Forget You Not – Season 1 Episode 3 Recap & Review
When Did We Fall Out Of Love?
Episode 3 of Forget You Not starts with Le-le up on stage discussing relationships. She brings up how there are double-standards when you're falling in or falling out of love, while Le-le's own tumultuous ride with Chang-Kai comes crashing down around her. But how did this happen?
Well, we cut back in time and see the full context of their messy relationship in this episode. Kai continues to head out and view all of Le-le's sets, he visits her at the Mart and the pair continue to flirt and hang out too.
While they're in their honeymoon period, Kai receives a message come through about finally being made partner of the law-firm. Not long after, he proposes to her over dinner and the pair get engaged.
The earlier scenes soon change though from their initial fun and laughter to more comfortable tranquillity together. We can already start to see the cracks in their relationship here, as the pair forget the reason why they fell in love in the first place. Most notably though it comes from Kai no longer showing up at her sets.
While this is going on, Kuang-chi continues to ride his bike and cause drama back home. They have a bit of a plumbing mishap and it causes Le-le to completely forget about an important dinner with Kai's colleagues. He's a man in high demand and the lawyers want him to spread his wings and head abroad.
Kai though is going to think about it but he's not happy about his wife's absence. When Le-le realizes she's late, she rushes out to try and make it to the dinner. She does eventually show up but she's a complete mess and embarrasses Kai in the process.
In fact, Kai lies to his colleagues about what Le-le does as a job, clearly embarrassed by her stand-up comedy. Kai continues on how alike she is to her father, given she too misses big meetings like him, and he even scathingly retorts that he meets Kuang-chi more than she does.
Kai wants to spend more time with his wife and despite what made him fall in love with her in the first place, he wants her to change. Kai brings up their finances and how he has enough to support them both, gently encouraging her to be a stay-at-home mum. Le-le is not that sort of person though and she's uncomfortable bending to his whims, let alone fitting into a social circle she's alien to.
The crux of the issue here is that Kai clearly doesn't think she's good enough and Le-le is not particularly happy that her husband has been born into wealth and never suffered from real hardship. The biggest problem Kai faced was not making partner, which is how they both bonded in the first place, at their lowest points.
Kai is a very different person and doesn't understand why Le-le does her stand-up comedy. In the end, he admits he wants her to quit the gigs altogether, which is not something she's willing to do.
When Le-le leaves the house, she winds up with Kuang-chi and the pair dance in the rain, just like old times. This helps, along with a couple of weeks off, for Le-le to collect her thoughts and get back on stage to vent.
While she delivers her scathing set, she's unaware that Kai and his friends from work have shown up to support her. Up on stage, she rips into all the guys until she realizes that her husband is in the crowd and she slips back and tries to save the routine. It doesn't work, as Kai leaves the venue and decides to move to Singapore, managing the firm over there.
Whatever they had is gone, and Kai is not willing to try and work harder to make things better, ending their whirlwind romance. As Le-le moves into a new studio for a fresh start, her father heads over and unfortunately he immediately questions her choices and offers for her to move back home, rather than supporting her choice. Kai doesn't go about any of this in a particularly tactile way and attempts to give her advice on marriage and divorce too.
Back at Kuang-chi's place, Le-le winds up seeing a hospital bill for gastroenterology, which may or may not be linked to a bigger heath concern.
The Episode Review
This is a really great episode, encapsulating the highs and lows of relationships and how easy it can be to fall in love – and how the small erosion of falling out of love can eventually lead to a huge gap in your relationship.
Forget You Not understands this perfectly and those scenes of Kai showing up at the comedy club and then deciding to wait outside is indicative of their love fading. You can already see it happening with his comments about her watermelon breath and strained smiles, but similarly the show doesn't go out of its way to see Le-le as completely blameless either.
Le-le is also forgetful and doesn't really support Kai during his big dinner. It's still no excuse for him to lie about her career, and he gets a massive wake-up call when he shows up at the club and finds Le-le ripping into them all. It's a pretty uncomfortable scene but it also works well to show the different worlds these two have been born into. Sometimes opposites don't attract!
As we approach the midway point of this one, the show is just starting to get interesting.

Guava Shuishui dies age 24: Popular beauty influencer passes away after 'sudden illness'
A Taiwanese beauty influencer, known for tasting her products as she tested them, has died aged 24. Guava Shuishui, known online as Guava Beauty, amassed thousands of followers on Instagram through her reviews of makeup products. As per the English translation of a post shared to her social media account, the content creator died on May 24 from a 'sudden illness.' The popular influencer gained a following from her 'mukbang' videos, with dedicated followers eagerly watching her eat products such as lipstick, blush, face masks, and cotton pads. Mukbang is a form on content which involves the user eating in front of the camera. In her videos, Guava would test the product and then taste it - leaving her reviews of both. She would often ask followers to suggest products to try. Guava's exact cause of death is unknown, with her family releasing a statement via her Instagram. 'Although this trip came suddenly, Shuishui held on to every difficult moment just like she has always been – hard-working, serious, and shining,' the post said. 'Thank you to everyone who has liked, left a message and laughed with her, and thank you for your love and support. She really keeps it in her heart and cherishes it very much,' the statement continued. They concluded: 'Guava Shuishui simply continues to glow in a different place. When we meet again one day, she should be unboxing angels' exclusive makeup for eating broadcasts over.' That post was her last until May 24, when her profile bio was changed to: 'Logging out from the world. Setting off on a new journey. All business collaborations are suspended.' In one popular video from late 2024 that she had pinned to her page, the influencer used a jelly blush before sticking a fork in the container and scooping the entire product out to take a bite. In the caption, she acknowledged eating beauty products is 'controversial,' stating that children under six weren't allowed to watch her content. Some concerned fans commented on the video, worried she was setting a bad example for younger followers, and about the possible toxicity from the products. 'Please can you stop this behavior... You can eat in private, you can eat whatever you like. Really don't promote the act of "eating makeup,"' one user commented as per the English translation. 'It's still toxic, be careful,' warned another at the time. Some concerned fans commented on the video, worried she was setting a bad example for younger followers, and about the possible toxicity from the products 'I can understand that although it is inevitable to eat some lipstick, it's bad to eat it deliberately - please don't promote the act,' complained another. The world of 'mukbang' - where online creators share videos of them eating (often excessive) amounts of food while chatting to followers - has been attracting growing criticism as it grows in popularity. The trend - which has seen itself escalate in extremes, pushing creators to gorge on meals until it makes them unwell - is also tragically behind the deaths of at least three influencers, some as young as 24, in the last three years. Worried experts have also expressed concern that the move normalizes poor and unhealthy diets - as well as leading to potential nutrition deficiencies.
