The number one prospect in the 2025 NFL draft, Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter, wants to work out with two Cleveland Browns superstars.
In an interview with Bleacher Report, Heisman winner Hunter said he wants to work out with Browns' wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, cornerback Denzel Ward, and Broncos' cornerback Patrick Surtain II. Hunter said he used to slide into their messages trying to schedule a practice when he was younger.
Hunter said that he grew up in South Florida watching Jeudy's highlights. Jeudy has been one of the most dynamic playmakers in football since college. When Jeudy arrived in Cleveland, he mentioned how important growing up in South Florida meant to him. Jeudy was excited to play with his South Florida idol Amari Cooper. The Browns have successfully scouted the area for receiver talent. Hunter could be the next receiver from South Florida. At the NFL Combine, general manager Andrew Berry told the media the team views Hunter primarily as a receiver.
The Browns are deep at cornerback as Denzel Ward continues to lock down the opponent's passing attacks. Hunter is wise to be inspired by the All-Pro snub. There are a lot of flashes of Ward's game when Hunter plays. Hunter has the quick feet and smooth hips to excel at soft press coverage. Hunter's change of direction skills and his physicality when tackling are also reminiscent of the Browns' cornerback.
Hunter is the top cornerback and receiver prospect in the 2025 NFL draft. Hunter said he hasn't worked out with any of the stars just yet. Hunter could be working with Jeudy and Ward every day in practice. The Browns will strongly consider selecting the best player in the draft, even if his positional values are weak.

We will publish at least one NFL-themed story every day throughout the month because fans know the league truly never sleeps. Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton is on the phone. His voice is slightly hoarse from a cold but the story he told comes through loud and clear. It was about quarterback Bo Nix. It went like this. They knew that Nix was a good athlete. They saw it when Nix was at Oregon. But they didn't realize how explosive he was until Nix started actually practicing and playing in the NFL. "One thing about the QB that came even as a little surprise for us," Payton told USA TODAY Sports, "was seeing some of these off-schedule throws from him, and it kind of stunned us at how good he was at that. It's because he's so fast. I don't think people get how athletic and how fast he is." Off-schedule or off-platform throws are when the quarterback makes a pass while not in a balanced or standard throwing position. Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes excels at these. Nix is getting really good at them. In fact, he's getting good at it all. He's a big reason why the Broncos' Super Bowl window is officially open now. You read that correctly. Payton is asked for a bottom-line evaluation of Nix. "I'm seeing a player who I think will continue to make big strides," said Payton. Nix last season was off to a good start. He set Broncos rookie records for passing touchdowns (29), completions (376) and passing yards (3,775). He was also the first rookie quarterback in league history to record multiple games with at least 300 passing yards, four passing scores and a passer rating of at least 140. What Payton has found in Nix is most likely another quarterback star. Payton has had this before. (More on that in a moment.) This season we could see this duo become the most dangerous coach-quarterback combo in football. It's also why that Super Bowl window is opening now. Notice, I didn't say the best coach-quarterback combo (though that could happen as well). I said the most dangerous. If anyone can unseat the current best combo right now in Andy Reid and Mahomes, with three straight Super Bowl appearances, it would be this one. Yes, the combo of Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts just beat Kansas City in the Super Bowl, but Reid-Mahomes is still the gold standard. Payton and Nix, however, just entered the chat. The Broncos were a stunning 10-7 last year in part because Nix shocked everyone. But there's a reason he did. This is what Payton does. Give him a good quarterback, he makes him really good. Give him a great quarterback, he helps make him a certain Hall of Famer. See: Brees, Drew. Brees finished his career as the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards and completions when he retired in 2021. Tom Brady would later pass him. (Brady would later pass errybody.) Brees made 13 Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl, where he was also named Super Bowl MVP. Brees once remembered how this historic pairing began. "It goes back to when he first sat me down before I ever signed with the Saints, and he started drawing up plays on the board that was a combination of his West Coast offensive background and philosophy, and the things that I did well with the San Diego Chargers," Brees said. "I remember looking at him saying, 'Oh, you guys run these concepts as well?' And he said, 'No, but I know that you ran these and you ran them very well, and we're going to build this offense around you and your strengths.' "Right away, I realized that that was such a unique approach and maybe so much different than what I expected, especially from a first-time head coach, coming into a really tough situation with high expectations." That is classic Payton. I'll always believe that Payton is the best play caller in the history of the sport. One of the best play designers. One of the best at getting his players to understand his concepts, and adapting his concepts to the player. I know this because I've seen it up and close and personal. Watched him do it. Brees will skip into the Hall of Fame and some day Payton will follow him. Now, I'm seeing the same thing in Denver. It goes beyond the obvious that Nix and Brees are similar specimens. It's Payton again morphing the offense around what Nix does best. Payton is also criminally underrated in building a good culture. He's creating Saints West. Not the Saints you see now. Or the almost comically bad Saints teams from the 1970s. It's the one that was once solid and even feared. Payton is helping his own cause by putting pieces all around Nix. The Broncos had a successful offseason signing key free agents in safety Talanoa Hufanga, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, and tight end Evan Engram. The latter will be that "joker" weapon for the Broncos who maneuvers around the formation creating mismatches. 