UN final report on Sudan does not make 'single finding against UAE', says official
Earlier, Sudan filed a case against the UAE at the International Court of Justice. Such allegations were made to "distract international attention from their own atrocities, including the use of chemical weapons," Abushahab added.
The final report by the UN Panel of Experts on Sudan was released by the UN Security Council, and provides "no support for the SAF's unsubstantiated allegations," he said.
The report highlights widespread atrocities by both warring parties against the Sudanese people, which include attacks on civilians, sexual violence, and weaponisation of humanitarian aid, said the Permanent Representative of the UAE to the UN.
The UAE reiterated its call on both the SAF and RSF for an end to the civil war, peace talks, and access to aid into and throughout Sudan. The international community must help the Sudanese people gain peace and stability by "unify[ing] its efforts behind a credible political process that leads to a civilian-led government, independent from the military," Abushahab said.
Accusations against UAE, and response
Sudan's case to the World Court alleged that UAE violated its obligations under the Genocide Convention by arming the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Government officials in the Emirates have called the case "a publicity stunt" and earlier, called for a dismissal of the application.
When the ICJ convened to hear a response to Sudan's application, UAE emphasised a lack of jurisdictional basis for the case.
The country also stressed that Sudan's accusations were "pure fabrication" and meant to 'distract attention from their own culpability.'

Five countries drop 90 aid airdrops over Gaza amid safety concerns
Aircraft from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Germany, and France airdropped 90 packages of humanitarian aid packages in the northern and southern Gaza Strip in the last few hours, according to the Israeli military. The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, previously has criticised the use of airdropped aid in Gaza, warning it risks killing civilians seeking relief. "If there is political will to allow airdrops - which are highly costly, insufficient & inefficient, there should be similar political will to open the road crossings," he said on Friday. "As the people of Gaza are starving to death, the only way to respond to the famine is to flood Gaza with assistance." Airdrops are at least 100 times more costly than trucks Trucks carry twice as much aid as planes.
