in London. Prior to making her relationship public, the Dance the Night songstress revealed during promotion for her album Radical Optimism that she had to find her 'confidence' again after previous relationships had gone awry. Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, she revealed: 'In terms of relationships, I needed to get to this place in order to find what I really needed. You have to be in the act of forgiveness and growing and learning, and being okay with the past in order to move on with what's to come next. 'So it's, for me, Happy for You is a beautiful, happy song, because it's so reflective of my journey. 'I think with every relationship, with every experience you learn about yourself, you learn about things that are hurtful to you, what you expect, what you should be ready to give as well. 'I think, again, it goes back to that exchange of vulnerability. 'I think I've had relationships which have been really hurtful, especially earlier on, where I feel like I've been made to feel like not good enough or have made me lose my confidence and I've had to find that again. 'You learn about your own non-negotiables. I think that's an important thing. It's of course the right person, but it's really about the right relationship. 'You find that in friendships and in love relationships as well, of your non-negotiables.'