'That is a cool thing to just embrace,' Engram said. 'Sean talks about it a lot. It was a big part of the pitch coming here. ... I definitely see that it is something that has to be earned with the way I work and the way that I learn the offense to gain the trust of Sean, Bo, and the rest of the coaches and players. I think we have a bunch of 'Jokers' on this team, honestly, that can have a great role on this offense. It is definitely something that I like to embrace, but it is also something that I am going to earn, too.' And there's a piece of data you should know. The Broncos had 134 games missed due to injuries in 2022. That number fell to 35 in 2023 and 33 last season. It shows Payton is figuring out more than just the QB situation. So, this is just your warning. Will the Broncos win the Super Bowl this year? Maybe not. Or, heck, maybe so. What's certain is the Super Bowl window for this team is officially open. Three Wisconsin Badgers appear on PFF's list of the NFL's top centers for 2025 season A trio of former Wisconsin Badgers landed on ProFootballFocus' list of the top 32 centers entering the 2025 NFL season. Captained by Super Bowl-winning center Creed Humphrey, PFF's hierarchy features former Badger standouts Joe Tippmann, Tyler Biadasz and Tanor Bortolini. Tippmann, who is entering his third campaign representing the New York Jets, landed at No. 11 on the ranking between Arizona Cardinal Hjalte Froholdt (No. 10) and Cleveland Brown Ethan Pocic (No. 12). The Fort Wayne, Indiana, native has started in 31 of 33 career games in New York, including all 17 games at center a season ago with four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers at the helm. The Jets, with building star Breece Hall and Badger alumnus Braelon Allen in the backfield, rushed 363 times for 1,561 yards and eight scores behind Tippmann in 2024. Here's PFF's analysis on how the 2022 Honorable mention All-Big Ten center stacks up this coming season: "Tippmann took a big step forward in his second NFL season, earning a top-10 PFF overall grade (73.4) among centers. He improved his figure by more than 10 points on the grading scale over his rookie campaign, which bodes well for his ability to continue his career progression at just 24 years old." Amherst, Wisconsin, product Tyler Biadasz was the second Badger on PFF's recent list at No. 15. The five-year NFL veteran and 2022 Pro Bowler made 49 starts across four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before suiting up in 15 games with the Washington Commanders during the 2024 slate. With rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels at the helm and both Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler in the backfield, Washington rushed for 2,619 yards and 25 scores in 2024, with Biadasz leading the blocking effort. Only the Eagles and Ravens totaled more yardage on the ground. Here's PFF's take on the veteran: "Biadasz, in his first year with the Commanders, started off the 2024 season on a high note. Through the first nine games, his 79.3 PFF pass-blocking grade charted as the second-highest mark at the position. While that momentum faded as the season went on, and as Biadasz dealt with injury and illness, he still managed to finish with solid marks as a run blocker and a pass protector." Fresh off his first season with the Indianapolis Colts, Tanor Bortolini earned the No. 30 designation on the annual ranking. The Wisconsin product started in five of 12 total appearances for the Colts, largely contributing due to injuries at the position. Nonetheless, PFF's staff did not ignore the impression he made. "With the injuries to Ryan Kelly this past season, it was Bortolini and veteran Danny Pinter who stepped in to shoulder the load. Both are expected to compete for the starting job this summer. Bortolini showed a bit more of a well-rounded game in his first year as a pro, albeit on a limited sample. He produced a 64.0-plus PFF grade as both a run blocker and a pass protector, which may bode well for his chances of taking control of the starting job in 2025." As of June 6, all three players are poised to start for their respective franchises this coming season. The Colts, Jets and Commanders all kick-start their 2025 seasons on Sept. 7. The Pittsburgh Steelers did not have a great contingency plan in place if Aaron Rodgers chose not to sign with the Steelers. Luckily for the Steelers, Rodgers agreed to come to Pittsburgh on Thursday. Advertisement If Rodgers opted to go elsewhere or retire from football, it would have either been career backup Mason Rudolph or rookie Will Howard taking starting snaps under center; neither an ideal option. The Steelers have some decent skill talent around Rodgers. The offseason acquisition of DK Metcalf gives the Steelers a No. 1 option, despite trading away George Pickens. Robert Woods has been a steady contributor as a wideout for over a decade, and with the departure of Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren will finally take the reigns as the lead back for the Steelers. SI ranked each NFL team's top offensive triplets prior to the Rodgers' news, assuming that Mason Rudolph would be the starting quarterback, paired with Warren and Metcalf. The Steelers' trio ranked as a bottom-five unit in the NFL, with the No. 28 ranking. "Pittsburgh will shoot up the rankings if Aaron Rodgers joins the Black & Gold,'' the site wrote. "Rudolph is holding this offense back as he's a good backup but a poor starting option. Warren is a better back than some realize, having rushed for 4.3 YPC last year on 120 attempts. Metcalf is an enormous acquisition, coming off a year in Seattle where he posted 66 receptions for 992 yards over 15 games." Advertisement The real question is: with Rodgers, how much would the Steelers move up in this ranking? They rank right behind Indianapolis' Anthony Richardson, Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman Jr., New York's Justin Fields, Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson, and Denver's Bo Nix, RJ Harvey, and Courtland Sutton. Pittsburgh likely clears Indiana, but it's hard to argue they'd jump the Jets. Wilson is one of the NFL's best young receivers, and Breece Hall has been a scrimmage-yard machine since entering the NFL. Fields brings down New York's ranking, but after Rodgers' 5-12 campaign for the Jets, it's hard to imagine he'd bump the Steelers up a ton, especially with Warren coming off a down year in terms of production and efficiency.
