Love Island fans rejoice as Megan booted by public vote

Daily Record6 hours ago

Although she was once a fan favourite, Megan was booted out of the villa by the public vote.
Two Love Islanders were kicked out of the villa on last night's episode (June 27). But it appears that fans of the reality series aren't exactly sad to see them go.
Drama had already ensued during Thursday's episode (June 26), when two couples decided to part ways. Alima broke off her relationship with Remell, due to his racy antics with Poppy at the separate sleepover villa.

Ben also chose to "take a step back" from his romance with Yasmin, sparking an intense argument between them.

But the stakes were raised when Iain Stirling announced that the public would be voting for their most-liked male and female islanders, meaning those with the fewest votes were to be sent packing.
During Friday night's episode (June 27), it came to light that Remell, Ben, and Harry had garnered the least support. Toni, Shakira, and Megan were also left hanging in the balance, reported OK!.
Those being threatened with eviction gathered by the firepit, while their fellow islanders disclosed the results of the public vote. Remell was the first to be shown the door, securing Harry and Ben's positions in the villa.
Although Remell's departure didn't stir much surprise, the elimination of Dublin beauty Megan had all jaws on the floor.
While her villa mates were shocked by her departure, viewers did not share the same sentiment on X.

"Good riddance [...]," wrote one user. "MEGAN IS GONEEEE," a second rejoiced.
Another fan expressed their satisfaction with the results, saying: "Toni and Shakira sending Megan home, that's what I like to see."
However, it wasn't just Megan's exit that stirred up feelings among viewers; many were also pleased to see Remell leaving the villa for the next flight home.

A thrilled fourth viewer exclaimed, "YEEEEES THANK YOU PUBLIC."
In the midst of overall negative sentiment, some fans came to Megan's defence, with one commenting: "So wrong to dump Megan tho she was not my fave but her and Conor were cute."

Echoing this support, another fan pointed out: "Megan decided to play the game as it should be played and not just be tied down to Tommy and these fans literally sent her home for it."
Originally favoured by the public, OG star Megan saw her standing slip recently after ending her relationship with Tommy, swiftly moving on to Conor.

Some viewers are convinced that if only Megan had managed her split from Tommy with more care, she might have secured a spot in the final.
One user suggested: "[She] literally had the potential to be in the final if she didn't do that to Tommy."

Another echoed this "Basically the producers were happy to let Megan go, otherwise they'd have had the Islanders pick. Seething Love Island fans slam 'vile' Ben and demand he's axed in public vote after explosive row with Yasmin "They would've 100% saved Megan. "I think they wanted to get rid of her once they saw her unhinged and abusive behaviour. No sooner had she told a delighted Conor about the development, he suggested they spend the night in the hideaway. The explosive move came after they shared two snogs on the Terrace behind smitten Tommy Bradley's back, infuriating fans. Megan and Tommy had seemed to be one of the dating show's most secure couples until this week, when her head was turned by Conor - sparking other Islanders to brand the situation 'wife swap'. Advertisement Fans also turned on 'nasty' Megan after she gleefully called Conor and Tommy's row over her "brilliant".
